Brooke Shaden is a gifted writer as well as an amazing photographer. It is fascinating to learn how she creates her art. While I do not necessarily like her "dark art" style, the concepts she teaches are universal and therefore beneficial to you as an artist or photographer regardless of your style.

I discovered Brooke Shaden when I came across an interview she did for a YouTube channel years ago, and I have been following her work ever since. Her forte is compositing a final image from multiple photographs. She can create fantastical visions of worlds that only exist in her mind, which she then shares with us. What else can I say? Brooke Shaden is awesome!

She has her own YouTube channel with I highly recommend for anyone that wants to see how a true artist thinks and works.

Brooke Shaden's work is a huge inspiration to me. I found this book to be very informative on things like use of color, location, self-portraiture, etc. It's one of those books I found myself sticking post-it notes in to make notes for myself and marking places to come back to. The book features many of Brooke's photos printed in color. I highly recommend this book for any fine-art photographers or artists!
