I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.
No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.
I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.
Laurann did it again, people!!! It was perfect, from the beginning till end. Short, sweet, sexy and of course with a HEA.
I loved how cute and amazing Lethal and Lacey were together. Lacey is quite funny, stubborn, smart and when needed also open minded. And Lethal is one big teddy bear, but only to his woman. You certainly don't want get on his bad side, that's for sure. There's also some action and just the right amount of scorching hot scenes. ;)
Yay~ A LD book with a release date. Something to count down to. [image error]
I am hoping for True to come out quickly, but any Laurann Dohner book would be amazing and I have really wanted to read about Lethal since I first met him. Who can say no to this guy?
Besides, I always love a well written vampire with vampire hunter novel, and I can always rely on LD to write a good story.
Lacey is on a mission to eradicate vampires ever since one of them killed her sister. working with a special team she's able to tranquilize one and chains him up so he'll turn to dust when the sun rises. But she's looking for the specific vampire who killed her sister and so interrogates the vamp she captured.
Lethal, an ancient vampire, can't believe a female mortal captured him much less that he's about to get fried when the sun rises because of that. His only option is to turn the tables on her and make her regret her actions. He's no killer so just giving her a healthy vampire scare should be enough. Until Lacey proceeds to seduce him as a last act before he meets his final death. What's a vampire to do when forced to endure a horny mortal female who likes her men tied up?
This was a quickie read at 91 print pages but did pack a punch. I do think it would have been much better if longer which would have resulted in more world building and depth to characters. And of course more quality adult content. hehe. Alas not. But still liked this one.
My only issue is that I really didn't get a concrete feel for Lethal and his crew. I want my vamps to be vamps, not polite gentlemen who are polite, sweet, and personable. The bad boy personna who no one wants to mess with except their mate who can't understand why others fear him because he's so sweet. This wasn't the case here. One example of my disappointment was that Lethal was very concerned that the shapeshifters and other vamps would find out how easily he had been captured. I would have preferred to have him dare them to even ask. And if someone was silly enough to question it to any degree than the basics they would find out why that would have been a stupid idea as they hurt for a long long long time. And Lacey. I liked her character and she had many positives in my book but came very very close to 'TSTL' in my book. One example of this is that she was smart enough to have a safe house but when that was tested it was found it wasn't so safe. That's all I'll say.
Overall an enjoyable quickie as a fill in when you're looking for this sort of read.
Nothing really to write home about in this book. It was quite short and not a great deal of character development. I enjoy her writing and wanted to read this one. The sex scene was smokin but I didn't fall in love with this book. Insta-luv takes some convincing for me. Plus, we didn't even know Lacey loved him until we read "the man she loved falling to the floor" or something similar. We don't see her admit it to herself first. It's mentioned right there with no build up.
I'm currently reading Mine to Chase and feeling about the same way with it.
Her Cyborg, New Species, and Zorn series books are more enjoyable. Perhaps because they are longer? Regardless, I have two New Species books to read from her right now so looking forward to Wrath and Tiger. (Yay! Tiger's book!) :')
A short story about a lady vampire slayer who kidnapped a master vampire and planned to kill him to avenge the killing of her sister. Heard that one before? Of course we have.
Without any spectacular or out of the ordinary plot lines, I just flipped through the pages without any interest and concern to the HEA. Because I can already guess of the ending since page 15.
All in all, a read-before story just told differently. A let down by LD's standard.
2.5 stars. It was good, but I wished it was a full length story rather than Novella length. If there was more back story and enough time for these two to fall in love, it would've been great :0)
A quick read about a vampire hunter and a vampire. The beginning kind of reminds me a bit of a simplified version of Cat and Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Series. Unlike Bones, Lethal can’t go out into the sun though.
One thing I felt missing in this short story is the emotion/relationship building. They’ve been together as prisoner and ward for just a few days then Lethal suddenly wants her and even wants to turn her into a vampire. The tears he had when Lacey almost died came as a surprise because honestly, while they’ve been intimate several tine in this book, a deeper connection was just not there. At least, that’s how I felt.

My Thoughts
*3.5 Stars*
As with any Laurann Dohner story, Lacey and Lethal was a very erotic read packed with plenty of heat and sprinkles of action. Being a novella, this story was short and for that the story was quite rushed and the storyline wasn't very fleshed out. Everything also happened very fast in a short amount of time.
Furthermore, I believed Lacey and Lethal's relationship could have been better developed. They went from meeting to saying "I love yous" in a very short time frame that wasn't very believable. I believe this story took place in only about two/three days. Also, there were a few loose ends to the story...the main one being did Lacey ever find her sister's murderer? She was hell-bent on finding the vampire who killed her sister, but nothing was ever mentioned about if they ever found the killer. The story just ended. Furthermore, did Lethal ever come clean to Lacey about using mind control on her to have sex with him instead of killing him in the beginning? Apparently, he never did.
While I had those questions running through my head, I did find myself liking the characters. I liked Lethal for his alpha traits and Lacey for her feistiness. I also enjoyed their verbal sparring which was quite funny and entertaining. In the end, even though there were a few flaws here and there with this story I enjoyed Lacey and Lethal overall. It was a fast and hot read to pass the time. I'm a fan of Laurann's stories and will continue to read what she puts out.

4 1/2 stars, This is a short novella that just barley satisfied my Laurann Dohner addiction unfortunately, that satisfaction has already worn off and I want another LD book now! I really liked this book it takes place in the same world as the two novellas in Something Wicked This Way Comes volume 2(Scarred and Kilt) and Mine to Chase. In this book we meet Lethal and Lacey. Lacey had a great life a job she loved, a fiancé, and a great sister then one day her sister was killed. While grieving over the death of her sister Lacey was shown proof that vampires exists when a man showed her her sister being taken by one. Now the only thing she lives for is to kill as many vampires as possible and hopefully one day find the vampire that killed her sister.
On one of her teams steak outs Lacey captures a vampire and is given the task of killing him, but when Lethal wakes and talks to Lacey neither can deny the attraction. The more time they spend together the more it becomes obvious that Lethal isn't like the other vampires and Lacey agree's to let him go. Lethal has never felt the way he feels since he met Lacey and once he convinced her that he wasn't a threat he knew he had to convince her to stay with him forever. But When Lacey's team finds out that she didn't kill Lethal they come with the intention of not only killing Lethal but Lacey as well.
I really liked this book. Like all other Laurann Dohner books I got sucked in right away into the story and easily fell in love with Lacey and Lethal. Lacey was strong and wounded and just wanted to find peace after the death of her sister. Lethal was yet again another great hero from LD, he was strong, commanding, possessive, and another great hero in this series. The world building was great and even though this book is only 91 pages I never felt like I missed any important parts or details in the book. I would have loved more just because it was so good but in the end this is a great novella and another great example of Laurann Dohner's talent.
I read this book as part of the Claws and Fangs compilation.
Lacey and Lethal 3.75 out of 5 stars. Lacey+Lethal
Lacey is a vampire slayer…she became one after losing her sister to a rogue vampire…but of course she doesn’t know that. All she knows is that all vampires are bad. So she captures Lethal and is set to kill him…let him meet the sun, until she decides to use him for her pleasure. This part right here, makes this the best book in the series, because book two has the smut, the other two…not so much.
Anyhow, eventually she releases him, and Lethal sets out to make her his and also avenge her sister. At times, Lacey was so annoying with her vampire-bad-slayer-kill mentality…but they were my favourite couple.

I couldn’t wait to read this book when I read about it. There is just something about the way this author writes that I love. It also has vampires, which is an added bonus.
Lacey just wants revenge on the bloodsucker that killed her sister. She doesn’t stop to think that there are good and bad vampires just like with humans. There is just something about Lethal that gets to her after she talks to him. She can’t bring herself to kill him and there also seems to be a connection between them.
After reading this book I want to find my own vampire and tie him up and have my way with him. To know that someone that big and strong can be brought down by a little woman. There is no way that Lethal can hold it against her and when their feelings gets in the way it is over. I believe killing vampires for so long has made some of the hunters blood thirsty. They don’t want to stop and listen to anyone. I also liked how the vampires and werewolves can work together and keep each other safe. They are usually after each other and you can get nothing done with them fighting all the time.
I can’t wait to see what this author will be writing about next. I know it will have hot sex and suspense all wrapped up in all. You can’t have the good if you don’t have just a little bad mixed in. If you have never read a book by this author I recommend that you start reading her books. I really love the New Species Series.
After losing her sister in a vampire attack, Lacey has dedicated her life to hunting and killing any vampire she can find. Until she captures Lethal. Lethal is a master vampire, stronger than any she has meet before, and she is drawn to him and soon loses all desire to see him turned to dust.
Lacey is funny. She is sassy with some amusing one liners and doesn’t take any grief from anyone, including a centuries of vampire. At the beginning of the short she is sad with the grief of her sisters death still weighing on her but as she opens herself up to Lethal and the prospect of moving on, she has quite the sense of humor. Lethal was sexy and Scottish so I could just imagine his burr as he spoke to her.
There were a few threads that I didn’t feel were completely tied off at the end of the story. The main one being Lacey doesn’t find the vampire that killed her sister. Lethal sends some of his friends to find him but at the end of the novella he hasn’t been found. There is also Lethal’s use of mind control on Lacey at the beginning of the story where he convinces her to have sex with him instead of killing him. He never comes clean about that.
Overall I enjoyed the world that Dohner created but I would have liked a little more detail as to the make up of the society of the vampires and werewolves. Mixing the werewolves with the vampires was a nice touch and I am hoping to see many more books featureing the secondary characters mentioned.
Way to short but to the point. Quick little read about what happens when a vampire hunter meets her match. When Lacey and Lethal lay eyes on each other there is instant attraction, even though they both deny it. Lethal being a master had the ability to use mind control but he only does it a little to get her where he wants her, on top of him. In his words, it's a good way to die, with her straddling him and the promise of a skylight hitting him with a full blast of sunshine he's ready to accept his fate. They quickly develop feelings for each other and Lethal is ready to make her his, permanently. Lacey isn't so keen on the whole bloodsucking thing so she refuses to let him touch her with his mouth. Well not the first time anyway. Jeesh, she's only human and he did use mind control, what's a weak minded girl to do? So he breaks down her defenses, hell all she had to do was look at his bod and she was toast. So she sort of gets the taste, not completely, but Lethal has marked his claim. Things go awry, to say the least, and desperate times call for desperate measures. Well you know what happens when there's a hot vampire in the room. Your probably going to become one too.

REVIEW: This book is set in the same world as Scarred and Kilt in Something Wicked this Way Comes and Mine to Chase. I recommend reading the books in order, but they can be read out of order. I always enjoy Laurann Dohner's books. Lacey and Lethal was no exception. Who doesn't enjoy sexy vampires? Lethal is captures by Lacey who thinks all vampires are evil and joins a group of hunters after her sister is killed by a vampire. Lethal is different than any vampire she has met and she can't deny their attraction. This is a quick sexy paranormal novella and I recommend it for paranormal lovers.

What can I say? Nothing really. Laurann Dohner's novel does it all for me.
Lacey has been on the hunt for everything that resembles vampire in sight. Since the death or her sister she is looking for revenge from the one that killed her. On the way she happens to kidnap/capture a hunky alpha male, Lethal. Bound and questioned by a lovely and not to mention horny Lacey, things begin to escalate and change quickly. Are you ready for the adventure?
Even Lethal's name gives me some very interesting thoughts ;)Loved the fact that all Lethal was worried about was what his men would think about him being captured by a woman. For 90 or so pages this packs a big lot that will keep readers entertained, alert and getting hotter by the minute. Dohner's mind seems to be on a running wheel, linked to her body, and linked to a pen and paper. An original author. Can't wait to get my hands on more novels :)
I've read and enjoyed the previous books Scarred & Kilt and Mine To Chase.
Lacey and Lethal was so worth reading.
I really liked the capture/captive plot. Rough and tough Lethal wakes up embarrassed at getting taken down and captured by a mere human, and a woman at that. Lacey has only ever seen bad, evil vampires in her quest to stop others from being hurt like her murdered sister and doesn't know what to make of Lethal.
The dialogue between them was so entertaining. I couldn't wait for what he'd say or do next. They were honest, brave and sassy and that worked for me to see them as a great couple together.
It was a shorter book but it had the drama, romance and danger for a complete, satisfying read so don't pass it up just because of that or you'll miss out on another wonderful book by Ms.Dohner. (I loved the cover)
So there are three novels set in the same time frame. I try to read them in order because I feel like it ruins it when they're out of order. I actually started Mine to Chase before this one and I realized pretty quickly that Lacey and Lethal comes before Mine to Chase and after Scarred and Kilt.
I thought it was pretty good. I could feel Lacey's anger and hatred. I admit I was scared at first, I didn't think Lethal would make it. I have to admit, Dohner has moved into one of my favorite authors. I have one more book left and I think I've read everything she has available. I really enjoy her writing and her worlds. She makes them come alive and with feeling. Some books you just don't feel anything. Not with Dohner! I feel plenty.
I really enjoy her books. I can't wait to read the next one. C'mon Chase, show me what you got.
Real different than her known series! No New Species, Zorn Warriors or hot Cyborgs. But Vampires! Wow. If you like your paranormal books hot, jucy and full with alpha men. Then Laurann Dohner is your author.
Lacey and Lethal by Laurann Dohner is set et in the same world as Scarred and Kilt, and Mine to Chase. Lovely book to read. I have to admit not as good as the New Species series but definitely fun to read Laurann's books about vampires. She proofs that she in't stuck on one or two paranormal beings but changing her boundaries. With the extensive world building and hot characters a real recommendation!
The story is good, the opening scene is semi-action pack. Although the development of the couple from enemies to lovers is only for a few chapters, it is still enjoyable to discover their feelings to one another. Lacey learned that not all vampires are mindless killers and Lethal falls in lust then love with her in a few days. But I noticed that the pursue of justice of Lacey, and the cause of her becoming a hunter was not solved in this story. I wish that this story have a sequel where the other vampires Blaron and Chase are included.
