In a time of unprecedented danger for the West, it's crucial that Americans understand the true nature of the adversaries we face and how we are making them bolder each day. Join Aaron Klein, award-winning journalist and radio commentator, as he schmoozes and kvetches with radical clerics, suicide bombers, the parents of potential child martyrs and the leaders of the world's most dangerous terrorist organizations. Here's the real story behind today's war headlines, told from the unique perspective of a Jew meeting-and eating-with his deadliest enemies.Among the highlights of Schmoozing with Terrorists: Why do the terrorists tell Klein that Hillary Clinton is the jihadist choice for president? Which anti-war politicians and celebrities meddling in Middle East politics are jihadist favorites? What compels someone to blow themselves up in order to kill others? What would day-to-day life be like in America if the terrorists win? (Madonna and Britney Spears take note!)
Aaron Klein, an Orthodox Jew, has had the courage to enter the heart of darkness and lived to tell about it. The terrorists Klein interviews aren't motivated by desperation and poverty, they are mostly middle class. The terrorists themselves reject that explanation, rather they are motivated by faith and a view that Islam will literally conquer all. They are (not surprising) media savvy, timing their attacks to coincide with news cycles and generally Muslim supremicists, explaining, for example, that in a Muslim World which they believe they are working to bring about, Britainy Spears and Madonna are prostitutes and will of course have to convert and give up their wanton ways, but if not they will be have to be killed.
One of many interesting anecdotes is when Klein's associate radio interviewer Rusty Humphries challenges some of his subjects to produce the passage from the Quran concerning the 72 virgins. Finally they concede that its just not there. Then he (Humphries) has the guts to ask if that means that each shahid gets 72 virgins - or are the 72 virgins shared. ;-)
Reading this book is an antidote to the attitude that people everywhere are alike and have the same motivations. This is clearly not the case here - some people are motivated to kill others for the glory of Allah and a place in the world to come. Its also quite chilling - Klein relate how one of his contacts calls on via cell just after shooting at a busload of schoolgirls, asking if it was on the news and how many did he kill.
Unfortunately there are people like this in the world.
Temple Mount in East Jerusalem, the holiest site in Judaism, is more accessible to Muslims, than it is to Jews. This is the policy of the custodians of the Temple Mount, who are called the Waqf, and who are Muslims. Even though East Jerusalem was recaptured by Israel in the Six-Day War in 1967, the Israeli government has been unwilling to replace these Muslim guards with Jewish ones. The Muslims claim Jerusalem as a holy place in their religion, even though the Quran never mentions Jerusalem by name.
