Tentative Tourist: A Mayne Attraction Short Story

Rate this book
Grayson Gregory is finally being taken seriously by his father, the founder and CEO of Gregory Geologic Resources. Anticipating his first opportunity to lead a project management team on a survey for Iceland's Ministry of Natural Resources, he hopes to prove to his father and the executive staff that he's ready to assume greater leadership responsibilities within the international company that will someday be his.

When world renowned geologist and longtime family friend Dr. Samuel Mayne comes out of retirement to consult on the project, Grayson is ecstatic. He is certain that the collaboration and Midas touch genius of his mentor, Dr. Mayne, will guarantee the success of his debut in the driver's seat. But the presence of Dr. Mayne's travelling companion results in a frustrating change of assignments for Grayson, who becomes tasked with the oversight of a Tentative Tourist.

About the author

Ann Mauren

Ann Mauren splits her time between multiple career paths—not multiple personalities as some have alleged. As Marketing Coordinator for one of the nation’s largest foodservice distributors, she enjoys opportunities to access her inner copywriter and the challenge of creating tantalizing pitches for sometimes pitch resistant items like Gluten Free Fish Sticks, Coffee Thickener and Pureed Spinach, to mention a few.

As Director of Domestic Affairs for her family, she maintains its facilities and supply levels, runs the foodservice operation, ensures availability of ready to wear apparel, and provides tutoring, life coaching and personal hygiene assistance to the two shortest members of the team.

In her spare time Ann Mauren writes fiction for mostly her own amusement and occasionally that of one or two of her author friends—who swear they’re laughing with her…

To see what all the levity is about, check out her free short “Barefoot Heroine” and her slightly taller but equally free debut novel “Mayne Attraction: In The Spotlight.” (Free on the Amazon Kindle Store at http://tinyurl.com/4uermj8) And for goodness sake, please leave a quick review or comment somewhere for her (Contact Ann at http://mayneattraction.com/submit-art... or on Twitter at @AnnMauren). You’ll feel so much better about yourself if you do—and so will she!

Another short story to help us pass the time until the rest of the series is released! While I admit that Gray is not my favorite character, this book did provide some insight into his first enocunter with "Ellie." I have a feeling I might like him better once I read the full book. I love the idea that the books are written from different perspectives, and this book demonstrates that each character has a unique voice. I'm excited for the rest of the series!

Its nice that we got to read something from Greyson's POV. Although he is not my favorite character, not that I disliked him, but this little story gives you a glimpse of him. Where he is coming from and what he wants. I don't see him really falling for Ellery, but there is some kind of attraction in there.

I'm really looking forward for the second book of the series. Please Ms. Mauren don't torture us anymore! When is the second book coming out? We are anxiously waiting for it!!!

Another fine story by Ann Mauren. Ms. Ann is such the tease. Giving us just enough to keep us drooling at the bit. I truly enjoyed this short and can't wait until we get to read the full story from Grayson's view. I can see already that Gray is falling for Ellery. I think it was the horses. Please don't keep us waiting long.

Loved this too! Serials always make me feel like I'm a drug addict waiting for my next hit. I'm on pins and needles waiting for these next two books.
