Rethinking Darwin- A Vedic study of Darwinism and intelligent design by Lief A. Jensen (Illustrated, 31 Jan 2011) Paperback

Rate this book
For more than a century, Charles Darwin's theory of evolution has been the theoretical framework, the 'paradigm', in mainstream biology and related life-sciences. Nevertheless, great advances in biochemistry over the past decades have created an Intelligent Design opposition which maintains that the theory of evolution is beset with anomalies. In Rethinking Darwin, Danish science writer Leif A. Jensen, in collaboration with leading Intelligent Design proponents such as Dr. Michael Behe, Dr.William Dembski, and Dr. Jonathan Wells, points out flaws in the Darwinian paradigm and examines the case for intelligent design. The argument for design is next expanded with further evidence from palaeontology, archeology, cosmology, and studies of consciousness. Finally, based on the irreducible nature of consciousness, the book suggests an alternative paradigm drawn from India's ancient Vedic philosophy of nature.

Must Read for all who believe we were not chimpanzees!!! ( omg) or not pure transformation of chimpanzees. Otherwise then some or all chimpanzees would have became little more intelligent and a bit more like human. Or it would have been easier by this time for us to enhance them to cohabit with us to some extent. DNA too don't prove that.

The title is misleading ..except for the last four pages there is nothing "Vedic" in this book .
Even though the author is a proponet of intelleignt design most of his arguments against Drawin were copied from creationist web sites which could easily be countered or answered by a lay man

Normally intelliegnt design prorpent falls into two categories -The idea that the first living cell was created and intelligently ptogrammed to evolve all other life forms with out further involment...... some propose a process of mainly natural evolution interpretted by ocassional intelleignt intervention...It seems that Alfred Russel wallace's idea that the evolution of species is a divinely created process meant to accomodate spritual beings in physical bodies as they engage in an ongoing spritual evolution --the vedic idea proposed by the author seems similar to russel's one .......

soul, telepeathy, paranormal -near death experiences the author is tying hard to give credibility to all kinds of psedo-scientific stuff and a basic knowlwwdge of darwin evolution will let us know that the author is misinterpreting lot of facts and is in a sticky wicket..

nothing scientific ...yet read to understand a counter view point ...

A negative book for Darwin lovers, more towards Soul Concept, negating that life can exist through Chemical Reaction!

Confused!!
