Barbara McMahon is quickly becoming becoming one of my favorite 1-click authors and she didn’t disappoint with Jared’s Promise. I loved this heartwarming story centered around orphaned Jamie. Jared brings Jamie back from U.A.E. after her father is killed in an accident and then her mother dies. Jenny is hired as the nanny to take care of her, while Jared recuperates from the injuries he received in the accident. They are instantly attracted to each other, but Jenny is just getting over a failed relationship and won’t settle for anything but love. Will these two figure out they’re perfect for one another or will Jared let his failed marriage and his dad’s ramblings ruin things? No spoilers so grab your copy and fall in love with this wonderful read.

Jared's Promise by Barbara McMahon is a book that I couldn't stop reading. I was glued to each and every captivating page as the story unfolded, I grew more and more intrigued with anticipation of what was to happen next. Barbara is one of my favorite authors and I think you will quickly realize why. She takes you right into the heartfelt story and you feel more embraced with every page turn.
Jenny, a school teacher on break in New Orleans. Jared, an injured oil worker returned home. But he was not alone. He brought with him his recently passed friend's orphaned baby girl Jamie. Jared promised to bring Jamie to the US if anything were to happen. Jenny takes a part time job as a nanny for Jamie. She had recently broken up from a serious relationship prior to coming to New Orleans. She wanted to marry for love not out of convenience. Jared hopes to find a suitable family for Jamie since he often travels. He didn't expect to fall for the rather vocal yet beautiful nanny. Could this be the game changer for the traveling bachelor? Add to it that he is falling for Jamie. Summers end is only a few months away. Can the baby change both their lives? He kept putting off calling the lawyer. Was this a sign that he was changing his way of thinking?
I highly recommend this read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Jenny has come to New Orleans for the summer to escape after the end of a relationship. She has agreed to be the Nanny for an infant. What she doesn’t understand is how the single father could possibly be planning on giving his child up for adoption as soon as possible. Fresh out of the hospital, Jared has landed back in New Orleans with a baby girl in tow. As a favor to his best friend wo died in the same accident Jared was injured in, Jared let the infant’s dying mother change the birth certificate to name Jared as father to aid in him bringing her back to the states.

As Jenny and Jared get to know each other and spend time with precious baby Jamie, they find themselves falling for each other. Can this ready-made family change Jared’s globe-trotting ways, or will he stick to his plan to go back overseas as soon as he is medically cleared?

This is a lovely story about love, friendship and sacrifice and how sometimes we don’t realize that the plans we have for our lives might not be the ones that are best for us. This is a heartwarming story with strong, identifiable characters and a sweet ending.

This is a heart-felt story of love, loss, friendship and responsibility. Jared is a man who is dedicated to living his life without ties. He's caring and honorable, but he's also very stubborn and short sighted. Jenny is sweet, kind, caring and determined. He hired her to be temporary nanny for his friends baby, but from the minute he sets eyes on her, she turns his life upside down. She grew up an orphan and resents his unfeeling attitude towards the baby. He thinks that he's doing what's best. She falls hard for him and baby, but he does everything he can to concentrate on his recovery, and finding a home for the baby. They often bicker about his responsibility to the baby, she thinks his friend would want him to raise her, he thinks she's better off elsewhere. While his feelings gradually shift, he stays determined to back overseas. It does have a HEA, but he literally waits until the last minute. It's a must for your TBR list.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Jared & Jenny are brought together under unusual circumstances. He is looking for a nanny to take care of a baby under his care & she is looking to escape the pity from her hometown after she was jilted. They are both damaged in their own ways & need time to recover. They are attracted to each other from the start & fight it since they know they each want different things. Can they find their way & raise the baby together or will they go their seperate ways?

These characters are very well developed & identifable. The reader can easily imagine Jenny being subject to pitying glances & gossip & feel sympathy for her. Jared being thrust into the caretaker role for the baby while still recuperating from his injuries makes him a sympathetic figure. I enjoyed seeing Jared slowly falling under the baby's spell. Another great read!

Bachelor Dad

Jared Montgomery promised his best friend Jim that he would take care of his daughter. Jim was killed in an explosion. Then the baby's mother died after she put Jared's name on baby's birth certificate. Jared has brought the baby to New Orleans but plans on putting Jamie up for adoption since he plans on returning to his job in Abu Dhabi. Jenny Straford is hired to be a temporary nanny. Will Jenny who was raised in an orphanage be able to show Jared what he really is missing in his life? Barbara has written another wonderful and emotional book. How living without Love, family and friends is a lonely life.

Jenny and Jared are definitely total opposite. She wants to settle down - husband, children, white picket fence. He is footloose and fancy free and settling down doesn't register on his radar. Can a baby (not theirs) change their minds and bring them together - forever? Loved Jared's neighbor, such a sweet older lady.

Only for Love

At first glance, Jenny knew this man was going to be heArtbrEaker. Add a little baby into the fray and she aS a goner. But he wants to get rid of the baby and wider need her help any more. It was a recipe for heartache alright.
Read Jared's Promise to find out how one little girl turns not one but two lives upside down!

This is the first book I have read by this author. It was a wonderful story Jenny (the hired nanny for the summer) and Jared Montgomery, as well as his infant daughter, Jamie.
This book was an introduction to them and they situations.

I hope that there is a continuation of the story, because it was left with one wondering
just what was the future for these characters.

Sweet, heartwarming, feel good romance

And again this author has delivered a heartwarming story. Teacher Jenny was an orphan raised in a children's home.. She takes a temporary job as a nanny to get out of her home town after a failed engagement. Jared is an oil worker injured in an overseas accident, raising his dead BFF's baby girl and who he plans on putting up for adoption. I enjoyed these two together, they make each other better but I must admit Jenny annoyed me with her single mindedness, enough so that she became a less sympathetic character at least for me. Jamie, the baby was definitely the star and Jared- oh my-he was wonderful in all ways but especially with Jamie. This was a delightful feel good romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. Recommended.

What I found interesting in this book was that three people had very disparate goals (and, yes, I'm including the adorable baby Jamie) and that I found each viewpoint believable and worth cheering on. Which means that I was hoping the three would find common ground but having no faith that it could happen. Like the New Orleans setting, the book simmered with tension. I thought Mrs. Giraux a terrific foil for the situation with Jared and Jenny and a wonderful character, too. I'd recommend the book for those who like romance that deals with the push/pull issues of adventuring in exotic locations versus establishing roots and family in a small town.

A heartwarming story of how a sweet baby brings together two people who previously had wildly different plans for their futures. Set in the heat of a New Orleans summer, this pair lives together with the goal of allowing Jared to heal and Jenny to care for the baby he’s responsible for. Living under the same roof pushes them to test out a physical relationship, which both regret almost immediately. Jenny and Jared had been hurt in the past, providing solid reasons for keeping their distance initially. Only through one character’s major shift in thinking do they get to enjoy a happily ever after.
