History changes with each turn of the page! What seems like an innocent school project to trace family history, reveals a dark secret.
Maggie Peterson uncovers that her great-grandmother, Ellen, was part of the inner-circle of Nazi Germany. What’s more, she has left behind clues of a diabolical plot that connects to historical events ranging from Pearl Harbor to 9/11 … all building to the upcoming presidential election.
The claims are met with heavy skepticism, and attributed to the failing mind of an elderly woman. But each passing clue washes away doubt, leaving Veronica Peterson trapped in a mother’s nightmare – her instincts are to protect her daughter’s safety at any cost, but knows that Maggie might be the only chance to prevent a sequel of the worst horror story the world has ever seen … and must let her run toward the danger.
Apologies to all the authors I love, and I usually read sci fi, so this is not my usual read. This book is great!!! The story is complex, gripping, and so RIGHT NOW! Seriously believable in today's political world.
It starts off so innocently, a 12 year old girl working with her great grandmother on a school project. The project is to document her heritage from one line of the family. Unfortunately great grandmother was raised by Hitler, and that is just the beginning of a long uphill climb to the shocking ending.
You might want to keep a notebook and pen handy to help keep up with the characters aliases, code names, and the intersecting family trees. Trust no one!
I really enjoyed this book. The book kept my attention and I liked how the end of each chapter left you wanting more. Everyone knows the historical figures the story revolves around and I thought that the use of some true facts, plenty of conspiracy theories and some made up fiction made for a very interesting story. Well worth a read.
A conspiracy novel with present day Nazis is not really my thing, but this one is very well written. I can't say I clicked with either the story or the characters, but I did appreciate how well-crafted this tale is. If you like conspiracy stories or Nazi antagonists, you'll love this, I'm sure.
It was an interesting story overall...plenty of twists. The basic plot was a Nazi conspiracy tale. Some of it was a bit confusing in the beginning and overall was a far fetched scenario. I've enjoyed several book by Mr Ciccone. I'm sure I could read more if able.
Great bit of fiction with an interesting link to history. Ciccone captured my interest early and held it the way through with a number of clever twists and turns!
