This too Shall Pass is the sequel of And in Time. Alexis and Cory went through a lot to find their happy. This second book was hard to read at times. It wasn’t an easy road for this couple. In fact, it was messy with tons of drama, insecurities, angst, and loads and loads of miscommunication. In my opinion, this couple went through too much. Or at least it was too much for me.

Although I liked both of the main characters a lot, especially in the first book, there were many moments I didn’t love them in this one. And the third person writing makes it hard to connect/follow for me. Especially when so much is going on. Still, I very much enjoy Jettie’s writing. The writing and the story aren’t bad- I just think this was something I wasn’t in the mood for right now.

If you enjoy overly angsty and emotional reads and you loved Cory and Alexis from book one, this might be right up your allie! For me, it wasn’t great or bad. It was just an okay read.

All I can tell you is this too shall pass. Whether you believe it or not, time heals all pain. You might never forget it, but it will pass.

I can't really go into too much detail because this is a book you just have to live through. I pretty much shy away from books that challenge my happily ever after, and this book nearly gutted me with its challenge. While this story provoked a lot of emotion out of me, I found myself arguing with them on how they should just suck it up and talk it out. I was frustrated and grasping at any quick reconciliation so that I can get my HEA back, and even though I know in the back of my head that their past experience hindered them from moving forward, I still wanted to make it all right.

When I think about it now with a somewhat clear head, the one they should blame didn't get nearly enough of a punishment. Can you tell I haven't truly recovered from it all!?! But regardless of it all, it was a an amazing read! This is not a book you read over time or when you have a few minutes to spare, it demands your full attention as it takes you for a ride on the emotional roller coaster; one that I don't think I will ever forget.

*****5 Angst-ridden Stars*****

(ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review)

The first book in this series And In Time; I thought was so beautiful and even though I know some people complained that it didn't have enough angst, I loved how romantic and sweet the introduction to the love story of Cory and Alexis was. This Too Shall Pass was equally stunning but the angst level in this part of the tale is through the roof, and not just for the sake of making drama, Jettie Woodruff created a perfectly raw and heartbreaking story that will simply leave you breathless.

 photo 8cc65c33-77ff-441b-a654-307c808a71b2_zpsmke3fisw.jpg

Cory and Alexis are trying to juggle life, love and parenthood; not an easy task. Their love is still so new and if you add the tensions of a household and two young kids, it could be very hard on a relationship. To that, add the fact that Alexis ex-fiancé is moving back into town and he has solid plans to get her back. Cory knows she had a significant relationship with her ex and the fact that Alexis still doesn't want to make things official because she's too scared of marriage is making him jealous and insecure about the future of their love.

Alexis had a painful past with her ex Mitch, she hates that he's now back in town and is causing troubles between her and Cory. She doesn't know what else to do, to reassure Cory that he is the true and only love of her life but instead of making things better she will make a terrible mistake; one that she might not be able to take back.

This is a simple yet very meaningful story about true love and family. Those who we love the most are the ones that can also hurt us the deepest. Alexis and Cory will go through very difficult times and the only thing holding a thread of hope for them will be the love of their daughters. My heart was in knots for pretty much the entire time I was reading this book and even days after I had finish reading, I couldn't stop thinking about this story. If you like angst and well crafted romance this series is for you, one not to miss.

This Too Shall Pass is the conclusion to Alexis and Cody’s story. I fell in love with this couple, their family and small town vibe in And in Time. I was leery to read this story, I am not usually a fan of taking a couple out of their HEA for a sequel or additional story. This is definitely a time where I am completely conflicted.

The story begins about a year later and Cory and Alexis are still living together, and have their two children: Riki and Kinley. The story begins with some bickering and this was probably my first clue I shouldn’t be reading this one. However, by 20% a bomb is dropped and I had no choice but to continue reading and watch things unfold.

As I was saying, I am completely conflicted. On one hand this story was engaged, addicted and evoked a ton of emotion. On the other, it evoked so much emotion I wanted to throw my Kindle and at times I wish I hadn’t even read it. I feel I am a very easy reader, give me my HEA and I am usually pretty happy. However, there are some situations that are just too much and make me want to scream.

"Love hurts, life hurts, and if you go through it avoiding the things that make you happy in fear, you're not really going to live."

I honestly can’t say if I recommend this one. Like I said, I wish I had left my HEA were it was, but this is just one reader’s opinion. So in rating this, I don't think it's fair to rate this book below 3 stars. First, the writing is very good and the story is engaging. However, I also can't in good faith recommend this story without a serious warning.

Better than the first but still not polished the way a re-release should be. Review to come...

**FULL REVIEW**

“Keep your chin up. God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. You’re being tested. It’s up to you how you handle it, Sputter Bug.”

Alexis seemed to have it all, adoring fiancé, beautiful little girls, a career she loved, and a family that was always there for her. Their life was surrounded by parties, family gatherings to celebrate all of life’s events…too bad past relationships ruin the possibility for future ones to truly take hold.

One night, things get out of hand and turns Alexis’s world upside down…

“The once undeniable love between the two of them was quickly replaced with anger and hate. She didn’t want him there.”

Months pass and the rollercoaster Alexis and Cory are one is a very drawn out one…family gatherings are strained, work is almost impossible for Alexis and of course there’s the growing problem in her belly. All the negativity takes its toll on everyone involved and with her attitude, I don’t see things getting any better.

When tragedy strikes the McKinley family, despite her rebuttals, Alexis needs Cory, whether she wants to admit it or not. It’s then that she finally starts to come to grips with her new reality, and it seems to be a lonely one.

“Dad loved you more than anything on earth.” “That he did. And so does Cory. Sometimes they just don’t get it though. They handle things different than women. I’ve forgiven your dad so many times I lost count. You know why? Because they don’t count. They don’t matter. It’s passed. Let it pass, Alexis. Love hard and be loved.”

Alright, while this story did pull my heartstrings because, well, it was kind of sad; I have some issues.

First, this is a re-release. I really expected it to be better polished with regards to spelling, grammar, and even use of words. Things like this may be small but they pull me from a story. I find that when a book is published it should be as close to perfect as humanly possible. Now, don’t think me harsh for saying so, but this could use another round of editing…or three.

Second, there are some inconsistencies with the storyline that I found myself correcting out loud as I read, and some other parts re-reading and having to go back to double check because the timeline didn’t match up.

I can always move forward and continue reading if the storyline itself holds my interest but I can’t give a high rating no matter how engaging because at the end of the day, I read a lot. I read books in one sitting…this story took less time than the first, but still longer than I’d like and to me, that means it wasn’t enough to keep me glued to the pages.

This book though, I will say, did stay on my mind when I was not reading due to the emotional heaviness…the author did a better job of creating a conflict, and drawing it out…it was more drawn out than necessary and there were details to menial things that I felt weren’t necessary while areas I wanted more, there wasn’t nearly enough. Overall, I felt she did better at pulling the reader in. I just wish it could’ve held up better for the long haul with her use (and misuse) of words and lack of timeline and storyline consistency.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Fans of Jettie Woodruff should love this book. Stick logic in your back pocket and you'll enjoy this story. It's full of angst, laughter and sadness. What I did not like about this story is that here we have two supposedly mature adults, and one is a very educated doctor, but the doctor jumps to a conclusion that just doesn't fit the intelligence he should have had nor does he act with maturity. The lack of communication between our H & h was beyond reason. I realize that it was a plot device but our heroine was just too stubborn to live. Also I don't care for “clean” words describing sex scenes but this book might be considered YA. I still have not seen that in the book's description though.
I must admit that I enjoyed this second book much more than the first book, “And In Time”. I do enjoy reading a book that makes me cry sometimes. However, I still do not care for Ms. Woodruff's writing style. Oftentimes I was confused as to which character was speaking. I would have to reread once or twice what I had just read to figure out who was saying what. Scenes would change with little or no segue. One character, Alexis' mom, was suddenly in a scene, how did she get there? Did she sneak up or had the characters shifted to a different scene? It's like the author thought we could see what was happening like on television rather than explain to us what we should be seeing in our mind's eye.
Also, at one point I lost track of what month the story was supposedly in. It sounded like Alexis was planning the March calendar when her due date was in February and the month was January? But then it said something about the second week in May. This totally confused me and once again I had to reread that scene. I'm hoping this got caught in final editing.

Alexis really didn't need anything else in her life, she has a great family, friends and her own successful business and her best friend and loyal male in her life Mr. Dog. Then along comes Cory Baker who literally sweeps her off her feet with his perusal and complete adoring love, does love at first sight really exist. They have the perfect life together and are so completely in love with each other, so happy and content. It seems life is almost too perfect.

Then as a old flame returns to town, is the perfect little bubble they live in about to come tumbling down around them both. As Alexis and Cory's perfect little world begins to fall apart I fell apart right along with them. Life seems to go from bad to worse all at once and how do you survive without your soul mate and best friend beside you. I wanted to shout at them both and was laughing crying and screaming at them at times.
I felt so emotional reading as they have so many events and obstacles trying to tear their world to shreds. In the end is love enough to overcome their problems or do they let themselves be torn apart...
The main characters Alexis and Cory are the most loveable adorable couple and I fell in love with the pair of them almost instantly. They had me captivated from the start and their first meeting is one of those cute stories that can go on for generations its so cute.
There are a huge range of secondary characters who are nearly as lovely as the mains and have their own stories within the book that fit it with everything else that's going on
Altogether a wonderful heartwarming love story
I adore Jettie's style and this is 100% a 5***** read

After reading And in Time, I could not wait to see what would happen between Alexis and Cory. Their story had a few bumps along the way in book 1 but nothing too rocky. But book 2 is a completely different story. This book brought out the emotions BIG TIME!!!

Everything is going good for Alexis and Cory. They are settled into their lives and things are going good until it isn’t. In the blink of an eye the whole entire book takes a complete turn around. There were times I want to slap Alexis because I knew she knew better. I wanted to shake her and scream at her to get it together because she was so much better than that. And Cory… words alone don’t do justice to the things I wanted to do to Cory. Cory pissed me off through about 60% of this book. NO JOKE… if I could have crawled through my kindle and punched him in the face I would have multiple times… OVER AND OVER!!!

This is one of my favorite stories by Jettie. And in Time is more of the love story to pave the way and This Too Shall Pass is of course the bumps along the way. Be ready because I laughed, cried, screamed, yelled, and almost broke my kindle a few times. Don’t miss out on this fantastic series that will leave you wondering if this too can really pass!?

This is the first book I can remember that I could not finish. The writing is horrible. Horrible.

Quotations are in weird places makes it confusing to read. Words are used incorrectly that make no sense, like diner "patriots" instead of "patrons." My high school english teachers would have never passed this as acceptable, much less publishable.

I got this as a free download and I would pay to NOT read it. If you had nothing else on your list to read, take a nap. I would still recommend not attempting this one. It is that bad.

This Too Shall Pass (Time Duo #2)
By: Jettie Woodruff
5/5 stars

*This review is for the newly edited/rewritten & new released version on 6/25/2015.*
*I received an Advanced Copy in exchange for an honest review.*

This book is a continuance of “And in Time” which is Alexis and Cory’s story. At the end of the first book, there was an HEA, but for me the book was lacking angst and the oomph that I’ve come to expect from Jettie Woodruff. Though, there were times that I was cursing her through my kindle & yelling at the characters, I was gripped by this book.

This book takes place close to a year from when the first book ended. Alexis has still been holding out on the marriage front which causes insecurities to arise. Alexis’s ex, Mitch returns home and I just wanted to punch him in the face. He was very self-centered, which is something that we already knew because of the first book. I understand not giving him all the information, but I wanted him to be wounded by words. I always like it when characters reap what they sow.

Mistakes are made which also causes misunderstandings that are never corrected. I understand that that was used as a major point of contention for the storyline, but where it was used for the main point of contention for the majority of the book was somewhat of a let-down. Don’t get me wrong, there were several other major events going on that were also focused on. But there was some definite conflict going on that tore up my heart.

Through it all, Alexis and Cory learn there are other sides to each other, just like all people have good and bad sides, so do these two. While the book was solely from Alexis’ view, I wish that there would have been some written from Cory’s POV. I think it would have been helpful since an important plot was concealed from the reader, even though it happened to/by/with/for Alexis. But that is just a pet peeve of mine in all books.

This Too Shall Pass by Jettie Woodruff
Alexis & Cory continued
TIME IS FREE, BUT IT'S PRICELESS

Ok so, I wasn't sure I was going to like this one. I mean the first one in the series really didn't appeal to me. In fact... up until 20% in, I was feeling very agitated at the story. I felt the beginning needed more of a hook a little earlier on, but at 20% it finally hooked me. This continuation of Alexis and Cory's story was one of angst, humor, and so much damn aggravation.

Alexis was never my favorite character, but she wedge her way into my heart a bit through this installment. With everything she had going on and everything she needed to say but didn't.. I wanted to kick her ever-loving ass!! At times she seemed very childish and bratty. I'll never understand why people just don't spit the shit out... say what you gotta say and be done with it.... NOOOOO, she let shit go on for months... pffff!

Cory, well, this dude was pissing me right the fuck off. He seemed to put work ahead of family... at least in the beginning... he made snide remarks about Alexis in front of the kids... He just broke my heart.. I'm not sure he ever redeemed himself with me. Maybe a bit, but not enough for me to ever want him back in my life!

Good supporting character cast again... I love Bernie, Walt, Lola, Sam, and the rest of the clan... they all made me laugh out loud. Even Mr. Dog!

This story was way better than it's predecessor. It's had more angst, more feeling, and just made me feel more connected to it. The punctuation is still lacking, and the pacing needs to flow a little better, but other than that, it was a fairly good book.

I love this conclusion to Cory and Alexis' story, it made me feel so sad in places but also happy, it's so emotional I loved every minute of it and I propably cried about 90% through, with tears of utter sadness, happy tears and some out of pure frustration. It's a hell of an emotional roller coaster ride.

And In Time ended with Cory and Alexis living in their perfect little bubble. They were so happy and in love with each other and their perfect life together as a family...

But this is a Jettie story...there was bound to be a spanner in the works somewhere.

There's a fine line between love and hate, Cory and Lex love each other so fiercely and then hating each other with passion, both hiding their own personal hearkbreak. Still having that electric sexual chemistry between them, neither of them wanted to feel. I wanted to shake them both and bash their heads together. They are both such stubborn characters. Amongst all the hate, lies, misunderstandings and a huge horrific loss I wanted to hug Alexis and just tell her that it would all work out and everything was going to be ok. She is such a strong character it hurt too see her break down.

This Too Shall Pass is a story of love, passion hate and betrayal, loss and the great joy that life and love can bring. Both And In Time and This Too Shall Pass are beautiful emotional stories not to be missed.

Given ARC for honest review.

Cory and Alexis, what can I say about these two besides that I just love them. I felt so much emotion because let's face it, reality is a roller coaster ride of feelings and this one just hits home and is real. When we finished And In Time, the two were just really getting started and things seemed to be going okay but in This Too Shall Past, their world starts to crumble and we wonder if they didn't jump into things too fast. Jettie had me sad and angry at both Cory and Alexis alot in this book. Mainly Cory though because he just wasn't listening to Alexis and automatically assumed she was in the wrong. There were misunderstandings that that Alexis didn't try her hardest to clear up though but who would really try if you see how Cory was acting. She's just alil pigheaded too though so it didn't help the situation. Not only with their relationship up in the air, Alexis is going to have to deal with a couple more major blows to her life and try and handle them all while already feeling emotionally broken down and it just broke my heart. Just have you some tissues handy and be ready for something real here because Jettie will steal alil piece of your heart with this one, possibly break it and then put you all back together by the end of this book and make you wonder how she does it.

This Two Shall Pass picks right off where And In Time leaves you. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen between Cory and Alexis. I thought their story would end with book one, but I was wrong! I still love both of the characters. I still love their story. Maybe even more now after finishing this one.
Cory and Alexis in this book….all I can say is, hold on. Hold on tight as you read this one. This books is packed full of emotions that will make you laugh, cry, and seriously want to make you throw your kindle against the wall. I was so angry at times more at Cory, but in a way I understood him. I got why he was so pissed, but then again, I was made because he didn’t think.
Alexis also made me angry, but I was sadder with her. At times I really wished I could climb into the book world and hug her. I hated some of the things she had to go through, but I felt she grew so much in this book. Her character became stronger in the end.
I can honestly say, that this Time Duo, is by far my favorite by Jettie. I loved every single second, even when I had to walk away from the story. The description of this book fits it to a “T”, and I highly recommend reading this. I can only imagine what Jettie will write next!

I couldn't wait to see what happens next with Cory and Alexis. Things were so good at the end of the first book, and they continue through the beginning of this one as well. Alexis is comfortable, settling into life with Cory and the two girls. Life is good, except they aren't married yet, which irritates Cory and her family to no end. To make matters difficult, Mitch comes back to town. He's going to be coaching at the school, and of course everyone welcomes him back. There is tension between Alexis and Mitch, but for her, there is nothing left between them. Things start to get complicated for Cory and Alexis, and they are both so stubborn!!! If one of them tried, or just would listen then a lot of heartache would have been avoided. This one had me all over the place, I went from loving Cory, to actually hating him and hoping that Alexis would just leave him in the dust. Then you have Alexis who is hard headed too, seeming to make things harder for herself. Overall I really really enjoyed this book, I was happy, angry, laughing at some parts, but I also cried. I never shed tears while reading a book, but this one touched me in certain parts and I couldn't help but FEEL what the characters were feeling. I love the title and there is truth in it because in the end is does pass.

Ok - where to start? I actually liked this book up until about 80% of the way through. It was a gentle, slow-paced story about good old-fashioned country folk and what they got up to. It meandered but it was sweet and I genuinely liked the heroine. 80% through, that's when the author decides everything should hit the fan and create problems for the couple.
The heroine basically goes nuts; does something really stupid, then refuses to forgive her fiancé, who has every right to be pissed off with her.
Anyway, I felt as though I was reading this book for years - I'm just glad I'm finished.
P.S

Past tense of drag is dragged - not effing drug!
Please, if you're going to self-publish, get someone who speaks English as a first language to check it and make the corrections - it was truly horrible in some places - the punctuation was ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I am not really sure I was prepared for this book emotionally. It definitely brought on the tears so get the kleenex box ready. I was totally envious of the relationship that Cory and Alexis had in the first book. NOT so much in the 2nd book. It was definitely a realistic look of what happens when families seperate. I may have been a little disappointed of the reason they separated. I do feel like people should communicate more especially when children are involved. I honestly thought what happens between the to of them should have never taken so long to be revealed..But I guess that is the little miracle in disguise and she realizes why her Daddy always tells her that This too shall pass..

This is a true love story that will make you laugh , cry and smile all at once while reading this book. Alexis has everything she she needs and isn't looking for love until she meets Cory .
I haven't read a story like this in a long time . Whenever I read one of Jettie's books I always feel like I can connect with the characters she writes . Jettie's writing style is different and I love it she pours her soul into her books and it shows with her characters. Once you read this book you'll fall in love with Alexis and Cory.

I would've given this book 4 stars, but the grammar, punctuation and spelling were horrible. Quotation marks were just thrown all over and not in the correct places. I mean, when the letter "Q" is used in place of the word "cue" you know someone clearly did a shitty job proofreading/editing. It got really annoying after a while. Luckily it was free on Amazon. The story started out a little slow, but picked up and ended up being a pretty good book. This book had a lot of potential.

Way To Many Errors

This book was great, I loved it, great story but it was also very irritating because there were at least 50 typos that I found and probably more that I missed. That isn’t cool for a book that we actually pay for. Whoever edited it, or didn’t edit it but was supposed to should be ashamed.

I would love to say more about the story but it isn’t worth my time if it isn’t worth it for it to be correctly edited and spell checked.

This Too Shall Pass is the continuing story of Alexis and Cory. I really wanted to love it, as I heard it was filled with way more angst than the first book And In Time (which by the way you do need to read first in order to understand the story from the beginning). And I like angst in a story, I like to feel the emotions of the characters as if they are real and I am there with them. I did find the first book lacking in that regard. However, this second book just missed the mark for me, although I do want to recommend it to fans of And In Time.

I think the main issue I had was that the angst and drama presented itself almost too strongly, as if the author were trying too hard to make up for the lack of it in the first book. While the characters did get their HEA by the end of the first story, and this one picks up about a year later, it almost felt like the drama that unfolded could have been avoided. I understand that the author needed a conflict to draw out emotion in the story, but it to me seemed a bit forced. I enjoy drama and feeling the need to throw my Kindle at times when reading, I have no issue with that and this book definitely gave me that feeling and I did like it. I just found myself wanting to punch Alexis in the head and then wanting to smack Cory many times and I couldn't really decide who I was rooting for. Miscommunication always bothers me as a form of angst, it has my whole life both in books and on TV. I have no idea why. So that could have been my issue with this story. I just felt like Alexis could have been more upfront with Cory to avoid some of the drama.

Overall, while this unfortunately is not one of my favorite series, I do enjoy Jettie Woodruff's writing and her other series and still recommend her books to friends. What isn't a perfect read for me, could be just what someone else is looking for. I still look forward to whatever else Jettie has planned in her writing future.

“I know you are and I can’t you one bit, but I hope you don’t do that. I want to be a part of not only their everyday life, but yours as well. I want to go to bed with you and wake up to you every day for the rest of my life. Please want that too. I’m begging you to want that, too Lex”

This is the 2nd book the first book is called And in Time

This is Cory and Alexis’s continuing true journey to finding their happily ever after within the world of complications and love.

Do you remember your first kiss? Sweaty palms, your heart beating out of your chest, the anticipation of the moment, the face? What happens when that past comes to your future and seeks out to want what was once was? Does your heart stay with the one that truly holds it dear or does it sway for a blimp in time to see what could have been?

The sex between Cory and Alexis is like the growing of a banana as the fruit grows on tree we give the tree the nurturing and love it deserves. As the fruit ripens just for picking we anticipate the flavors that come from within. The peel could be read in this case as sensual, erotic and stimulating and nirvana in the first bite.

The author created a read that will be memorable for all that reads this book. The roller coaster of emotions is just in awe. In places in the book you will want to shake both characters but fear not they each want to do the same to one another. I hope to read more of this amazing author in the future she gives the first kiss a new meaning.

Happy Reading

Wow!! Finally an amazing book that looks at the hardships of relationships and splits.

This is a follow-up to "And In Time" and continues with the story of Alexis and Cory about a year after the first one ends. The relationship is progressing well but when Alexis's high school boyfriend arrives back in town an event occurs that shatters the relationship between Alexis and Cory.

As Alexis tries to explain what happened to Cory he shuts her out and the two begin to live separate lives, sharing custody of Riki and Kinley. The pain that Alexis goes through is real and raw and unless you have gone through something like this, it may seem too much but in reality it isn't.

As other events occur Alexis and Cory seem to get closer yet then they are driven farther apart again. There is still something holding them together as a family but the bitterness and betrayal that the two have towards each other remains very strong. Yet their daughters still want them to be a family and beneath it all the two still love each other.

I loved this book as I can relate to what the couple are going through and to me the emotions were so strong and real. "This too shall pass" means whatever you are going through you will get through and come out stronger, even if at the time you don't think you possibly will or can.

This book produced both laughs and tears and the realization that you can never go through the dark times on your own and sometimes you need a couple of really good girlfriends!!

I love Jettie's writing, she has this way of pulling me into the story and investing so much into the characters. I could not put this down, I finally finished at 3:00 am and suffered the next day with a book hangover. Was it worth it? yes! Cory and Alexis get down and dirty in this one and not only between the sheets. I actually cried a few times at how cruel Cory is to Alexis.
I loved it and hated it and yes that to me is a very good book. I did notice a few grammatical errors but hey, I'm no English professor so it didn't really bother me much apparently it did bother may other readers.

My one and only problem and I may have to write to Ms. Woodruff on this one. Why for crying out loud does Cory insist that Riki is not Alexis daughter? She may not be by blood but she is a mother to that little girl?!!!!! This really, really got to me! She never calls him out on it and I wonder why!!!!!! Why!!!!!! You horses ass Cory!!! Drove me crazy mad!

You will fall deeper in love with all the crazy Characters, Alexis, Riki, Alexis' Dad, and BFF and of course Mr. Dog loved him!

This one seriously has drama and pulls at your heartstrings.

This Too Shall Pass is the continuation of the story between Alexis and Cory. It all started with “And in Time…” and even though the first book didn’t end in a cliff hanger, I finished it knowing there was more to come. However, I wasn’t prepared for what happened in “This Too Shall Pass”.
There were times while I was reading this book that I had to put it down. Don’t get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with this book, but some of the events in this book made me unhappy and even angry.
But as I read this book, the words “this too shall pass” were repeated more than once and I continued reading with that thought in the back of my mind. I wanted my HEA and I wasn’t sure if I was going to get it. You’ll have to read it to find out, but make sure you read “And in Time…” first.
I love it when I read a book which allows me to become emotionally involved in the future of the characters. To me, this is a sign of an excellent story and excellent writing.
I gave This Too Shall Pass 5 stars.

I was given an arc of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

My biggest complaint in reading 'And In Time' (which is the first part of this story) was the lack of conflict. You are given conflict in this novel, but it just fell short for me. It seemed to be too much. It was like Jettie Woodruff was trying to make up for the lack of it in book 1. I have to be completely honest and say, the actions of Alexis and Cory really caused a disconnect in the story. They both came across very juvenile and extremely unlikable. You read a book because you genuinely want to read the story and see where it takes you. If the characters don't seem to 'mesh', then it's hard to become vested.

It still has a slow, small town feel, like book 1. The ending was the saving grace for me. You think you know exactly what will happen, but you don't. Everything is finally revealed and everything starts to make sense.

Alexis and Cory's relationship was full of many ups and downs, unfortunately more downs than ups, but they both ended up where they were meant to be. Alexis did make a mistake, but unfortunately Cory did not let her explain, and assumed the worst, we know what happens when people assume, right? It took a wake up call and blurting of the truth from Alexis' friend Bernie, for Cory to finally realize how wrong he was? Will he be too late to beg for Alexis' forgiveness? Riki is still as adorable as ever, and Kinley had me cracking up, especially with the way she said the word "Pepsi", (You'll have to read the book yourself to find out how she said it). I loved this book, just as I love all of Jettie's books. She is one of my favorite authors and I will always recommend her books to people. Keep up the good work , Jettie! I can't wait to read your next book!
