Several years ago, I started work with an ACT therapist to tackle some problematic behaviours. It wasn't until I found this book that I realised the principles of ACT can be taken and applied to psychosis. I tested this out: I allowed myself to become hypomanic, and then used the principles in this book to become well again. ACT works for psychosis. This is a technical but practical read for people who experience psychosis, and it's a must-read for health care workers who work with people at risk of psychosis.
