This is my first review ever, but the book was too good to pass up. I noticed that so many people have marked it to be read, and you won't be disappointed. I orignally picked up the Marriage Bargain as it was free from Amazon, and I usually like plots that are similiar. It was a decent read, and I noticed that the sequel was releasing soon after I finished the first one.
Andre de Laurent is the second son of a prominent French family. Although happy, he's always known that his older brother, Julian, would inherit everything. However, things change when their great-uncle passes away, leaving everything to Andre. Andre knows that this is his chance to step out of his brother's shadow. The will does have stipulations that have to be met, and Tasha Gordon is the right person to help Andre claim his future. Now, the only hard part will be convincing her.
This is a very quick read as you will be sucked into the story that you won't want to put down. In the Marriage Bargain, Tasha seems a little bit flighty even though she's Camille's best friend. However, in the Marriage Caper, the reader gets to see that she's not the average heroine. Most readers should be able to find a little bit of themselves in Tasha as you can't help but experience the emotional highs and lows as the story progresses. It's an emotional journey of two people who know they are meant to be but need a little help in seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
If you are emotionally sensitive to what you're reading, this may not be the book for you. However, it was tastefully done, and you won't want to miss out. I am just hoping there is a book three to complete the series!
The Marriage Caper: Billionaire Games Book 2 is written by Sandra Edwards. This book deals with secrets being kept about events prior to their country. The book is really interesting and catchy. It is a short book and easy to read in one sitting. Andre De Laurent has always hated parties, large or small. He hated fundraisers even more. Since it was money for his team, he would come late to the dinner. He would even be nice to Julian, his older brother. Andre wished he was in America with Tasha. She was the only girl he spent any time with. Andre had to attend a funeral of a man his father grew. He found out he was being forced to marry or lose a huge amount of money when the will of his Mother’s Uncle Renault was read if he didn’t marry soon and was to remain married for a year. Who in the world could he marry? Tasha, of course. He flew to America to marry her if she would marry him. To his surprise, Tasha was not interested in marrying him. However, to his surprise, she was ready. She was also pregnant with is child. Would his Aunt Heloise believe this marriage was real? That was questionable when his “mail-order Bride” showed up. He pretended to be in love with one attempt at a mail-order bride when she showed up. If Heloise learned the truth, she would give the ranch to her cousin. How could he show her that he and Taaha belonged together.
Andre was a second son born to a rich family but had no chance of inheriting the family assets. His brother was the heir apparent and all that was left was to have a child to make sure the family name continued. But things got complicate when the uncle the boys barely knew left his entire estate to Andre but with conditions. Those conditions would come to bite him on the hand when he remised in telling his true love why he really wanted to marry her. On the other hand his true love found out she was pregnant at the same time her friend was pregnant. Unfortunately the pregnancy was a no go but true love will always survive hard ships even when someone else tries to derail it.
I absolutely loved the first book in this series and just had to get my hands on this one when a tour for it came around. The first book, [[ASIN:1620612798 The Marriage Bargain (Marriage to a Billionaire)]], was all about Julian and Camille. Julian is the son of an extremely wealthy man who was being pressured into marriage by said wealthy man. He decided that instead of marrying the woman that his father picked out for him, he would hire a woman to pretend to be his wife. She would carry on the charade for a certain amount of time and then they would divorce. In return for her troubles, she would leave him as a VERY wealthy woman. Well of course love prevails and the two actually fall in love.
This story is about Julian's brother Andre. Andre has never had any real desire to get married until he meets Camille's best friend Tasha at Camille and Julian's wedding. He basically carries on a long distance affair with Tasha while knowing that if he ever were to marry, she was exactly what he wanted. Well Papa is up to his old tricks again. This time Papa doesn't pick a woman to force Andre into marrying, instead he convinces a distant uncle to give everything he owns to Andre upon his death with the stipulation that he must marry within 60 days of the reading of the will and remain married for a whole year. If this was the only stipulation in the will, Andre probably would have said no, but his brother and sister's inheritance also is on the line. He must marry in order for anyone to get anything. Th obvious choice is Tasha, which Papa already knew. His father finds a way to convince Andre that if he were to marry Tasha, he would not be forcing her to give up her dreams or to be in a situation that she doesn't already want. Well Andre immediately leaves France for California to tell Tasha all about the inheritance and to beg her to marry him. However, when he gets to her door he discovers she's pregnant with his child. What happens? Well they decide to get married of course! However, Andre decides to hide the initial reason for his marriage proposal from her, a move that is sure to come back to slap him in the face. What Andre doesn't know is that there is a very distant cousin plotting to destroy his marriage in order for the inheritance to be given to her. How will it turn out? Will Andre marry Tasha and live happily ever after? Will they do something to violate the stipulations of the will, thus losing everything? Read to find out!
Andre de Laurent is the second in line to his fathers fortune and has been brought up knowing that his brother will inherit the position and funds in his family. However, on the death of his late mothers uncle he finds out that he has inherited a fortune and in order to claim it, he has to marry and stay married for a year. Both his brothers inheritance and his sisters inheritance also are forfeited if the conditions are not met.
Tasha has been involved with Andre since her best friend got married to his brother. Andre has come over many times to visit her but she has been feeling unwell lately and her period is late. On the day she finally finds out for sure that she is pregnant Andre visits early and finds the test in the bathroom.
Married in the next few days Tasha and Andre leave America for Marseilles and Andre tells his family that they are to keep the condition quite from Tasha. He wants this as a real marriage and not for her to think in any way that he is marrying her for the money.
Once on their honeymoon Tasha is contacted by Camille, her best friend, that there was a stomach bug going around the work place and that she should immediately get checked out by the doctor. Both are pregnant and due at the same time. To the dismay of both Tasha and Andre the baby is not viable and has died already.
After a time to grieve the pair go back home and continue on with their life and her friends growing pregnancy. Tasha and Andre are set back when Tasha does not get pregnant.
The other heirs to the will that will get the money should the marriage not survive, plot their revenge against the marriage and on goes for the job of nanny to Camilles baby.
A thwarted plan however still rocks the couple, but Tasha will not let greedy people get their hands on the inheritance. Through a period of ups and downs the pair struggle with their emotions and her trust.
Andre is prompted by his step mother and before Julian in helping to get the marriage on track.
The book also has snippets in the points of view from other characters which helped to add to the story and gave us a better feel to the characters.
Tasha Gordon met Andre De Laurent when her best friend married his brother. The two were instantly attracted to each other and embarked on a light hearted, flirty affair. When Andre's maternal uncle died and left him a fortune with strings attached, he found himself in need of a wife and sought out Tasha with a lucrative offer. Before he could make it, Andre discovered she was pregnant and never let on his original purpose of a marriage proposal.
I was surprised that this story ended up being more substantive than the first. My first impression of Tasha painted her as more of a good time party girl, a bit self centered and ambitious. Fortunately, those first impressions weren't lasting and this marriage had a real shot at lasting as both Tasha and Andre's feelings for each other ran deeper than either of them knew. The secret Andre kept from her was certain to derail them if she ever found out and distant relatives played a role in trying to make that happen.
Certainly, there were fun moments but for the most part, this was a story of two people coming together for reasons other than love and ultimately creating a new relationship based on trust, commitment and genuine love. It is a mature story that had me run through a gamut of emotions. It was a most pleasant surprise and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
The Marriage Caper (Billionaire Games: Book 2)is 208 pages long and priced at $3.99. (Remember - check the boxed set price first before you buy them singly!) This story takes up after Julian & Camille have married - for real - and the couple for this book is Andre and Tasha. Tasha is Camille's best friend from the States and Andre is the "spare" of the de Laurent dynasty. Andre's mother's uncle passes away and leaves the bulk of his estate & holdings to Andre, with $50 million stipulations for both Julian and their half-sister, Lecie - but Andre must marry within 60 days and remain married for 1 year or else the will reverts to two very distant cousins. Unknown to them, one of those cousins is scheming to get the fortune.
This book was shorter than the first, but hit hard on a subject that can be considered very sensitive to some - that of miscarriage. It's interesting how vividly Sandra Edwards portrays the pain and enduring loss a miscarriage can have on a woman... a couple... and a marriage... and she doesn't shy away from the issues of (secondary) infertility, either. While the love story between Andre and Tasha was heartwarming, I think what really sold me on this book was the ability of the author to pull me into their lives - even the messy parts.
5 Star Review I was given this book for an honest review This is the second book in the Billionaires Games Series and I have to say you don't need to have read book one to enjoy this story. This is Andre and Tasha's love story but things never go to plan as is often the way when you keep secrets. Andre's uncle has just died and left all his estate to Andre and his siblings but in order for them to keep the inheritance he needs to find a wife and stay married for a year...... Tasha met Andre when her best friend married his older brother and they have continued a long distance no strings affair since. Andre never really wanted to get married but once his hand was forced he realized he wanted Tasha as his wife. Tasha finds out she is pregnant and when she tells Andre who has flown over to propose he decides not to tell her about the inheritance stipulations. But secrets have a way of coming out.... Can Andre and Tasha get their HEA will their marriage survive...... I love Sandra Edwards and this series is one of her best
Really liked The Marriage Bargain, so I was looking forward to reading this, but it fell a little flat for me. I loved Tasha from the first book and she continued to be a strong character in this book, but she wasn't given much storyline to work with. The entire plot was evident within the first few chapters and there was no real drama throughout the story.
Also, the book cover needs a revamp, it reminds me of a Harlequin Romance cover from the 70s.
Having said all that, it was still interesting to read about their life and love and catch up with all the characters from the first book.
The Marriage Caper by Sandra Edwards is the second book in a series about the de Laurent family. Extremely rich family from France dominates the three books.
Andre de Laurent had been named as the heir of a large amount of money if he gets married and stays married for at least a year. Luckily he is in love with Tasha. Tasha loves Andre also, but is a waitress in a diner in America and feels he is so far above her. Andre finds out that Tasha is pregnant with his child. As always something happens and someone draws the wrong conclusion - like all the de Laurent family - and does not talk about it. BIG mistake.
ah, what a pity.. I don't know what's going on with me right now and I'm sorry.
Yes, I guess, some days ago I would have given four stars but... ya know, I've read too much about certain pregnancies that don't end so well and I'm just fed up. That just makes me so sad and I don't wanna read about it anymore.
But that was not the only reason for my three stars. Cause I didn't like Tasha. I mean, yes, her husband kept a secret from her. Yes, it may be considered as a quite huge one. And still... I don't know why she's doing it and I just don't get it. So sorry.
Also, the rivalries between Andre and Julian??? Seriously?? Guys, give me some rest....

What a great continuation of this series. You did not have to really even read the first book to understand what these characters were going through. It was a great read and I fell in love with all the Characters even more! You went through the emotional roller coaster with the characters as the dealt with the heart ache and problems they faced, but also fell in love when they fell in love. I would recommend this book and this series to anyone looking for a book that you will not be able to put down!
Andre needs a wife and they must stay married for one year or he will lose the inheritance left to him by his great uncle. Andre can only think of one woman, Tasha. So he heads for California from France to propose marriage for the short term. But he discovers that she is pregnant and he wants marriage forever. He does not tell her about the stipulations of the will. But it never helps to hide things because it somehow comes back and with a vengeance.
I have really enjoyed reading these books, the true love stories where they need a shove to realise their feelings for each other and that you can fill in bits with your own imagination. you will love all the characters and you won't want to put them down once you start. I would highly recommend these.
This was my favorite book in this series. The underdog wins. It was good to see andre find his place. And I really liked Tasha. Her spunk made me laughing the first book and it carried over. While there are definitely a few sad parts it was still an overall feel good story.
Second in the series of the de Laurant siblings search for love and happiness. This is a fast moving series of four books with returning characters, but each book can be read alone. There is a little angst on the way to true love, but you just know that it will have that happy ending.
