Growing up the third child of five—yes, smack dab in the middle and the only girl to boot—Donna Fasano had no idea she would one day be a published author. Her story-telling talents came to light when she conjured lively and elaborate tales of pure blarney (yes, she has a bit of Irish in her blood) for her children.

This review was originally posted on Big Al's Books and Pals review blog on December 19, 2012

When divorced Reece Newton, a senior claims adjuster for an insurance company, is asked to reevaluate a claim by Maggie Dunlap, he gets more than he bargained for. When he learns she is being terrorized by an unknown assailant, he offers her a place to stay while his eight-year-old son Jeff is off at summer camp. They believe they have two weeks to solve the mystery.

I was worried I would not like Reece as well as I liked the other dads in this series. Reece suffered a bad marriage, it soured his opinion of all women, and he never failed to express these opinions to his friends. Not surprisingly, his eight-year-old son mirrors his father in this regard and his attitude gets him sent home from summer camp after the first week. With Maggie now living in the extra room, Reece is forced to face his son’s attitude problem head on. I don’t think Maggie or Reece made it clear to the author that neither of them is looking for a relationship, because the attraction between these two is hot.

Maggie is a strong, intelligent, and independent woman with a career as a Private Investigator that has been temporarily put on hold. She agrees to try to help Jeff see women in a more positive light while babysitting him this week he was supposed to be away at camp as repayment for giving her a safe place to live. She also informs Reece that Jeff has more than likely learned this behavior from him. The conversations that ensue are realistic and enlightening, as Jeff, Reece, and Maggie all start to see the light. It is a hard road to unlearn bad habits and attitudes and learn to trust, depend on, and love again. This is an intelligent unique story that never lags. I LOVE the journeys Donna Fasano takes her characters and her readers on.

I purchased a copy of the short novel Single Daddy Club book 3: Reese by Donna Fasano and this review was given freely.
Psychology, suspense, and a little steam. A fitting end to the series. Insurance investigator Reese meets his match when private investigator Maggie storms into his office to dispute a vandalism claim. Fate and attraction bring divorced single dad Reese and Maggie closer as they try to solve Maggie's mysterious break ins and work to correct the twisted misconceptions each has of the opposite sex.

Claim for her video camera was denied, because no forced entry and was seven years old. Reece is intrigued, with her, and now finding it was needed for a case. When more happened, and again no forced entry she is being stalked and afraid. Moving in with Reece while son was at camp. They maybe attracted to each, and even in same house, can it become a family. A lot of action, she doesn’t care for men, and he doesn’t care for woman. Maybe it just needed to be the right ones.

The last to fall.

Reece had decided he would raise his son Jeff on his own. He wouldn't get married again. Maggie was a PI working for women to find out about their husbands for cheating. But when she starts to get a stalker Reese steps in to help. But Maggie seems to be helping them find out not all women are bad.

Love these guys

Reece is the final one to fall. Maggie and him meet through an insurance claim. They are opposites and have had nightmare relationships in their past. He has a son who has issues stemming from his dad's issues. The ups and downs that they all go through are crazy. Love the other guys in the club and the way the book ends. Loved this set.

Great story

Put a man hating woman and a woman hating man together and you may just get a mess. Or if they try to understand each other you could get a wonderful romance.

Good story.

Reese and Maggie get off to a rough start and things get tangled. But as the story progresses you see glimpses of a satisfactory ending.

A very easy read, I Enjoyed the suspense that the characters run into. Shallow but yet enjoyable. I will try one of the earliest series. This was book three.

Add an independent woman and a woman hating man together and what do you get? Love! Love that changes them both and Reese's young son who also mistrusts women. It makes you smile, then laugh, then brush away a tear.

Great read

Wonderful wrap up to the series. Nice twist on who the bad guy was. Great interactions between the characters and I really like the camaraderie the no longer single dads shared. I would recommend this series to any reader who enjoys great romantic stories.

The 3rd and final installment in the Single Daddy Club focuses on Reece's story. The most jaded and wounded of the three men, Reece's suspicious nature is a good fit for his work, but has caused problems with his son's behavior. When his marriage dissolved and his wife moved to Richmond to pursue her career, his attitude toward relationships was soured and he was not afraid of sharing his opinions. Constantly the butt of gentle and not so gentle teasing by the other members of the club, Reece starts the story as a man that is deeply wounded and suspicious of women.

Of the three stories, this was the most intensively character driven: yes there is danger, attraction and even romance, but the real enjoyment in this story comes from the character's interactions and their slow realizations that will dissolve their long-held prejudices. Reece's son Jeff is much more a primary character in this story: as his conversations, remarks and questions all serve to bring new perspectives to them all, and allow for growth. While the other Daddys in the stories are very obviously in love with their kids, neither had built the sort of "us against the world" togetherness of Reece and Jeff, and seeing their growth in opening up to accept Maggie, and even make efforts to eliminate the prejudicial feelings they have about women was sweet and well defined.

This volume managed to mix parenting and relationships, attraction, danger and romance to allow the characters to grow, shed old prejudices and move forward for their own happy ever after. Fasano skillfully integrates multiple elements and creates a romance that is sweeter for the multiple resolutions and growth for all the characters. Most certainly my favorite of the three, it has perfect pride of place as the final volume in the collection and a must read for readers who like their romance characters to come from a life they could lead themselves.

I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I picked up this book not only because it looked interesting but also because I've another book by Donna Fasano and liked it. While this is part of a series of books, The Single Daddy Club: Reece is the only one I've read.

An easy read with a little mystery thrown in to make it interesting. I don't think I've ever read a book that centered around private investigation. In any case, this should be fun to discover why someone wants to stop Maggie from doing her job.

With the help of her insurance agent, Reece, wait a minute?!!! With the help of her insurance agent? Yes, I actually wrote that! Out of some sense of duty, after he sees that her place has been ransacked, he provides a place of safety while she figures it out.

I found certain parts of the story to be a real stretch for me. I'm not sure my personal insurance agent would go so far as to offer up his home if I was in danger. More than likely he would find me a shelter or a hotel to stay in and then leave me to my own devices! In this day and age, there is too many instances of bad things happening to good people, so to let a stranger into one's home is not a good idea.

While the mystery portion of the book brought a little bit of excitement to the mix, the reader should really consider this book to be a real fantasy as I don't think it would ever happen in real life. Although the storyline might make for a television movie of the week...hmmm...I wonder if Ms. Fasano has ever thought of that!

I enjoyed this it was a wonderful read about learning to trust again. When one it hurt in the worse way by the one you love walking out on you is bad enough but to walk out on your child has to be the hardest to handle. For Reece it was a blow not only to his ego, his manhood but to his son as well. They do not need woman and won’t let any in their lives. Reece didn’t know he was teaching his son bad habits and turning him away from women. He learns the error of his ways when a woman comes in for an insurance claim and he ends up moving her in his home because someone is out to get her destroying her personal property. Both father and son need an attitude adjustment and Maggie is the women to fit the bill.

This was a nice short read that is enjoyable and keeps you guessing along with wanting to shake a few males. It does hold a lesson on what our actions teach those around us. How small children learn from us. I really have enjoyed this whole series. I highly recommend it to readers who want a little enjoyment without all the heavy stuff.

My Thoughts...

"Sometimes my mind becomes like puffy dandelion seeds blown about by a stiff breeze."* When that happens I like to read something light, fun and fluffy just like those dandelion seeds. Well, this book fit the bill, it was fun, light romance, and fluffy. It was a fast read, actually it is the third book of three in "The Single Daddy Club." There are three guys that make up the single daddy club. Derrick, Jason and Reese, they are best friends, each with their own child to raise on their own. Let me say there is nothing mind blowing about the story, just three men and there babies, and a little help from their friends.

I liked this series and awarded it three stars. This book is a part of my Nook library.

*A quote from the book, but it describes my mind so much of the time, I just had to use it.

Pretty good entry in the Single Daddy Club group. Reece is an insurance investigator dealing with a woman whose claim has been denied. Maggie has had a video recorder destroyed under mysterious circumstances and can't provide a police report.

Reece is intrigued even though he is suspicious. He never trusts women in any case because of the bad marriage he left. Maggie has no trust in men because of her past experiences. Worse, Jeff, Reece's son has picked up most of Reece''s attitudes. Maggie begins to have an effect on both father and son, and they all begin to see things differently.

Maggie is still being threatened, though. The solution to that story brings in more drama, leading to the eventual HEA.

What a wonderful romance. I thoroughly enjoyed all the books in The Single Daddy Series - hopefully Ms. Fasano will take the hint and get her finger out and write some more. :-)

Reece has been sworn off women for a while. His reluctance to trust has had a damning influence on his young son. But, when PI Maggie Dunlap calls in to Reece's Insurance office to complain that her insurance claim has been rejected, feelings he never thought he'd feel again suddenly resurface.

An excellent romance that I would highly recommend over and over again.

There was excitement & stuff, but learning to trust to love, really? I just don't buy it!

This series was okay, but the author has strange ideas about love & attraction.

Of the series, there was excitement, which was fun, but love like that & so quickly? Pul-eeeese!

Worth reading? Up to you.

Sweet and sexy

Sweet sexy entry in the Daddy Club series. PI Maggie is being harassed by an unknown man. She believes it's related to her work investigating cheating husbands, but the police don't seem to believe she's not causing the damage herself... neither did Reese until he came to investigate the car damage. Now he's taking her home to protect and things heat up.

This book was a real dud compared with the first two books in this series. The main couple were constantly pushing each other away or needing time apart and then presto insta-love at the end?! What? I can't remember any romance I've ever read that gave the couple so little happy time together. Sorry But this one wasted my time.

I disliked both of the main characters...a misandrist and a misogynist. What shallow, narrow minded people these two were...all based on one experience with the opposite sex.
