Texas Trouble #9

Worth The Trouble

Rate this book
Horse trainer and female ranch hand Roxanne Baker's daddy had warned her about smooth-talking city boys at sixteen. She had always taken his advice as gospel until she met Ethan Cassidy.

Until then it had been easy, because she intimidated most men in her profession, most men in general. When she didn't intimidate them, Rocky became a stumbling idiot around them, not able to string two words together.

When Ethan, her only female friend's brother, visited the R & R Ranch for the bull riding adventure a year prior, and proceeded to save his sister from a flooded creek, Rocky developed a serious case of hero worship. At Terri's wedding, that turns into much more.

The next time she sees Ethan though, he is a changed man, definitely not the charming alpha firefighter who had made love to her in the hayloft all night long. He wants nothing to do with her, and Rocky is determined to find out what happened to him and help him find that man again.

Spec Ops Paramedic and Firefighter, Ethan Cassidy has the world by the balls. In his job and his involvement with the Texas Task Force 1, Ethan takes risks every day that would turn most people's stomach, both to save lives and to feed his adrenaline addiction. He knows that every day could be his last, so he milks every ounce of zest out of life that he can find.

Roxanne Baker's long legs and cherry-flavored lips are just the kind of zest he likes best. The capable and country-beautiful female ranch hand intrigues him when he visits his sister's ranch to learn to ride rodeo bulls. She won't give him the time of day however, so he waits until Terri's wedding and tries again with her.

After the wedding and a wonderous night in the hayloft with Roxanne, Ethan goes back to Henrietta and his life is changed forever by an accident on the job. Ethan is depressed and refuses therapy to rehabilitate, because what's the use? He will never be a firefighter or paramedic again. He is thirty years old and his life is over.

His sister won't let him wallow though, she comes and drags him back to the ranch, and between her and Roxanne, Ethan has no choice but to work hard to recover. When Rocky joins an equine search and rescue team, and invites him to join too, he finds his motivation and new purpose.

A fire investigation of the accident scene shows that his accident may have been no accident at all and Ethan is shocked to find out a member of his fire crew might have been behind trying to kill him.

A child goes missing in Palo Duro Canyon State Park and the equine search and rescue team is called upon to help the Texas Task Force find her. Ethan and Roxanne work together as a team there, but other forces are at work too to make sure they don't leave that wilderness alive.

Working together in that park, both Ethan and Roxanne find exactly what they've been searching for--love. Holding on to that love though will take using every skill they possess, but in the end they know it will all be worth the trouble.

The ninth book in the Texas Trouble series by Becky McGraw. This is the first book I've read by this author and I'm sure it won't be the last. I wasn't paying attention to the fact it was a series book but it was a book that can easily be read as a stand-alone. Ethan and Rocky met before but hook up the night of Rocky's best friend's wedding. Ethan leaves and doesn't stay in contact with Rocky which hurts her feelings but what would a handsome city man want with a tom-boy gal like her? Then Ethan had a tragic accident on the job that makes him wonder if he will ever walk again. He returns to the ranch to recuperate.

Not bad. A bit heart-wrenching at times and no real surprises for me but it was written in a way that I enjoyed. It didn't lag too much and had a bit of suspense thrown in. I'd recommend it!

A difficult book to write well and Ms. McGraw nails it. Our strong alpha hero Ethan Cassidy has a debilitating back injury that changes him both physically and emotionally. This book follows Ethan’s journey back to health and to love.
Rocky is the perfect lady to stand by his side in this journey. She rides and shoots with perfection. There is very little a cowboy can do that Rocky can’t. But she has a vulnerable side too. With a drop dead gorgeous sister who is the definition of female, how or why would Rocky compete?
The highs of the book are hot, sexy and fun. The lows drag the tears or compassion from you by the handful. I laughed with Rocky, yelled at Ethan and flipped pages quickly through the fast paced action packed book.
The book is almost perfect. The book had to end before Ethan made his complete recovery emotionally. I feel this boy, once he starts being a bit more honest with Rocky, will be a perfect man to handle her feistiness. I look forward to the next books in the series where I hope we will see Ethan again.

So I know last time I said the last book was my favorite but Worth the Trouble was defiantly my favorite now. There were times when I wanted to punch Ethan for Rox but yet I understood his point so I cut him so slack. I wanted Rox to see what everyone else saw in her including myself and not let what society has said was perfect get to her. She was perfect in every way that counted. I loved how she took control in the end and stopped..... from happening. I was so entertained and lost in their world of ups and downs, I finished it in three hours...

What a piece of work×2!

5 stars for 2 of the most stubborn characters Becky has written to date. I always wondered if she would find someone for either of them. Giving Roxanne and Ethan each other was epic. His injury and rehab were really excellent storylines and Roxanne was awesome. Absolutely wonderful romance full of ups and downs and I loved every page. Bravo Becky Write on! Davia.

It has a bit of everything!

There is everything here; action, drama, mystery, and most importantly HEAT. The characters are strong and you can relate to them. If you haven't checked out this series then you should, you won't be disappointed.

Becky's books are always a great read. Especially since the characters are the most normal people you could hope to fine. I highly recommend this book as well as all her other books.

Holy smokes!

Ethan sure gets himself into trouble! The sexy firefighter has just about given up on life, but hard headed Roxanne just might have the cure.

I won a paperback copy of this book, in a facebook party, and because of the cover I had to start reading it. I had never read a book by Becky McGraw, but now I have to get all of them, because I thought this one was awesome. This story is about Roxanne and Ethan, and what can I say, I loved them both. Roxanne, is tough and sassy, outspoken and beautiful, although she does not believe that. Ethan, is a firefighter, Spec. Ops Paramedic and all around hero. He has a dangerous job, and adds to that with his dangerous hobbies. They meet for the first time at Roxanne's best friend Terri's wedding. Terri also happens to be Ethan's sister. When Ethan gets injured in a terrible fire, he becomes really depressed, and has to be shown tough love to get him to move forward. And move forward he does, sometimes with hilarious endings, loved his first golf cart ride. Not gonna say more about that, you will have to read the book to find out. Ethan and Roxanne, both join an equine rescue team and are called on to help find a missing child in the State Park. And since Ethan has recently found out that his accident may have not been an accident after all, it turns out to be a real adventure. Can Ethan and Roxanne survive and give in to their feelings for one another? If there were more than five stars, I would have rewarded them to Becky McGraw, because I absolutely loved this book, and am looking forward to reading the rest of this series. If you love romance, some humor, and suspense then you need to read this book.

Book 9 is Rocky (Roxanne) and Ethan's story. Ethan is Terri's brother and he is the firefighter in the family. Rocky is a tomboy girl and she is a ranch hand on the dude ranch that Chase and Joel have. They meet during Terri's wedding and kind of have a one night stand. A year later Ethan is hurt in a fire and he is in a wheel chair. For two months he stays in his room at his parents house and feels sorry for his self. Terri wants to help so she takes him to the ranch and starts his therapy for him to get back strength to walk. While there he is once again reunited with Rocky although it is a rocky road. This is a great love story and a good read

Another great read from Becky. Ethan and Rocky wow!!!! What a pair, Ethan is as bullheaded as Rocky is stubborn and two don’t mix lol it’s takes quite a few tries for these two to get things going on with each other and In-between exciting things happen like fire and explosions and back injuries, riverside rescues, car trouble, missing children and kidnapping wow!!!! Can’t wait to read the rest of this series

enjoyed the book

I'm enjoying the series. So far these two crack me up. I wish would could see more of their relationship after their together. I feel the writer cuts us off. We don't know how they end up and Terri hasn't had her baby. I hope we see more of them in the next book.
