Margaret and her friends find their lives in danger when the dark swan Sebastian leaves Joona to practice his evil magic on earth. Sequel to "Defenders of Joona."
I loved the series this time just as much as when I read it the first time, maybe even more. The only downfall is that I'm done reading it, and I wish there was more of this story. So Kim V. Engelmann, if you're reading this make more stories in this series for us to love.
What a great way to end the series. I have honestly become attached to Margaret (I know, I know, they're just YA books!) and her spirit. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I think Engelmann did a great job of rounding out the series. Joona is a magical place. I enjoyed finally getting to "meet" Milhoe and, much like Margaret, felt pity for Sebastian at his time of sentencing. I only with that the books in the Joona Series were longer, as I enjoyed them so very much. I remember now why I liked them so much as a young girl. I know Engelmann wishes she could write YA Fantasy and make a living. I would be thrilled for a follow up series of either Margaret and crew as adults, or about their children.
