This book is about a fifteen year old girl. The protagonist name is Patrice Latta. She got pregnant by this boy she liked named Lance. Lance was a senior and was about to graduate from high school. She described him as tall, handsome, and have particularly pretty curly hair. His hair was a shiny yellow and he had ice blue eyes. She loved him a lot and he loved her body a lot. He has a girlfriend named Stephanie Towne. Stephanie was a senior like Lance and was an astounding student, the top of her grade. Like Lance she was very popular. Stephanie and Lance got engaged after high school and that made Patrice very upset. Her mother was a pain in here back side. She would nag Patrice to put on make-up and to do her hair. Patrice didn't do any of those thing. The conflict was man vs self, because she didn't know what to do with the baby as to keep it or disown it. She even considered abortion. The conflict was also man versus man vs man, because Patrice and her mother didn't get along and Stephanie didn't like her, because she new she was seeing her boyfriend. The antagonist was none surprisingly Stephanie and her mother who was very upset that she did it in the first place.

What I liked most about this book was the theme. The theme of the book is don't start making baby's your noy ready to have and raise one. Patrice learned this the hard-way. I like how it's told in a third person point of view instead of first person point of view. I also like how it shows the challenges of having a baby, as if a warning! I liked the part when Patrice freind Lauren, was going to tell her mom about her pregnancy! Patrice freaked out and convienced her that she was going to tell her. Of course patrice keep procrastinating when Lauren asked her did she tell her and she says no not yet. All the will her mother new all along, but waited for her to tell her. I also liked how the story described the symptoms of her pregnancy. It was very detailed about her cramps and pains. How she somtimes felt like vometing everywhere. How her belly grew of the course of her pregnancy. It was very enlightening and gives me an idea of sort of what wemon go through.

I didn't like how Lance ditched her after she told him about the baby. He didn't step up and be a father. It showed he was a cad and a irresponsible person. Patrice should've made him do child support! I also didn't like it when Patrice knew he had a girlfriend and slept with him anyway. She deserved what was coming to her next after that decision. I also didn't like how her mother knew she was pregnant, but didn't say anything until it was to late.

I read this book around 5th grade (25 years ago?)

It's about a 15 year old girl named Patrice who has a bad relationship with her mother, and is easily manipulated into a sexual relationship by an older senior boy named Lance. She gets pregnant, and now has to navigate all that shit. This was one of those SEX IS BAD, DON'T GET PREGNANT books we all read in the 80s and 90s.

Someone To Love Me was an okay book. It talks about a high school girl who finds herself talking to the most popular guy in school, Lance. She begines to think he is interested in her and will do anything to satisfy him. she soon learns that making him happy doesnt work out. She begins to encounter problems involving her mom and her best friend. She soon realizes that she is pregnant and Lance doesnt want any part of it. It made me feel really bad for her. Everything she has to deal with. It was an interesting book to read.

I thought it was a pretty decent book to read. I decided to read this book without reading what the book was about and just going by the title of the book along with the picture on the cover of the book. I would say that this book is geared more towards young adult-probably anywhere from 13 on up. The author chose to pick a real-life topic that some teen-aged girls probably can relate to; and I think Jeannette Eyerly did a very great job writing this book around the topic. I'd say, give this book a read, it really may be worth your time

It’s up & down. The end was pleasant enough & I guess made sense but it was hard to handle as a parent. I made similar choices for different reasons when I was a teenager & found myself pregnant but as a parent I want better for my kids. The reality of the situation is portrayed well but I do believe that it could’ve been discussed in a little more detail. I understand it’s a fictional storyline but if you’re playing with the negative aspects of teenage parenthood I think it’s important to go all in.
