Winter Massey is a former U.S. marshal who has made too many enemies on both sides of the law. Lucy Dockery is a judge’s daughter who’s never had to fight for anything in her life. But now Lucy and her young son have been kidnapped and sentenced to die–unless her father agrees to set a vicious criminal free.
Winter Massey is the closest thing to salvation they have, but he doesn’t know that the beautiful FBI agent who brought him into the case may be playing a chilling double game–and that a circle of treachery has begun to tighten around him. For Lucy, the time has come to scratch and claw for survival. For Massey, it’s time to stop trusting the people he trusts most. Because in a storm of betrayal, there’s only one way out.
Seriously, if you arent reading this book/web comic, read it. Especially if you like Harry Potter type stories. Omg it's going to be a long wait for vol 5- previously read vol 4 as an arc from netgalley which is how I got introduced to this series.
At the end of each chapter is a cute little anecdote (cant think of a better word for it). At the end of the chapter about a Pigeon and Kat, theres a page on how homing pigeons were real. The physical book itself is incredibly beautiful. The pages are shiny and pretty. I will keep buying these in hardcover even if they were available for kindle since they are so pretty.
Also? Have a crush on the character Kat. (This should amuse and confuse my real world friends)
Love love love the art. Love the camping story. And finally I find out why Kat was so mad at Annie.
Quotes: nobody creeps out my main babe if I have anything to say about it." Kat"
This is the third book in the Winter Massey Series. I hadn't read the previous two books, but I don't think it mattered, as this felt like a standalone.
Winter is called in to help and old FBI friend. She is trying to rescue the kidnapped daughter and grandson of a judge who has been ordered to release an evil army colonel or his daughter and grandson will be killed.
There are lots of people involved in this scheme from low level criminals to government workers. Who can Winter trust? I let you read and find out.
A pretty good read. I think I continue with this series to see what happens wither Winter next.
Suspense/Mystery. Mother & child kidnapped. Story of their rescue & what was behind it. I may be able to rate this a "4", but I gave it a lower rating, because I didn't look forward to reading it. It held my interest, enough to keep reading, but wasn't a book that I wanted to sit for a couple of hours & read. The final 50 pages, were exciting and that's when I didn't want to put the book down.
this turned out to be better than i thought it would. winter massey is asked to join an elite force to find a kidnapped woman and her son. there are lots of twists and turns, and interesting characters, both good and bad. there is a russian and some not so good ole boys.
I am enjoying these Winter Massey books. There are enough plot twists to keep me happy. This one had bad guys and gals I could have lived without but so goes our imaginations and unlimited brutality.
I've read this one twice now & loved it both times. Winter Massey is a kick butt kinda guy who's charged with protecting a woman and her child. An intense story with tons of action and mystery.
