Explore something daring... A conservative suburban housewife is stripped of more than her inhibitions on a hot summer night, outdoors, for all the neighbors to see.
Something sensual... A wanting woman, a warm shower, a bar of soap- and some alone time that's going to change the way she feels about herself.
Something wild... A kinky husband has only one question when his teasing wife decides to charge him for it. How much to go as far as I want?
Something out of this world... She's a beauty-built and programmed for pleasure as the perfect sex doll. So lifelike. So insatiable. But a word of she's not to be toyed with.
Hi. I'm Joan Eliabeth Lloyd. Let me tell you a bit about myself.
Pesonal stuff: I was born in 1941 - yes, as of this writing I'm 77. I have a wonderful partner of thirty years named Ed (no, we're not married - for tax reasons) two wonderful daughters, a talented son-in-law and three grandchildren, Sarah and Adam, both out of college and gain-fully employed and Luke, aged 15.
Professional stuff: I wrote my first book, Nice Couples Do, in 1990, because I wanted to share my ideas about sexual communication and sexual freedom. I've written many books (novels and non-fiction) since but stopped writing several years ago.
As you may have gathered, I'm a devoted couch potato. I'm an omnivorous reader, both in my eyes and in my ears.
My present interest is in Battered women. I donate earrings, about 900 pair a month, to shelters all over the country, with the help of attendees at my many workshops. Phew!!!!
Fun little read, even if it was a bit basic and vanilla. But then you get on Goodreads and realize the author was in her 70s when she wrote it and for her generation... It probably was "bawdy" and "racy". Short, quick chapters that make for some warm and fuzzies that's easy to put down. I wasn't looking for grand stories when I picked this up and the straight to the point style was perfectly ok with me.
This collection of “erotic” short stories proved to be a fun, sexy read, but classifying it as truly erotic seems to a little too generous. Yes, they were explicitly detailed and highly sexual, but there wasn’t any exploration of the characters in a non-sexual manner. To me, gratuitous sex scenes without any back-story can be sexy, but for something to be erotic, it needs to be explored in a slower, more seductive manner. Perhaps the stories would have benefited from some additional length in order to reach a more arousing level.
Bawdy Bedtimes might be amusing for couples because the stories were quite short and wouldn’t take up too much time that could be spent on other things. *wink wink* The fantasies included in the stories were fun, but not highly original. Nothing was overly daring or taboo. An informal writing style was used in this book which would lend itself well to reading these stories to one’s boyfriend or girlfriend.
I’d recommend Bawdy Bedtime Stories to someone new to erotica or to someone looking to introduce a shy partner to erotica. It was a light read, but it has the potential to inspire some enjoyable ideas.
This book of erotic short stories claims to be bawdy. If you're used to vanilla romance and vanilla sex in the bedroom, then you might take the author's word for it.
However, while some of the stories could be used as a springboard for bedroom play, others were average, some even downright cheesy and silly. Usually I would get hung up on the dialogue that sounded like it came from the 1950's.
Still, the good outweighs the blah and may lead to some fun with your partner.
