Great "scary book" for any youngster from kindergarten to maybe 2nd grade. I had won this particular book as a prize in Kindergarten with a recording that went with it with all the sound effects of the Old English Ghost Story circa 1972.. Still a treasured memory till this day.

This is a great book for the younger children. It repeats words a lot and is a great story to follow. And it is also a ghost story so it might be great to tell closer to Halloween, so I think the kids will enjoy it.

I found this book scary as a child and my mom remembers it being told around the campfire as a ghost story. My preschooler loves reading this book though (I try to read it very matter of fact and not scary). She likes that everything is teeny tiny (small) and likes to say "give me my bone!" and yells "take it!" at the end. I think she thinks the goose wants the bone - ha ha ha. Any way- it's one of the limited kids selections at Grammy's that has survived the purgings over the years that we pulled out since we didn't bring many with us this trip and we needed a little more variety.

I liked this book a "teeny tiny" bit more than Jenna did, I think. The thing is, it was a bit morbid. I guess I didn't really read the full title when I picked it out; I didn't realize it was a ghost story until I started reading it and the Teeny Tiny Woman took a bone off of someone's grave so she could make soup with it. Ugh. I was not/am not prepared to explain bones and graveyards and ghosts to my 3 year old, so I think I would have to recommend it for older kids.
