This is a very informative read about writing dialogue. And I really enjoyed reading it. The book is packed full of tips and information. It also has some good examples so you can really see the tips and advice in action. I also appreciated the summary and practical exercise ideas at the end of the chapters. I liked the author's writing style and how he used the same dialogue scene multiple times to show different pieces of advice. I also liked how the tone was explanatory, but not forceful or saying you have to write something a certain way. I liked this open and accepting style.

If you want to know more about writing dialogue, I would definitely recommend this book!

It surprised me how practical this short book was. It's full of tips and explanations without being preachy or inaccessible. I tabbed the heck out of this book and wish I highlighted directly in it! The reason it's not 5 stars is because of the book's formatting - the paperback version has a typo or two (which I could ignore) but the formatting feels a little unpolished to me; it has wide margins and sans serif font. It just felt a little distracting and contrast to all the great information inside, but many people may not even notice or care! Overall an excellent writing resource.

I have always struggled with my dialogue, and this craft book is an excellent help to me to improve my dialogue. I just read the book while on holiday, so I will re-read it and take notes, when I get back from my holiday. Also, the book is a short and easy read, to the point and full of hands on advice. I hate heavy craft books.
