Bree fled, thinking she had all the answers, Todd stayed, feeling betrayed! This is a fun romantic read, my only complaint is as to how easily Bree lets Todd off at the start of the book! Seriously if a guy stops talking to me for 3 months he would be in a world of pain! It is in all a fun, easy romance with a few hot moments in the middle! Quite a few steamy moments! WaAr!
If I could hug Aneesa right now I would I think I would go as far as kissing her cheek :) I totally loved this story and found myself falling in love with the characters and not wanting the story to end.
It was such a refreshing change from all the angst you get with a third person being involved there was none of that and I’m glad there wasn't. This is simply a story about two people dealing with their guilt, anger, betrayal and falling in love again and I loved every minute of it.
Bree is such a likeable character yes she made a mistake about not telling Todd about his daughter but when she comes back to the town and the people she ran away from she tells Todd straight away about Amber. She is a great mum and it takes courage to come back and lay it out to Todd like she does and she takes full responsibility for her mistake.
Todd is left shocked by Bree's confession but takes to his role as a father really well and forms a bond with Amber really quickly. They both have feelings still for one another which lead to some spicy scenes but Bree can't deal with her feelings and the end up in a big argument. When friends and family interfere and Bree faces her problems and she tells Todd what is going on with her he becomes her friend again and their bond becomes stronger. I loved the ending it left me feeling all warm inside and Todd is just so romantic I think I might get hubby to read this so he can get some ideas :) IF you want a sweet and heart-warming story then this book is for you I highly recommend it.
"Home for Love" by Aneesa Price is a sweet and steamy romance about single mother Bree, who after seven years absence returns to her home town Devil's Peak in Alaska. She reconnects with Todd, her childhood sweetheart and the father of her daughter Amber, who up until then did not know about Amber's existence. The two manage to come to an amicable arrangement about the child care but his mistrust of her and her distant behaviour towards him make a rekindling of their romance seem impossible. Bree and Todd are great characters, believable as grown ups who have the best interest for their child at heart, both dealing with issues beyond their love life and struggling with life in their small and sometimes claustrophobic community. Price seems to be in her element in the romance genre, confident, charming and cheeky. A welcome change from love stories that are overly complicated or hyped up, this was a very pleasant read.
I really struggled with this book. The basic premise was there, but I really had some issues and questions. Todd and Bree were high school sweethearts; Bree's parents don't approve (understatement) because Todd's family isn't the best. Todd's father (who's been absent most of the time) dies, and Todd steps up to take care of his siblings because his mother is an alcoholic. He leaves and doesn't contact Bree for several months. In the meantime, Bree learns she's pregnant. Her parents force her to leave Alaska and then treat her like dirt, forcing her to live in a crummy little (dangerous) apartment and earn her own way to college, even though they could well afford to help her. When Bree's parents are killed, she returns to Alaska with her seven year old daughter, Amber; she springs the news on Todd, who is, understandably, angry. Half the town proceeds to try to manipulate Todd and Bree into a relationship.
My questions and observations: Todd's reasons for not contacting Bree for months after his father died were lame; they repeatedly refer to one another as having been best friends, but who just leaves and doesn't contact their best friend, with whom they are also in love? Bree was a legal adult; why/how could her parents force her to leave Alaska? Could she not have just stayed with her grandparents, who were much more supportive and understanding? It's not as if Bree's horrible parents were helping her with the baby or financially, or in any other way. Why did Bree's parents force her to leave Alaska only to (more or less) abandon her once they moved to the lower 48? Why did we have to spend so much time on Bree's "mummy tummy"? Really? After one child? And it felt like it went on and on and on. Mummy tummy, ugh.
I had a difficult time warming up to Amber, the daughter. It's hard to put my finger on what it was. Perhaps she was just a shade too precocious for my liking, but I didn't care about her at all (and I love children).
Finally -- and this is the biggie! -- the editing on this book was atrocious! I'm very well aware that it's hard to self-publish a perfect book; I have yet to do it. But some of the things were so awful they simply jumped off the page! When I went back (three times) to read reviews again, thinking I was missing something, I noticed the author uses an editor who charges for her services; Ms. Price needs to request a refund. My twelve year old daughter could have edited this book more accurately. How does a professional editor not catch some of these typos, misused words, grammatical errors and simply wrong words? How does a professional editor not catch the phrase "she wove at Todd's back"? WOVE? Wove has NEVER been past-tense for wave.
This could have been a good novella if some of the repetitive rehashing of who was wrong seven years ago had been taken out. And it needs a serious proof-reading by someone else.
This is book is more HOME FOR ANNOYANCE. A friend asked to read so I could share my thoughts because she thought she is being to harsh on it. There are only 198 pages, I should be done centuries ago but the heroine is so ridiculous I have to put it down a lot. So far, making it really short, Then time also passes in the present (she also know I hate time gaps). Lol.. What a friend I will not review this when I finish it, but I have to say thisEnough now. I will ask my friend why she adked me to read this LOL.
Where to start with this one? The author created an amazing read that I very much enjoyed. I fell in love with this story and I'm so glad I decided to read it. The cover had me second guessing my decision because I'm not one for an overly romantic story. Since the title includes "contemporary romance" I gave it a try. I'm very happy that I did.
The plot runs smoothly and the characters are very loveable. Bree is the main character who moves back home to Alaska to be with her family and introduce her daughter, Amber to her father Todd. Todd has no idea of Amber's existence until Bree moves back home after six years. I love how Todd steps up to the plate and fathers Amber the best he can. The relationship that grows quickly between Amber and her father is very heartwarming.
Bree and Todd get's off to a rocky start after a morning of hurtful words are said. After reading this scene it showed me that each character has their own flaw and their not perfect, which I love. Although I guessed the ending, I very much enjoyed the read. There's a part of me that wishes it was a bit longer so I could see a bit more into their lives but every story that has a happy ending needs to end somewhere.
I strongly recommend this book to those who love a touch of love in their romances without it going overboard.
Bree and Todd were high school sweethearts, on their last night together, Bree gets pregnant. Her family moves away and she never tells Todd about it. Years later, after the death of her parents, Bree moves back to her home town. She tells Todd about his daughter and he is shocked, angry, and hurt, he has missed out on his daughters life and can never get that time back. He is going to try his hardest to be the best dad he can be now though. There is tension between Todd and Bree, some good and some bad. They will have to learn to deal with their issues in order to co-parent, and maybe in the process, they can learn to love each other. This was a sweet story. I really enjoyed the relationship between Todd and Bree, rocky as it was. I loved that you finally get to read about a dad that wants to be a dad, and a good dad at that and not yet another deadbeat. Typical small town interference is something the characters have to learn to deal with and overcome. The realism of this story is something that a lot of people can relate to and the characters are so well developed that you feel like they could be your next door neighbor. I absolutely loved this book and would say you are missing out big time if you don't read it now.
Wow, what can I say? Aneesa wrote an irresistible novel that I couldn’t put down!
After her parent’s death, Bree moves back to her native Alaska to be closer to her grandparents, but a move that’s not so easy to make, as she needs to confront her high school love and tell him that they have a six year-old child. From there, the story takes you on twists and turns, ups and downs of Bree and Todd’s relationship, having to deal with past demons, current issues, mistakes and misunderstandings.
The one thing Bree and Todd always had was chemistry and the chemistry sizzles in this book. Aneesa did a fantastic job building the romantic tension, and once released, the real roller coaster begins. This is a story about human emotion, rekindling your one true love but needing to deal with real life issues before reconnecting on a physical level.
As I said, I couldn’t put this book down. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next and what Aneesa delivered was a true love story complicated by life. I found this to be an extremely enjoyable read and would highly recommend it!
Another hit ~ no matter what genre this author writes it’s amazing and Home for Love is equal to all her other books. Exceptionally well written with flawless character development, this book will give you that happy feeling that all good romance books give you. I’ll re-read this book time and time again, and fall in love with the characters every time. I was completely drawn into this story, and the characters soon became real, leaving me hoping for the happy ending that was surely to come.
Bree and Todd used to be a couple in high school but were seperared for years. Bree moves back to Alaska with his child, Amber, and tries to make up for lost time and hoping he will forgive her for keeping his child a secret. Great story about love and how given a chance it can conquer all. WaAR

Home for Love by Aneesa Price was a sweet love story and very enjoyable to read.
Bree and Todd were high school sweethearts. On their last night together, Bree gets pregnant. She moves away with her parents and never tells Todd about the baby. Seven years later, after the death of her parents, Bree moves back to Devil’s Peak, Alaska to be closer to her grandparents. Once back in town, she visits Todd to tell him that he has a six-year-old daughter named Amber. As the story progresses, you are taken through the ups and downs of Bree and Todd’s relationship, dealing with pass issues, current problems, and misunderstandings as they try to co-parent their daughter.
I really found Bree to be a great character. She is a very protective, loving, and caring person to her family, especially her daughter. I did not agree with her decision to not tell Todd she was pregnant, but after reading and understanding the reasons behind it, I completely get it. I was really proud of her when she finally decided to tell Todd about Amber. She was scared of how he would react, but she was strong enough to tell him the truth. Todd is such a sweet guy! I loved everything about him. His life is completely turned upside down when Bree tells him that he has a daughter. Being the amazing guy that he is, he steps up right away, not wanting to waste another minute of being without his daughter. He was a wonderful father. He was protective of Amber from the minute he met her. You really get to see how sweet Todd is as his relationship with Bree progresses through the book.
“I remember how beautiful you were.” His voice was thick, husky, and prickled her insides. “You’re more beautiful now,” he said, before swooping down for a kiss.”
As I was reading, I saw how much Todd cared about Bree and wanted nothing more than to be with her. Some of the scenes that they had together were so sweet and romantic, and the things he said just made your heart melt.
“You leave me mindless,” Todd rasped. “You’re what every man wishes they had and what I’m privileged enough to experience.”
I definitely liked Bree’s friend Shelly. She was an amazing friend to Bree. Even though they had not seen each other since before Bree left, their relationship didn’t seem to change. Shelly was always there for Bree, no matter what. She was willing to help Bree through any issues she was facing. Everyone should have a friend like Shelly.
“You’re the best friend anyone could ever ask for.”
I really enjoyed this book. I think it was a very sweet love story. It was very heartwarming and dealt with something that is true to life. Even though it is a story, this could be a situation that someone is actually going through. I have to say that Aneesa did a really good job with this story. I enjoyed the characters because they were so lovable and I really connected with them.
Aneesa Price provided BestSellers & bestsellers with an unedited copy of Home for Love to review. There were some errors that I found, but they did not take away from the story. I had to go back a few times to clarify certain lines, but this can be expected with an unedited version. The quality of writing was great. The story was beautiful and kept me interested.
Team Todd!! Yes Please! An extremely satisfying read full of emotion, heart, laughter, & sexiness! This story brought some very real issues to light, & I enjoyed experiencing them through Bree's eyes. (Todd's too.) Showing peoples trials is the easy part, but bringing together solutions along with such humor & intense feeling made this a perfect balance for me! All in all a refreshing twist to problems many of us may have gone through at some point in our lives. I found myself laughing, wiping away tears, & yelling at a few characters as if that would make them see the light. ;*) Truly difficult to put this book down! I instantly knew I'd like Bree, Todd, Grandad, & Gran. Just a few chapters in confirmed that! :D Oh....I just adore Amber!!! She's absolutely precious!! One of my other favorite characters though is Shelly! I love her & Bree's friendship/sisterhood, & her raw truths that she blurts out!! But....the "meddling" elders were the absolute best in my opinion! ;-) The love that you feel coming from these people is genuine, & reminds me so much of people in my life. The things we take for granted since we aren't usually included in such behind the scene meddlings (or at least not to our knowledge anyway! HaHaHa) Todd however could Woo me any day! =D Home for Love definitely brought Family to a whole new level in a true sense. A fun read that I will definitely me reading again. I've loved every book that I've read by Aneesa Price thus far!! :) I can't wait to read the next!
Home For Love was a good book to pick up. Not so much to put it down, since you didn't want to. Make sure you have plenty of time allotted for this one, you'll want to read it from cover to cover in one sitting.
Bree moved back home to Alaska to live with her grandparents and give her daughter, Amber, the family she's always wanted. Upon coming home, she knew she would have to tell Amber's father about her. Todd didn't know he had a child, let alone one that was already 6! Understandably, he was hurt. Follow this story of how a teenage romance turns into the love of a family as Todd and Bree work through their issues surrounding Amber's birth.
Personally, my favorite part was when the group got together to decide how to best interfere with Todd and Bree's relationship. I loved the way Daniel (Bree's grandfather) put a stop to it.
Sadly, I just wasn't really all that impressed. The story line was rather uneventful and predictable. I didn't feel like I got a really good feel for Todd enough to really care. I really hate giving negative reviews, but the ebook was riddled with errors that sometimes made it confusing (not just spelling errors). I was also annoyed by the character's use of the word tummy (I know, it's weird), but it totally didn't feel like anything a 25 year old would say. Stomach- yes, abs- most definitely, but tummy, really?! *Sigh* It was mildly entertaining to where I wanted to finish it, but I just wasn't feeling it.
Oh my goodness.. what an emotional romance book. Ms. Price you out did yourself!.. I'm not getting much sleep as I can't put down certain books and yours was one of them! Bree and Todd what a pair..lol I think she gave him way too much leeway, but to each their own.. my guy would of been up the creek without a paddle. I was definitely pulled in and couldn't believe how true life this could be for some. I have to say my favorite character was Bree's Grandpa... lots of family involvement. To see what surprise Bree had for Todd..lol you'll have to read.. ;)) Its a choker.
I really liked the book! It was a very sweet story of love and the journey our heart takes! The characters were very likable and I enjoyed the home town feel. I read some of the reviews after I was finished and I hate to see when people home in on small grammar mistakes in the book. Review the story not the edit!! Aneesa did a great job with bringing you in and touching your heart! Two thumbs up :)
Seven years ago Bree fled Devil's Peak, Alaska, disillusioned with her high school romance and with a baby in her belly. Now, she's back and seeing Todd again challenges her carefully constructed plans for amicable co-parenting. Todd vows to keep her at arm's length. Bree has no interest in rekindling their relationship and is focused on settling into the town. This is a sweet story with lots of history of Alaska. Love is always a welcome addition to any story. 5 stars!
Absolutely loved this book, The story was very heart-warming and true to life. This story could be a real life story for so many!! It felt so real to me, the characters, the story line everything! I am not a big contemporary romance reader, but I couldn't put this book down!! I highly recommend to every romance reader.
i live in Alaska and this book was wonderfully close to actually living here. i feel that this book managed to capture the magic of the surrounding as well as the magic of love. this book was an amazing read and Amber, Bree, and Todd are so well woven together that you can feel what they feel as the story goes along. i really enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it to everyone.
A wonderful and romantic story of a family coming together and moving on from a challenging past. Wonderfully written and highly entertain story with characters you can't help but root for and fall in love with.
Ok I loved almost everything about this story except for the ending.... What? So boy.... girl.... 2 boys.... 2 girls.... a boy and a girl? which is it? you can't leave me hanging like that.... that wasn't very nice
I really enjoyed this story, a sweet love story separated by misunderstanding, two hearts broken, one life created. It's a good read, great characters & a emotion tugging, heart warming & feel good time
I love this book! Sweet love story, with some steamy scenes & some humor.... It had me literally laughing out loud, my heart ache & tears in my eyes... Aneesa Price done a wonderful job!!!!
A sweet story of a woman returning to her hometown to set things right. Six years ago, Bree left with a broken heart and pregnant. Now she's back. It's time to let Todd know he has a daughter and give them a chance to build a relationship. Of course, it's not as easy as that. There are hard feelings to work past, as well as everyone's ego, wants and desires.
Price makes good use of her knowledge of the human psyche in her character development. Her depiction of life in Alaska felt very well researched. I found this to be a fairly simple, straight-forward story without much of the drama that can overwork and over complicate many romance books. That's not to say that drama in romance is tiresome because there are times I want that.
I found this book just a bit too predictable and not as captivating as her Coffin Girls series. There were several errors (punctuation, spelling, incorrect word usage and awkward phrasing in places) missed in editing that detracted from the reading experience, though not enough to reduce the star rating. The errors are not quite so numerous as to warrant pulling the book off the shelves. This is a nice story that would definitely benefit from additional proofreading/editing. If what you're looking for is a gentle, easy moving romance, then this is the book for you. I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A truly heartwarming and touchingly romantic read......
This is one for the ages. From the beginning, it touches your emotions within the friendship of Bree and Todd, and their special love for each other.
Then as they are parted, they each encounter some life altering circumstances in their personal lives. Through the loss of a parent, the unexpected pregnancy and birth of a child, to the reuniting of two people who have to truly find their way back to the love and care of one another. Yes, a little precious being named Amber helps to solidify this union on some points. But it takes love, care and the respect of each other and of themselves personally. With the love and help of those around them, their eyes are opened to the beauty that was and can be once more.
Author Aneesa Price does a beautiful job in expressing and executing a wonderful and impressively genuine great read. It is truly heartwarmingly romantic and will touch your emotions. Romance that spans time and will brighten your day. ~WaAr~ Read and Reviewed on 17 de Febrero/February 2014.

This is the third of Ms. Price's books I have read, and the second one I have said something like this: "The story was good, the premise solid, but the editor did her no favors." Truly, I am not THAT picky about grammar, spelling, and punctuation, but there does come a point where it detracts from the story and becomes distracting.
This is a heartwarming story about second chances in the face of responsibility, love, and growing up. I could really feel for Bree and her situation, how hard the six years preceding this book would have been for her. Bree's character was wonderfully flawed and relatable, even when freaking out you can just get why she feels as she does. Todd was a sweetheart, a true Prince Charming or Knight in Shining Armor, or whatever cliche you want to use. Maybe a little over the top with how understanding and forgiving he was, but hey that just adds to his charm. :) This is just an all-around "feel good" story and I loved it!
I really feel that this book does deserve 5 stars based on the story alone, but unfortunately the poor editing does take away from it, so until there is a massive editing overhaul, I can only give it 4.
