I read this quite awhile ago and I remember I was disappointed in it. It looked quite good from the description. I read it at the same time one of my friends read it. I never felt engrossed or even found myself caring much for the characters. It's been too many years now to remember specifics.

I liked it, reminded me a little of the Clan of the Cave Bear books. Loved those. Interesting to imagine what it must have been like back then.
