95 Million Possums in New Zealand. What if they needed to be eradicated? What if it all went horribly wrong and they stopped becoming plant eaters and liked human flesh instead?
My new book Drifta 2 is out there now. Some new characters and adventures as Drifta faces the biggest challenge yet. To save the human race on Earth from self destruction. Yeah, there will be good guys, bad guys and a story laced with humour. As I hopefully raise a smile I'll also try to get people to think a little more deeply of how we are all one people on one planet. As I try to keep safe in this Covid riddled world, at least I have the opportunity to be creative. Painting is my other arty passion and I was on a B A in fine art until recently. Health issues put an end to that. But I still paint and write and I am well into a completely new adventure but with no pressure to write it, I see sometime next year to be published. In the meantime I'm excited to have a lovely rescue Staffordshire Bull Terrier to live with me and we are going to have so much fun. Make the best of your lives, think of the positives and dive into the future.
That's it for now. So, keep safe and we'll all get out of this mess together. Thanks
I can't really put a finger on what the story misses. I think it's mainly that the story line had more potential than what the story is now and the flatness of all the characters. The first part was nice to read and would have made (with some alterations) a good ending. The second part however could have been a lot better. The whole built-up to the finale in the stadium was boring and mostly uneventful. I also think the possum attack in the stadium would have been better written from the view of someone sitting in the audience instead of the TV station guys.
Overall it is a nice easy read, which gives you a view of what can happen when we meddle whit nature too much.

Good. Zero science behind any of it. Would have liked to feel the research or something to make it resonate. James Herbert wrote Rats. I will take that story over this similar story
Ok, there are probably hundreds of stories about critters who turn bad and start killing everything. But it had been a while I read one of those, and it is fast-paced, has a couple nice twists in it and... it's about possums!! One of my favorite critters. So, I really enjoyed this book. Only the ending was a bit disapointing for me. Not that the end was bad, but it wasn't the end I was hoping for.
