'The Children That Time Forgot' started out as 'Life Before Birth'. PROOF OF REINCARNATION? By P B H With the successful publication of the reincarnation classic 'THE CHILDREN THAT TIME FORGOT' (Originally published as Life Before Birth ) by Peter & Mary Harrison, the questions are still being asked: Is their a human Spirit? Does it exist after death? Where was Spirit before birth? Since the dawn of time humanity has pondered the question of it's own mortality. What domain do we go to after death? The authenticated accounts in'THE CHILDREN THAT TIME FORGOT' stirred up a lot of questions and debates when it was first published. On ITV's 'This Morning' Mary Harrison asked the viewers if they had been exposed to any strange or paranormal activity. There was an explosion of calls which blocked the ITV phone network. There was the story of Nicola who was a boy in a previous life and was killed by a train in Yorkshire. The book's primary aim was to present the children's stories in a neutral, non-judgemental way and let the reader decide. The original idea came to co-author Mary Harrison when she observed her youngest son trying to pick flowers from a floral pattern on her bed cover. The littler baby's actions seemed so quirky and amusing that Mary was prompted to have a letter published in Woman's Own. Mary asked if other mothers had experiences similar funny moments with their little ones. She was completely unprepared for the replies she got - Mary was overwhelmed with letters from parents reporting accounts of reincarnation. From this 'THE CHILDREN THAT TIME FORGOT' was born. Baby Leon is now an academic writer in Florida, USA and is married with 2 sons. Mary sadly passed away in 2002. Her husband Peter continues to work as a successful author and producer.
I devoured this book in one sitting - it's a topic that fascinates me and I'm currently reading everything I can get my hands on regarding reincarnation and past lives. This book delves into a number of experiences involving children who unexpectedly and unprovoked, start mentioning experiences as other people in other times, in other lives. I found myself with goosebumps on numerous occasions. Big thanks to the researchers, writers and the families involved for this fascinating insight. It's still sticking in my brain, days later!
This has been a very interesting book to read. I myself have always thought that I have past lives. I fact my husband and I believe we have been together in at least one of our past lives. When we met 35 years ago it was like “oh there you are, I’ve been looking for you.” We were married 4 weeks later. That said I have always loved reading about other people’s past life experiences and this book doesn’t disappoint.
Reincarnation is so fascinating. To read stories retold through children was yet another great learning experience. I loved the end of this book and how it was explained in medical and religious points of view as well. Very insightful. I recommend to anyone who holds interest in this topic.
I have read quite a few books on children that recall various past live experiences. In fact as a small child, I can recall a similar experience. This was an interesting discussion of past lives that children experienced that occurred in previous lifetimes. I think it was interesting that the University of Virginia has a department that researches this. It was a quick read. I selected this book to answer some questions that I had on this subject. My only disappointment with this read is I would have liked more detail into the investigation of these children. At times, some of these children's tales were glossed over, almost as an afterthought and the reader was left with no follow up.
This book poses questions and alternative viewpoints regarding unexplainable events which, realistically speaking, offer few concrete answers in our world.
There are supposedly 3 of these boooks in this ‘series’… But there is really only one book, or possibly 3 with slight variations, & The more you read, The less credible they become, as they just seem like The same story, rewritten with slight variations ( ? ) ?
This was a notable reading. The subject was new, some facts were interesting. Most of the stories -were capturing; I can't say the same to all of them. The storytelling, sometimes, was long. So I recommend it? Yes, if you are interested in stories of children have memories of previous lives.
I read this as research. Amazon suggested it to me based on a different book, and I'm an aspiring author who thought I could gain ideas for a story of mine. I've never really thought about reincarnation (religious non-acceptance of reincarnation is touched on in the book, and I have to admit I never thought of John the Baptist and Elijah as being Biblical proof). I do wish these examples listed happened in the day and age of the Internet because I would love to know more about the children mentioned in the book. (I admit that as a child of the Internet age I'm a bit of a cynic.) But some of the stories mentioned are highly believable. And at .99, well worth the read. Definitely gives you something to think about.

This book contains reports of very young children making references to their former lives, such as being soldiers in a war, a nurse, a grandfather, etc. I believe these accounts for the most part, but I don't know what to make of them. Children stop making such statements before they become school age, as a rule. Interesting reading.
Enjoyed the various stories. My step son also remembered a past life and told about it but nobody encouraged him to talk about it more and he eventually forgot all about it.
this is a good light read if your allright with never being able to look at children the same... like ever. I mean come on reincarnation what's not cool about that!
wow this is amazing book..I could hardly but it down. is very wonderful book..with some amazing stories..from children and there parents. highly recommend this book.
Very interesting. I enjoyed the children's stories the most. The second part of the book was less interesting. I have never read about reincarnation, it is a fascinating subject.
