That Boston Man
Judging by all the photos of him with the model du jour on his arm, Rome Lockwood can have any woman he wants, and newbie reporter Lexie Templeton has heard rumors about him that are hot enough to scorch paper. And now everyone thinks she made the decision to run them in the gossip column! Rome insists that Lexie explain—and he doesn't seem to be the kind of man who takes no for an answer . . .
Kona Winds
Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our descent into Honolulu International Airport . . .
Julie Lancaster can't wait. Taking a job as tutor in the household of a wealthy island family was the smartest move she ever made. Compared to the New England winter she left behind, Hawaii seems like paradise. Friendly people . . . fragrant flowers everywhere . . . sugar-sand beaches . . . it has to be the most romantic place on earth. And the head of the household, handsome Ruel Chandler, couldn't agree more.

Sweet reads. Simple.I gave them both 3.5 stars. "THAT BOSTON MAN" was a dramatic roller coaster ride of emotion! "KONA WINDS" was cute. It deserves more then 3.5 stars.=0) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spoiler Note to Self:"THAT BOSTON MAN" Boston Rome Lockwood(rich)+Lexie Templeton(political reporter, pal),Ginger Franksen(22yo,pal,ex-roommate, sports reporter),Shari Sullivan(society & style reporter, pal).
Spoiler Note to Self:"KONA WINDS" Boston & Hawaii Julie Lancaster(new private tutor,ex-waitress,22yo)+Ruel Chandler(older half bro,35yo,nephew,rich), Emily Harmon(59yo,aunt),Deborah C(Debbie,sis,16yo,niece,H.S. junior).
Two stories combined into one book. That Boston Man was more to my liking. Lexie and Rome begin as opponents. The reverse role date added some humor and irony. I felt it wrapped up too quickly. Konu Winds was informative about Hawaiian history and culture. Reul and Julie's chemistry was good, but love was not believable. They went from barely speaking to each other to being in love. I wish Debbie had more of a role in this story.
Enjoyable read especially Kona Winds set in Hawaii. Felt like I was there with the vivid descriptions of the land, the house, the city, the beaches and tourist attractions. Julie and Ruel had immediate attraction the moment they met. There was a sizzle in the air that got hot, then cold, then hot again, but can it last and do they want it to? Em was a little stern and Deborah although severely injured in a car accident has quite a bit of spunk for a 16 year old. Frank, the surfer dude, needed to take things down a notch and take no for an answer. Julie's Boston landlady was a hoot. Loved the addition of the Hawaiian words but glad they were translated for us. Abrupt ending with a happily ever in the offing that came on too soon. There was some closure but still loose ends. An epilogue would have been nice.
300 hundred million copies of this author's books purchased and this book has 4 ratings on Goodreads and no reviews. It wasn't THAT bad. This book is two in one, short romances, they are mild for romances reminding me of that country western song, passionate kisses. This came into my possession because it is one of the only bookcrossing wild finds for our family. My husband found it at an ATM and I finally got around to reading it because someone requested it from the romance VBB.
Its two books in one. This is a love story. If you like love stories with boy meets girl plots and happy endings, this will work for you. These are not romance with mystery or suspense which I do prefer.
