When a nerd and a bad boy get together, it's pure chemistry.

Scientist Maddie Clarke likes to keep her life organized and on schedule. But when bad boy Sam Hennessy returns home fifteen years after calling her a nerd, her life is thrown into chaos.

Desperately needing a subject to test her latest pheromone-based perfume on, she chooses Sam. After all, he's perfect. There's no way someone like him would fall for a dork like her without drugs and/or alcohol being involved. The only thing is, Sam isn't the sort of guy who likes to be manipulated, even by someone he finds suddenly and unexpectedly sexy.

My problem with this story is the "science". I found it kind of frustrating. It was not particularly realistic. I know this is fiction and realism can therefore be suspended at will but testing should be a lot more strictly carried out when creating new products in a lab. This was more like half hearted testing and I know the story line is supposed to be forcing human testing before time because of pressure from the clients but come on! One set of mice...really? Where was the control?

Then there is Maddy herself...argh! I can't say I liked her, I found her annoying and somewhat inconsistent.
The saving grace for me, what made me continue reading, besides being a diehard romance reader who rarely gives up reading a book before it is finished, was Sam...I found him kinda sweet...not particularly alpha but nice enough for me to continue reading until the end.

Liked it a lot
A player comes home because he is restless and the nerd next door has developed in a sexy curvaceous women...
A storyline a lot of people can relate to, I think, because strong confident men understand strong confident women who are sexy in their size 14 :)

This book is okay, not great. Not much depth to the romance. Maddie is an odd character.

This was predictable and dull. Did not really get Maddie and well Sam was just a bit of an odd ball too. Not much content and not much steaminess either.
