All the Way by Jennifer ProbstThe food critic…Miranda Storme never expected to see Gavin Luciano again. Three years ago, they had an intense affair—and then he bolted. Now he's back, and Miranda has the pleasure of a little a scathing review of his restaurant. Revenge is a dish best served the first chance you get…And the restaurateur…With three months to make his family's struggling Italian restaurant successful, a bad review is Gavin's worst nightmare. But this isn't just about the meal. He's finally realized what he left behind and is determined to spend the next eight weeks proving himself to her in the kitchen…and in the bedroom! This is one dish she won't be able to refuse...

"Because I knew it wasn’t over the moment you looked into my eyes. "Who knows where the road will lead us, but if you let me love you, I’ll love you all the way.’"
So I have a weakness...I know, I know, you're probably shocked and appalled right now! I mean ME, having a weakness...crazy! But I digress...
I have a weakness for 'the boy and girl meet and have an affair, girl falls in love, boy leaves and breaks her heart, but now he realizes he wants her back' story line. It doesn't matter how many times I read it. Any time I'll see that description in the book blurb, all I think is But I digress yet again.
Three years ago Miranda and Gavin had a hot affair. She had dreams to be a chef, and he had dreams to see the world and be a successful and rich business man. Miranda falls head over heals for Gavin. But when she tells him his feelings, he bolts
Now Miranda is a successful food critic, and Gavin is back in town, on leave from his job, in order to help his parents with their failing family restaurant.
So when Miranda and her friend decide to go eat at a good Italian place, it just so happens to be Gavin's family restaurant
Shocking, I know!
When Gavin sees Miranda, he just knows he has to get her back. Unfortunately Miranda never forgave him for walking out on her and breaking her heart. When Gavin sees that the passion between them is still there, he knows that the only way to prove his sincerity to her is through romance.
Miranda doesn't believe that Gavin is serious this time around. After all, he's left her before. She doesn't want to give him her heart only to have him break it all over again when he leaves. I have to say that given the things that Miranda is hiding from her past, her hesitation toward Gavin was understandable.
Gavin was absolutely swoon-worthy. I loved how he pursued Miranda. The romance was very cute, and not in a cheesy way. Miranda is only able to resist his charming ways for so long. Gavin is possessive and dominant, and no man has been able to compare to him since. She has only been with "tame" men since him...
This was a cute, sexy, and quick little read. Not my favorite by the author or something I'd choose to re-read, but highly enjoyable nonetheless.
I wouldn't miss it for the world. Jennifer, you're such a stubborn...
EDIT 07/12/14
*si schiarisce la voce*
E va bene, dai. Lo sapevamo tutti come sarebbe andata a finire, no?
Poco importa come andrà a finire, perché CHI NON SE LO IMMAGINA COME VA A FINIRE? Nessuna azione.
Lei: Miranda Storme, famosissima critica gastronomica dell'importantissima rubrica *facepalm* Miranda mangia *facepalm*.
*Matteo, Marco e Luca. Giovanni l'hai già preso, non dovresti sbagliarti.
All The Way is sexy, sweet and it’s a total “foodie” romance. And as usual, another job well done by Ms. Probst. She never fails to deliver a wonderful contemporary romance. ~Under The Covers
All The Way is sexy, sweet , and it’s a total “foodie” romance. And as usual, another job well done by Ms. Probst. She never fails to deliver a wonderful contemporary romance.
What would you do if you cross paths with someone who broke your heart? Run the other way or face him and get revenge for all the heart aches he’s given you. Miranda Storme gets her chance. She bumps into her ex, Gavin Luciano in his family owned restaurant. Ironically, she is now a food critic and has all the capability to get back at him. The question is, what will Karma give back.
Gavin is close to a partnership at a well known law firm but is held up to help with Mia Casa, his family’s restaurant. He will have to face his family, friends , and the biggest mistake he’s made in the past and will be forced to make big decisions. Karma, as we all know, can be a bitch or a friend depending on what is deserved, something Gavin strongly believes in. Well, as it is due, Karma will be served cold , and Gavin will have to eat it all up.
I love that Gavin and Miranda got their second chance with love and I love that the only baggage they have been the mess they created for themselves. There was never a feeling of intsta-love , but more like insta-understanding of what they were to each other From the time they meet again and as soon as Gavin called Miranda “Red”, you know they had something more than a one night stand. It will definitely be a journey for both of them , and it’s a love story I truly enjoyed.
The unforgettable secondary characters included Gavin’s Pop, who could not stop quoting Frank Sinatra; Anthony, the Chef who was passionate about his menu and Brando, Gavin’s Brother who seems to have big sibling rivalry going on. I have a feeling we will see a lot more of them in the future.
All the Way was originally not a start of a series , but I was told that book two is in the making and it will be Gavin’s younger brother Brando. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until 2014. On the up side, we know Probst will write another great story that is worth the wait. And if you have not read the Marriage To A Billionaire series, it’s one I highly recommend.
If you like Louisa Edwards or Victoria Dahl, you WILL LOVE Jennifer Probst.
I have never read this author before. If I have to judge from this novel I am not going to try again. But it is well known I am not a fan of contemporary romance. So please keep this in mind.
Three quick reasons I didn't like this short novel. 1. I really dislike the idea of a woman who is unable to forgo the past and cannot live after a man left her. It's a common refrain of mine. Yes she can still be in some pain after three years. But not like this. 2. He is a jerk but mostly a stalker. I don't find his behavior romantic nor sexy. A no is no is a no. It's not flirting. He totally ignore her wishes. 3. Settings are important. I don't know how a restaurant really operates. I doubt that is real or they wouldn't survive.
The stereotypes of the Italians are pretty strong. A little less cliche would have been better. I do know Italian and Mia Casa is wrong. It's not Spanish where this word order is accepted. It's the other way round in this context. I forced myself to keep reading. A DNF would have been my first choice.
This was a quite enjoyable story that took more twists and turns than I’d expected. It starts as your typical boy meets girl, has a whirlwind romance, then he leaves, but then comes back after way too long. I really appreciated the fact that she didn’t just accept him back, no questions asked, but rather they both worked towards reconciliation. Probst puts elements of reality into this fairy tale like story. She also takes the time to develop her characters as individuals. This goes for both the main characters and the supporting cast, giving an overall rounded feeling to the story.
As a whole this was a quick, enjoyable read. It was my introduction to the author and will definitely lead to me picking up some more of her work.
Didn’t really care for this one. Miranda/h spent at least 90% of the bk playing the victim. I'd have made the H work for it too but she goes overboard. Tired of both the H/h by the time this bk was over.
This was an okay read. It wasn't super original and obvious what was going to happen, but I didn't have high expectations anyway. Miranda was a food critic, which is a cool job. She was seeing Gavin and really cared for him, but he left her for a high paying job and never got in contact again. Now he's back and wants a second chance. I must be in a sullen mood, because I wanted her to tell him to F*** off and never look back lol. Of course they try dating again and it seems to go well. But Miranda isn't sure if she can ever fully trust Gavin not to run away. Not overly exciting, but not too bad either. Sorry this is a blah review.
All The Way is the first book I’ve read written by Jennifer Probst. Since last year, I’ve wanted to read her works, and after reading them, I’ve realized that I should start sooner. I fell in love as soon as I started reading. I absolutely love it. The book does not disappoint in the least, and I think it’s the first book I’ve read this year.
The heroine, Miranda, is now a very successful food critic, but never in a million years imagined that she would see Gavin Luciano again, the man who broke her heart years ago.
Gavin Luciano,oh my…What a man. I've always had a soft spot for Italian heroes. *swoon* I absolutely adored and loved him. His sexuality, his dominance, vulnerability, and masculinity are all over the pages. He’s such a good man with a big heart (so much for being a heartbreaker as Miranda sees him). Gavin is definitely a swoon-worthy character.
I also enjoyed Andy’s character and his platonic relationship with Miranda. I totally loved their funny and witty banter. And Gavin’s dad and his Frank Sinatrism. Haha!
Will Gavin be able to win Miranda’s heart and trust again? And will Miranda realize that her heart still belongs to Gavin and trust him never to walk away from her again?
It was indeed a good book that I was unable to put down. Suppose you enjoy a short romance story, a hot and lovable Italian hero, and a sweet and tough heroine. I highly recommend All The Way to you! :)
A typical 2nd chance love story. Nothing new going on in this book and I am sorry to say that I got bored through some scenes and was just speed reading them, just not exciting enough and just not much happening really. It was also very predictable at times. But I will say that I did like the relationship between Gavin and Miranda and I enjoyed the scenes that involved them. I am not saying that this is a bad book at all, it just didn´t go anywhere for me, there was just something missing for me.
First I'm gonna pick some words that describe the book:
Broken hearts / love / friendship / abandone / adult / passion / food / cooking / business / family / money / power / ...
I must say that I love Jennifer Probst as an author. Her books always get me in a relaxed mood with laughter and understanding. I read the 'married with a Billionaire' series and I'm reading the 'Searching for' series and I really love those!
That's why I'm disappointed in this one. There's not much 'deep' to the story. I didn't like the characters as much as the other books and I wasn't so thrilled to keep reading.
So for all of you who want to read such kind of books I'd recommend the 'married with a Billionaire' and the 'Searching for' series. They're really enjoyable and lovable!
3.5 stars Fun enjoyable read. This is a second chance trope. Three years ago, Gavin and Miranda had an affair but when Miranda declared her love, Gavin freaked out and run away. But during those long three years he discovered that, although he had fulfilled his goal and succeeded in his career, he cant take Miranda out of his mind . Now he is back to help save his family restaurant. Miranda is a well-known food critic. One bad review from her and the restaurant will go under. But there is much more. The attraction is still as strong as ever but Miranda is fighting him every step of the way. I liked that Gavin knows he has screwed up and he wants Miranda's forgiveness. The book is one long grovel. Gavin is determined to win back Miranda's trust and love again.
Her neyse... Kitap klasik bir Jennifer Probst kaleminden oluşuyordu. Yani tatlı bir aşk hikâyesi okudum.
If you like any of Jennifer Probst's Marriage Bargain books, you'll love All the Way. Though this is a different storyline than that of one ending or beginning in marriage like the books in the series, All the Way follows a similar pattern of conflicting feelings of love and lust. This is a great read for those of us who like a bit of romantic predictability mixed with passionate love scenes.
Pretty standard 2nd chance romance. Guy and girl hookup, guy wants sex, girl wants more. Guy leaves. Figures out he screwed up and girl makes him pay for his past stupidity.
I am loving all stories with groveling male assholes and this was no exception. I really liked Gavin and Miranda. And this author is great at writing steam.
Jennifer Probst is one of my favorite authors. I listened to the audiobook version of ALL THE WAY. A lovely second chance love story. Gavin had chosen career success, money, world travel, and power over his relationship with Miranda. A crisis with his family's business brings him back home after being away for three years. Despite his success Gavin knew he'd chosen poorly. Miranda isn't as easy to forgive and give him another chance as he had hoped. Gavin really has to work to prove he's serious this time and win back her heart. As It should be, lol. 3.5 stars.
A short romance from JP. Not as good as Marriage to Billionaire series but the author never fails to impressed me with her style. Cliche, yup, but still an enjoyable romance.
As usual, she's doing well in developing the characters; both main or supporting. Really enjoyed the chemistry between Gavin and Miranda, how they took time to understanding and forgiving each other. I adored Gavin who knows he has screwed up and now he is determined to win back Miranda’s trust and love again.
To conclude, if you enjoy simple yet sexy romance story, that come with hot and lovable Italian hero [reminds me of Michaelwiwiwi...] then this is definitely for you.
A word of advice.... DO NOT get the audio version of this book. It completely ruins the whole experience and makes the book just bad. I might have like it more but I absolutely could not STAND the narrator of this.
The story itself seemed a bit rushed and not as good as the other books I've read from Jennifer Probst. However, after I switched from the audio to just reading, it did become much more bearable.
Been waiting for another Jennifer Probst's creation. Ah, she never fails me. She's already included in my fave authors. If you're looking for a light, short, sexy, happy ending story then this one's definitely for you. :)
1.5 stars After reading two books by Jennifer Probst and immensely enjoying both of them, it shouldn't come as a big surprise the fact that I just couldn't wait to get my hands on her newest release with Entangled, All the Way. I was dying to read another sweet and at the same time impossibly sexy romance written in a way only Probst can deliver. Alas, All the Way was nothing like what I expected it to be and compared to the author's Marriage to a Billionaire series, it's quite inferior I'm afraid.
Like I said, I picked up All the Way feeling quite certain that I would enjoy it only to be thoroughly disappointed with it really soon. I mean after the first 5 chapters or maybe even sooner, it became quite apparent that this wasn't the book for me. Maybe the writing style was just as good as in the author's previous work, I won't disagree on that. Maybe the sex scenes were delivered in the same sexy and sinful way. I can't agree more on that either. But when I think of All the Way in its entirety all I can think of to describe it is really cheesy and with little redeeming qualities to balance that cheesiness and make me enjoy the story. Because all the other books I read by the author were again heavy on the cheesy part. But still, even so, I really enjoyed them because I could relate with the characters and the romance was delivered in such a way that honestly, I couldn't care less about anything else. Something that didn't happen with All the Way I'm afraid.
All the Way explores the second chance lovers trope and even if that isn't one of my favorite tropes I really enjoy those kind of stories most of the time. I find incredibly interesting exploring all the reasons that drove the couple apart in the past and seeing them get together again. Plus, in that trope the sexual tension is almost always more delicious since you have two people who were once together. At least the way I see it. In this story unfortunately, neither the reasons that drove the couple apart were interesting nor the tension between them was believable. I mean right where the story starts, Miranda and Gavin meet again after three years and a couple of chapters later Gavin is right in Miranda's house trying to seduce her just because he's a Dom. And don't get me started on that Dom part. Throughout the whole story Gavin is referred to as Dom a couple of times, but his relationship with Miranda isn't anything like the Dom/Sub relationship of a BDSM story one might expect. The Dom references are more to indicate that Gavin wants to control everything while he's having sex more than anything else. At least that's how I saw it since the sex scenes in this book didn't have anything real kinky in them. So here is where I wonder why on earth in a more or less sweet and typical romance the author felt the need to insert BDSM elements, that she wasn't willing to explore in the least. It was a major turn off for me. There were moments when I felt that I was reading a harlequin romance that wanted to magically transform into 50 Shades...
Apart from those unnecessary BDSM elements, I also had a hard time with the characters in this book. I disliked Gavin and I couldn't care less about Miranda... Miranda was an ok character I guess but the way she just caved to Gavin's requests didn't exactly make me love her. I didn't hate her, I just couldn't care for her. I didn't feel sorry for the way Gavin treated her, maybe I did a little bit at first, but after witnessing how her womb clenched upon seeing him after so many years and after being treated in such a way, well, whatever pity I felt for her, just vanished. Now Gavin on the other hand, is one of the most self centred characters I have ever read. The way he just wanted Miranda to forgive him everything and the way he thought that as soon as he understood his bad ways everyone should bow to his majesty was frustrating to say the least. Add to that the fact that he stalked Miranda and you can understand why I couldn't possibly like him. I like an undeniably alpha male in my romance but Gavin was way beyond the caveman line.
And now let's talk about the plot. Nothing new or fresh here I'm afraid. Like I said in the beginning, All the Way is incredibly cheesy and predictable. It follows every known cliche out there, making it really easy to guess where the story is going. So, when one adds a very predictable story to a set of characters I couldn't really like or care about, you can understand why I couldn't wait for this story to end.
It really pains me to write a negative review, especially for a book written by an author whose work I really enjoyed previously. But no matter how hard I tried, All the Way failed to impress me in every department. That doesn't mean though that I don't anxiously await for the 4th book in the Billionaire series. You can bet on that. It's just that this book, wasn't the right one for me.
