When David Palmer graduated from high school, married his high school sweetheart, and enrolled in the University of Chicago with enough college credit to be a junior, he was well on his way to live the rest of his life in normalcy. Settling down, having three children, and earning a middle-class household income were all the adventure David wanted.
In the wrong place at the wrong time, David becomes captive to a tragedy that steals any hope that he will lead a normal or quiet life. A victim of the latest public massacre, David is left in a coma for ten months, only to wake and find that the shooting has taken more from him than he imagined possible while leaving him with an epileptic disability.
With everything taken from him, David resigns himself to a life with no purpose. At least, that is how he planned to live until he finds that, in place of what he has lost, he has been given a new gift – an extraordinary gift that provides him with visions of the future and compels him to pursue justice against those who altered his life.
The Triangle is the first book in The Visions of David Palmer series.
My Mission Statement: To provide entertaining, thrilling, and thought-provoking literary works that encourage moral values and inspire positive action.
I enjoyed the mystery of this book. I was drawn in right from the start. The mystery surrounding the main character was what kept me turning each page. This is a fun read especially if you are familiar with the television show "Chuck". Appropriate book for YA and teens to read. Enjoy!
"The Visions of David Palmer: The Triangle" is the first book in the "The Visions of David Palmer" series -- but actually comes to a valid ending! (You don't need to get the next book in the series to understand the current story, but I might anyway because I liked this one.)
David is a victim of another mall massacre. In fact, he's the only survivor, although he ended up in a coma for 10 months. One side-effect of the coma/shooting is the seizures that he keeps getting -- and the visions that he sees while he's "under". One of his first visions has his wife (who was killed in the massacre) giving him a "present", which he finally figures out is the visions, which turn out to be quite prophetic. Through them, he meets a young woman who maintains that the massacre did not go down the way it's portrayed, and that the supposed perpetrator who then committed suicide was not in fact the shooter. When the two get together, they try to find out exactly what happened that day and who is responsible. Which of course puts them directly in the sights of the "bad guys", known to themselves as "The Triangle".
Another I started, another I deleted. Another not properly edited or proofread. I don't get it. Why sit for hours and days and months writing a book, creating a story THEN not having it checked before putting it out there for public consumption ? The story again sounded interesting but it was ruined for me. We started off with his normal "causal" as opposed to casual clothes then random capital letters used for Trophies or Traffic, a sentence that needed a comma and not a fullstop as it continued and I gave in on page 30 when he writes "Life is depressing Liz". I also didn't understand how he's in a coma for 10 months, wakes up and they send him home the next day ? Then we learn his parents sold his house cos' they couldn't keep up with the mortgage but also he and his wife had life insurance and he was well off. So I was confused by that. But I won't be reading anymore of this series that HAD sounded promising.

The original description of the book seemed to be rather vague, but intriguing. In reading the book I found that this vague description was actually very well done because it provided enough interest for me to want to read the book, but kept enough of the important details a secret. The plot twists in this book were unexpected and somewhat confusing at times, but overall very well done. I really enjoyed reading this and hope to read more from this author!
The Visions of David Palmer: The Triangle has the perfect balance of exciting adventure, nerve racking thrills and romance. I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. Enjoyed the twists that threw me off of what I thought might happen next. I liked how the ending left me wanting to get to the next book as quickly as possible. I can't wait to read the next book! I would definitely recommend this book.
This book was so much fun! It had all the right elements: intrigue, romance (but clean romance, which is hard to come by!), action, adventure, a great plot and mystery, and solid characters. The best thing was that it kept me turning pages--I couldn't put it down and stayed up until 2 in the morning to finish it!--and there was no language or anything inappropriate to worry about. Perfect fun!
A fast paced, action packed story that kept me wondering til the very end. This book is well written with dynamic characters and scenarios that are realistic. I reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense, mystery and/or adventure. I received this book from Goodreads for free.
This book was so exciting! It had all my favorite genres wrapped into a nice package, action, adventure, mystery, and romance! Can't wait for the next book.
