The premise of this book is fascinating. What would happen if, in medieval times, a community connected to the mainland by a land bridge was cut off completely by the sea overflowing the bridge, and then, decades later, the bridge reappeared, and the mainlanders made contact again with their time-trapped islanders. An intriguing tale.
