Terri looks for any opportunity to make stuff up. She thinks anything that can’t so easily be explained is worth an extra look and often makes a great story. She loves red wine, scotch, sunrises, Ancient Egypt, the beach—and a host of other stuff that would take too much real estate to talk about. The youngest of five children, Terri lives with her husband and son on Long Island. And, in her next life, if she hasn’t moved on to somewhere else, she wants to be an astronomer. Terri’s fascinated with the night skies almost as much as she’s fascinated with ancient Egypt.

Now that her feet are wet, this author is taking on the ocean with her second novel and its an impressive one.

Same main characters as her first story, 'In This Life', but the author has switched to the male first person and nailed the voice and strength of this straight talking, shooting from the hip, sexy man. Lottie is still very much the crux of the tale and comes across as more in control and sure of herself as she becomes comfortable with her past lives and attempts to ease David through his acceptance that what he is experiencing is to be embraced rather than mistrusted.

While David's sex appeal is searing, Galen's positively smoulders. Although he threatens the main characters' close and historic bond, he is integral to their growth as a couple and he heats up every scene he's in. This reader is rather partial to his simmering presence.

'Covet' introduces a new character, Rita, David's mother. She's a keeper. A lively 'flower child' from the hippie era who'll never grow old nor conform with an open and healthy attitude to sex that puts a perpetual grin on her husband's face and makes her son squirm whenever she's around.

The plot is as primal as David's past life and the title perfectly describes the power play between several of these characters, new and revisited. There aren't many winners at the end but the struggle makes for a page-turning read.

'Covet' has it all. Great characters, intrigue, revelations, danger and the hint of more and even better to come. This entertaining ride courtesy of Ms Herman-Ponce is far from over.

REVIEW: COVET is the second storyline in Terri Herman-Ponce’s continuing saga of past life regression and the complications it reveals.

In This Life (Book #1) centered on Lottie Morgan as she journeyed between present day and flashing back to ancient Egypt where her life begins to unravel. But the past continues to haunt Lottie only this time, her lover David is along for the ride.

Covet is told from two POVs. David Bellotti is the main POV with third person narration to keep the reader abreast of what is happening. David’s life begins to fall apart when his past life regressions reveal more than he ever thought possible. And like reincarnation, there are people from his past willing to make amends, seek revenge or continue where their past lives left off. Only this time, the number of players is much larger and involves present day criminals and suspects. And his recent past, as in twelve years earlier, will come knocking on his front door to add further complications to an already uneasy peace in his relationship with Lottie.

Terri writes an amazing and fascinating storyline of suspense, mystery, betrayal, hatred and love-a love that transcends the ages and a hatred that follows with every incarnation and life. And like the first storyline in the series (In This Life), Covet is fast paced, well written and will keep you on the edge of your proverbial seat. Many new players with many more potential storylines and a hint of a possible betrayal from someone too close to the action had me wondering where it was all going to lead. Terri’s imagination crosses the distance of time as do her characters and stories.

Covet is an absolute treat. Meaty writing you can sink your teeth into, rich in detail and lush voluptuous descriptions. These are characters with a pulse. If that weren't enough, the emotions are spot on, the internal and external conflicts intensely compelling, and the nuanced transitions into past lives and imagery was delicately done.

David is a seriously hot hero and Lottie a fascinating heroine. I actually gasped aloud at being left at the cliffhanger. Since I haven't read the first book of this series yet, In This Life, I'll be picking that up next while I wait impatiently for the continuing story in the third. I hope it gets here soon.

I received this ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

David's peaceful existence is shattered when a seemingly random encounter sparks memories from a past life that spans 12,000 years. As he grapples with this newfound knowledge, he becomes entangled in a perilous game orchestrated by individuals determined to uncover the truth he has protected for millennia. This puts not only his own life at risk but also jeopardizes the safety of the woman he loves and the life he has painstakingly built. Moreover, David must confront the shocking revelation of a daughter he never knew existed. With everything on the line, he must navigate treacherous waters to protect his secrets and the ones he holds dear.

While I was unaware that this was the second book in the series I enjoyed the general plot and feel of the characters. Terri Herman-Ponce has a wonderful way of expressing her character’s viewpoints and individual personalities and I absolutely loved how the author mixed in the character’s past lives. The twists and turns in the plot were excellent and unexpected. I am excited to go back and read the first book to get a little bit more perspective on this one.

OMG! I really enjoyed this story. I was a little lost in the beginning simply cause I don’t understand past life regression. As you delve into the life of these characters you realise the intricasies and that fate has a hand in everything.
Lottie and David have been happy for a long time but a few months ago something happened that put a kink in their smooth sailing. They began to experience past life regression and realize that they have spent lifetimes together. Lottie is confused because the emotions and visions she has tells her that David is her soul mate. However, she cannot deny the pull that she feels for Galen.
When David’s ex-lover shows up and connections are made to a drug lord, the seriousness of what they have been experiencing ramps up. If you want to read something that is paranormal without the usual suspects, check this story out. I can’t wait from more from this awesome author!

This book actually follows In This Life, which I loved. I would classify it as romantic suspense with a paranormal twist. There are secrets, past lives, romance, and suspense. This book is more David's story and we get his point of view. David is finally having some past-life experiences, though he doesn't want to. I love how the past lives intertwine with their present lives. So many turns in the story that I did not expect. Kept me reading until I finished. There is definitely going to be another book and I can't wait!

After reading the first book by Terri Herman-Ponce, In This Life, I didn't think it was possible for the second book to be better. Fortunately I couldn't have been more wrong! I loved reading from another character's perspective who was in the first book, and all the twists in the plot had me reading all of Sunday afternoon until it was almost midnight, forcing me to finish it the following day. If you enjoy reading a book with unexpected twists, great characters, and some mystery and romance all mixed together, Covet needs to be on your list of books to read!

truly enjoyed this second book immensely. Having David's point a review was very revealing and piqued my interest till the end. This second book was amazing the story was rich with detail and action. I actually couldn't wait to find out what happened and had to force myself not to skip to the end and read the last page! I know it's wrong but seriously I was getting tense worrying about how it was going to all come together. I enjoyed every second of reading this and truly can't wait for the third book to come out. Do yourself a favor and check this series out. You won't regret it.

Covet is a creative story of past lives, past loves, and past danger that will keep you reading until the very end.

It has more twists than a braided rug. Ha. I struggled with the right image and this seemed appropriate.

Terri paints a great canvas of intertwined relationships that transcend time and even death to protect love and family.

I'm not telling what it's about here, you'll have to read it for yourself.

Covet by Terri Herman-Ponce is a 2014 Samsara Street Publishing release. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First of all, I didn't read the first book in the series, but I don't think it's necessary in order to enjoy this one, but I think you would probably understand the characters more if you had all the background information. I hope to someday find the time to get that first book read because I think this series is going to be really good.

Lottie believes she has experienced a past life regression and her long time boyfriend, David thinks it's all hooey. Lottie's experiences have put her in a compromising position with one of Davids' fellow professional soldiers. Now, David is on a mission and discovers a photo of Lottie kissing another man. Has she been unfaithful? Can he trust her?
The couple are having some problems because David is involved in the regression, he just won't admit it. Lottie is having to deal with these memories all by herself and it's putting a strain on the relationship, especially since they can't confide in one another about their occupations. Lottie is a psychologist and David is a professional soldier. So, his missions are top secret and of course Lottie has doctor – patient confidentiality to deal with. An underlying matter of trust between them erupts when Lottie meets Monica.
Monica and David had a relationship in the past and it appears Monica would like to pick up where they left off..
In the meantime David's mission appears to involve drugs and is linked to the man in the picture with Lottie.

This novel was outlined perfectly. The tension between Lottie and David was palpable as jealously reared it's ugly head and their previously solid relationship begins to suffer. But, David learns that Lottie could be in serious danger and he may not be able to save her. As the investigation heats up more and more shocking revelations come to light and Lottie becomes convinced David is having his own regression and needs help. The race is on to save Lottie and once and for all resolve the past life issues that are complicating their lives right now. So, while this is a steamy paranormal romance, it's also filled with action and suspense. The suspense is muliti- layered because of the danger elements but also because of the emotional turmoil. All I can say is David and Lottie deserve that vacation they keep trying to plan. I hope they will get it eventually...

Intriguing -- a must-read for paranormal, romance and suspense readers!

I was a little skeptical at first about how this story might read because it's from a man's point of view. But Terri handles David's mind just as skillfully as she handles the storytelling. People may dismiss paranormal reads because they think they're all about vampires or witches, but Covet stands out from the crowd not just because it's not a typical paranormal but because the storyline is fresh and engaging. You can tell that Terri cares about how she uses her words, that she thinks through the plotting, and that she's all about grabbing her readers from page one. As for the romance, it's not overdone or overly sweet. If anything, the emotions in this book feel real. Can't wait for the next one, and judging from the jaw-dropping ending there's more to David's and Lottie's story to come. Kudos to Terri on a great read. If you don't pick this one up, you're missing out.

I don't know if any review can do Covet justice.

The book is categorized as a paranormal but it's really a suspense with romance and paranormal added in. It's written in such a realistic way and what sets Covet apart is that it plays on emotions we all feel when faced with the question: if we had another chance, would we make the same decisions we've made before? Would we choose the same partner or lifemate? And do we really have a choice after all?

David, the main character, discovers that he's lived other lives in the past. But rather than focus on the paranormal or fantasy idea of reincarnation, the author tells David's story through how that past comes to haunt him. After finding a photo of Lottie, the woman he loves, kissing another man, he discovers that his life isn't everything he thought it was. People are keeping secrets and if he doesn't figure them out soon, they could cost Lottie her life and change David's forever.

As David tries to find his way, he makes discoveries that are eye-opening and life-altering and that lead to a gripping and wild ride for the reader. Covet is full of love and family, and espionage and mystery, and roads taken and not taken.

This is one book that grabs you and doesn't let go.

I finished Terri Herman-Ponce’s book Covet. I started it and realized I was missing some vital information. Then I realized I should read In This Life first, so I did. After reading that book, I realized what was happening in Covet. Everything became as clear as it was to Lottie.
There is unexpected action from the start with David stealing of the wallet of a drug lord and finding a picture of Lottie kissing another man in it. No one wants to see their lover kissing someone else, much less in the possession of a drug lord!. While David and Nat try to figure out where they stand with the drug lord’s family, memories from the ancient past begin to appear to David. Lottie tries to help him deal with his emotions of that while trying to avoid getting in deeper with Galen. Can Lottie, David, Nat and Galen get things figured out?
I loved this book. It was a perfect sequel to In This Life. From Ancient Egypt we travel even further back in time to discover the present. I especially loved the grocery shopping spree that Nat and David had. I laughed until tears came to my eyes. It was perfect! It too is an easy read and would be great for holidays and vacations.

I was anticipating David's story in this one. The added layers of an even older David and Lottie brought more to their storyline. And the new thorn--character Monica--gave it just the right flavor.

Herman-Ponce did a wonderful job of pulling the reader deep inside David and Lottie's characters that at times you just wanted to smack David for being such a guy, and scream at Lottie to step it up and smack that "other" woman. I enjoy authors who can pull this off without driving me away as a reader. For me, that's what I love to read, suspending belief for the story, but seeing a realistic side to it; as if the characters were true flesh and blood human beings.

The way Covet ended leaves it wide-open for more from Lottie and David. Their story is not complete and I hope to see a new novel soon.

This book was amazing! It is a book unlike any other. Before I started reading it I assumed that I would fall in love because of Terri's first book, In This Life. I was proved right from the start. I hated when I had to put it down because it brought me in and kept me wanting more. The mix of romance and suspense was perfect. It's a must read! I would recommend this book to anyone, whether or not you read the first because it makes sense either way (although I would suggest reading the first because it was so great). I hope to see another book by Terri. I can't get enough!

This book while it follows on from her previous book In This Life. Covet can be read as a stand alone book also, but if you are like me and hate starting anything when you know it follows on from something previous you will want to read In this Life first.

Just for the record though if you don't mind, then your enjoyment of this great book will not be hampered by not reading the first one as this can be read independently of the other. My personal opinion is that it makes a richer read having read In this Life first.

Due to work commitments this book took me slightly longer to read than I would have liked and this really frustrated me as this is a good story and if I had been allowed I do think that I would have read this in close to one sitting.

I will try to keep this as spoiler free as possible but there may be a few for In this Life and I apologise in advance.

Covet begins not long after the events in In this Life. We return to Lottie and David.  David has a mission, one that at the outset seems more transparent and straight forward at the outset that it truly is. During the op David finds a photo of Lottie kissing another man and he realises that things are not what they seem.

Lottie is still reeling from the events surrounding her regression and the memories that it brought back to her from a long forgotten past. she is sure that David is part of this and refuses to believe that he cannot regress and see what she see's as they seemed to have shared a previous life together.

What she doesn't know is that David is fighting against his memories as he sees danger for Lottie and realises that people she thought he could trust are not all they appear.

In book 1 the story was told primarily from the point of view of Lottie. This time we get an insight into David and a lot more from his point of view.

I can't Reval much more without ruining the plot for you, but rest assured that there is more mystery, intrigue, regressions and fabulous storytelling in this installment of Ms. Ponce's fabulous writing. I think Terri has done a great job with Covet, you are sucked into the story from page one and it stays with you after the last page.

If you like suspense romance and a little mystery then this is the book for you.

Overall is 4 stars.

Covet brings you back into the lives of Lottie and David and their relationship journey through the ages. This time the majority of the book is told through David's eyes. Most romance novels are written from the heroine's perspective, so this was a great spin. We get to see David's emotions exposed, raw and vividly real. His anger, his hurt and his deep love for a woman that he learns he has loved since nearly the beginning of our time on Earth.

I love how we meet new characters and then learn that they are all connected in a complicated web of jealousy, love and hate. I remember David's sex therapist mother from In This Life, and I love that she gets a much bigger role in this book. We also meet the daughter he never knew existed. Ada's character leads us straight into book #3, and I am glad I've already got that on my Kindle, because I just want to keep going.

This book is quite a page-turner and will keep you finding excuses to put your real life on hold until you've turned the last page. I read it on vacation and kept having to remind myself to put it down and join the family. Another great book by Terri Herman-Ponce.

I liked this book. I love all the stuff about the reincarnation and previous lives lived. I find that fascinating and Terri Herman-Poncé does an excellent job with creating those lives and going in between them throughout the story. Having said that here is why this book doesn’t get a better rating from me and it’s probably just me who is like this because a lot of people out there love a book to continue a series from their favorite characters. I on the other hand don’t. Let me explain in the first book In This Life I got my HEA so when I started Covet I didn’t want anyone screwing with them. It just rubs me the wrong way. I don’t mind if series continues on with a couple I loved I just don’t want their story to continue on if I already got a HEA. On a side note I have gone back and skimmed In This Life and I think I didn’t want to see that there might be more to Lottie and David's story than what I initially thought.

Holy Cow! Terri Herman-Ponce has done it again. I loved In This Life so much, I ran to my Kindle after writing the review and bough Covet. Not disappointed! The story is equally fast-paced, bewildering, alarming, and thrilling. I’m guessing book three in the Past Life series is on the way, and I can hardly wait.
This time, hunky paramilitary yummy guy, David is the one getting “memories” he can’t understand and doesn’t want to deal with. The love of his life, psychiatrist Lottie Morgan is having a hard time coping with David’s refusal to admit what is going on. And then in walks a whole slew of nasty people ready and wanting to gum up the works.
POV changes from chapter to chapter, and I love being inside David’s head in this book. Terri knows how to write a very convincing Alpha male, and she does one heck of a job on High Bitch women, as well. Love MD!
I highly recommend this book, this series, and probably anything Terri Herman-Ponce writes. Very well done.

Note - I am posting the same review for IN THIS LIFE and COVET. Although they can be read as stand-alone novels, I believe readers will enjoy them together. Thank you.

I read IN THIS LIFE and its sequel, titled COVET, in one fell swoop, and I was captivated by Terri Herman-Poncé's ability to create page-turning mysteries. And yes, that's how I would characterize these novels. Ms. Ponce is an excellent writer, her plotting positively Hitchcockian in its ability to keep me guessing. If you are interested in reincarnation and wish to read a different kind of paranormal series, I highly recommend IN THIS LIFE and COVET. I can't wait for the third novel in this series, because I need to know what happens to Ada. Hurry, Ms. Ponce, hurry! Spin your tale and weave your magic!

I enjoyed this book. However, I believe I would have gotten much more depth if I had read the first book. This can be a stand alone-but if you want to have the history and delve into the characters and story more, than I recommend the first book.

That aside, I loved the theme of the story of past lives and reincarnation. David and Lottie must overcome suspense, mystery, and paranormal. Terri Herman-Ponce takes you on a journey were the unbelievable seems plausible.

Covet left me breathless and waiting the next one.
