I am intimately aware of the details, events and persons mentioned in this book. It presents a sad commentary on violence and hatred; as well as the disregard for the law of God during that has developed within recent generations.
I was hoping this book would include more history about the OPC's presence in San Francisco in the final decades of the twentieth century. It ended up being more generally about conservative politics and activism during those decades. Although it's interesting to read about evangelical pastors engaging in 1980s culture war battles—especially since times have changed so much since then, I was hoping for a more uniquely confessional Presbyterian (and therefore, timeless...?) perspective on the church's role within society.
