Love--and healing--can come from the most unexpected places...
Sensual Healing, Book 3
Still hurting physically and emotionally after a tragic car accident, Mia Nicholls has everything but love on her mind. Until quiet, sexy Colm Molony--a man who barely registered on her romantic radar--gives her a more-than-friends birthday kiss that really rings her bell.
The minute he laid eyes on Mia, Colm knew she was trouble, which is one reason he's kept his distance. The other is that he'll be leaving New Zealand to go back to Ireland at summer's end. Yet when he touches Mia's watch, his supernatural ability to sense others' emotions kicks in, and his instinct to soothe her private pain overrides his intention to stay away.
While away on a course together, talk leads to massage, then to a game of strip whist, culminating in a physical relationship that turns emotional faster than either expected. But when a shocking event threatens to upset Mia's tenuous equilibrium, Colm must untangle himself from his own past before he can save her wounded heart from slipping beyond his reach.
USA Today bestselling author Serenity Woods writes small-town romances about strong, capable men who work hard and love harder. Most of her stories are set in Aotearoa New Zealand, where she lives.
I’m a big fan of Serenity Woods books and this book was no exception. This book is the third in the trilogy and is my favourite. I loved the description of Mia and Colm coming together; it was wonderfully playful.
Although this book is a stand-alone, reading the other books is a help.
One thing I particularly like is the extra senses the characters in these stories have is not over the top. I totally agree that none of this is in any way proved by science, but then again, science as yet doesn’t know all. By example, people swear by acupuncture, but science can’t tell us how it works. So I’m comfortable suspending my scientific doubt and going with the story.
A most enjoyable read with enough twists to keep you on your toes!
Hot, sexy guy with a lilt. Gotta love it. Not to mention that Colm is sweet, caring, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and has magic hands. A man full of mystery though and a Mia with trauma of her own to deal with, not to mention 13,000 miles. You will love this story in its own right but it also wraps up the story arc from the first two books Uncommon Sense and making Sense and solves the mystery of Ash and Grace’s stalker.
This is an amazing series funny, suspenseful, steamy, and romantic with wonderful strong characters both male and female, I was so caught up in the stories that I could simply not stop reading until the very end. Well done
Mia and Colm's story is certainly giving Nate and Freya's tale a push. I really enjoyed how we're shown Colm trying to make sense of his gift, and everything. And being the last book in the series we get to see more of Grace and Ash, and Nate and Freya.
I really enjoyed this one! Nerdy Colm and sweet Mia. Together they’re explosive. Each dealing with past hurts along with Colm dealing with his ability makes for a rocky road. The end of the trial is worth the turmoil. Beautiful story!
This story, like the others in the series, was perfect. Bringing the other stories into this one and building yet another great relationship. Serenity Woods has a great way with words
First, I must say that the cover of the book is absolutely beautiful, which matches the inside story in sensuality, romance and love. Talking Sense by Serenity Woods is the 3rd book in the Sensual Healing trilogy and is the continuing story of three women meeting men with supernatural abilities.
Mia Nicholls is a school teacher who is still suffering from physical pain after a car accident. She doesn’t feel she is worthy to move on after a small child was killed in that accident and she carries the guilt of living. Mia continues to refuse to take her pain medication and healing with help from her friends. It is all quite evident to Colm Molony when he touches something of hers and senses her pain firsthand that he wants to help her himself.
Colm is a temporary relief history teacher from Ireland, who came to New Zealand for a year. He decided to travel after touching something that may have been his birth father’s and want to learn about his past. Colm has been admiring Mia from afar and knew to stay away from her because getting involved with her would be a mistake. He wasn’t in New Zealand for romance and he has every intention of returning to Ireland. What he didn’t count on is that one birthday kiss with Mia would turn so quickly from flirting, to a physical relationship, and finally to finding love.
I liked both main characters and how they were developed over the span of the story. Colm was good for Mia and a little pushy with her to get her to take her pills and give her massages to feel less back pain. She knew he wasn’t patronizing and that he meant well. It felt good to be taken care of and she also was tired of the pain. The more time they spent together he decided to take a chance and tell her the real reason for being in New Zealand and about his ability. He felt so much better after telling Mia and her acceptance of it, and pleasantly surprised she offered to help him with his search. Once he got to the end of his quest he didn’t like the answer and took his anger out on Mia. He reacted by lashing out at Mia and said things poorly which he later regretted. Both characters were real to me and that made me like them even more.
It was refreshing when Mia spoke quite frankly about sex and what she liked and wanted. Good for her being a little over enthusiastic about sex and talking about it. Their love scenes were sexy, hot, and fun. I especially loved the game of strip whist and a bit of truth or dare mixed with it. Their love scenes gradually get a bit hotter and Colm is one sexy man and gives Mia what she desires. What I liked is reading Mia’s thoughts about love. You are never too old to learn something new about yourself and Mia learned a big lesson here.
I liked that the author brought both Ash and Grace, and Nate and Freya, from the first two books and are an integral part of the story and the dramatic ending. Both characters needed healing and in the end, Ash was able to give them both a bit of closure. Both Colm and Mia needed this sign from beyond in order to move forward with their lives and for a future together.
I think this was the best book of the series and the whole story was captivating to read in one day. The ending came way too soon and I wished there had been an epilogue. There was an easy flow to the story and very well written. Serenity Woods wrote a complete romance for me. She gives me everything I like in a romance from desire and heat between the main characters, a good plot and a happy ending for the couple at the end of the story. This is one of my favorite series from a very good writer and is highly recommended. (touch of paranormal romance)
