This book is a good home base of sorts. It doesn't delve too deep into anything. Each author gives some info on various concepts, studies, dream representation in artwork, gender differences in dreaming, etc, and some references which are all listed in the back of the book. This is a really good book to build a nice foundation of knowledge and know which books and researchers you want to explore further. Each author has their own style and their own take on the subject, which is helpful to form a holistic view rather than mistaking anything as too definitive. Even though this book was written some time ago, it doesn't feel entirely outdated, but rather gives a good idea of the history of dream research. This is a book about research, taking a scientific approach, rather than anything very metaphysical/spiritual, even when speaking on phenomenon that isn't yet explained by science. This isn't a dream dictionary, but it does provide some info that would be helpful in learning how to interpret your dreams.

This book is a must for psychology students and for those interested in "decoding the language of the night".
it's fascinating how the writer explained the role of dreams in psychotherapy while taking into consideration different approaches.
My favorite part in the book is the one related to "dreams in creativity and education" it shows how powerful our mind is even when in a state of "sleeping". 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
