Rate this book
Some old favorites - "The Eensy, Weensy Spider," and some less familiar rhymes - "There Was a Little Turtle," are all dressed up in double-page illustrations with easy-to-follow diagrams for telling the stories with finger gestures. Counting rhymes, tickling rhymes, and rhymes to laugh with - these have charmed generations of small children, parents, teachers, and librarians.

Here they are, to be shared in a lap with one child or in a group with many children, in a stunningly designed book by a popular young artist.

Technically this is not a picture book. It is a collection of illustrated games to play with babies and young children. It is a wonderful resource for parents and care providers.

Here is an example which I used in a recent library "Baby Time"...

There were two little blackbirds (hold up the pointer finger of each hand)
Sitting on a hill
One named Jack (hold one up higher)
One named Jill (hold the other one up higher)
Fly away Jack (put one hand behind head or back)
Fly away Jill (put the other hand behind head or back)
Come back Jack (bring finger back into sight)
Come back Jill (bring other finger back)

For babies, just bounce baby while reciting rhyme.
