Pinch Pottery: Functional, Modern Handbuilding

Rate this book
The technique is simple; the results are gorgeous! Susan Halls has created an array of refined, sophisticated and incredibly modern-looking projects that are perfect for beginners, yet enticing for more seasoned ceramicists. The pieces range from a mug, vase, and jug to a bowl, teapot, and triple herb planter, and they start with a basic pinch pot before moving on to wider, taller, and more composite forms, all with stunning options for color and surface decoration. And, since many of the items can be made with easily found air-drying clay, no kilns required!

If you want to try out the pinch method in pottery, this is a great book to start. It's a bit rustic for my taste, but I appreciate all of the instructions, photos, and variety.

Fabulous descriptions and photos for hand building several pieces, mostly containers and not flat plates etc. Many decorating ideas too.

Excellent and informative book that is full of fun and inspiration. Written for the beginner but still full of information for the teaching professional. I will be adding this one to my library at some point!

I am going to spend some time exploring and practicing these techniques. An exciting area to work in, and very tactile.

This is a great basic book with some unusual items to make also. This book even shows you how to hand pinch functional lids. I can hardly wait to get my hands dirty and try some of the projects.
