This book is an assortment of poems that use all types of poetic devices from personification to rhyming to just free verse. All of the poems are about usual things like kites and cotton candy. They are all relatable and really easy for kids to read. I would say 3rd graders to 5th graders would be interested in this book. The words used are simple to understand and the poems are pretty short. Most of the poems also teach a point, for exactly there is one about a lizard and it talks about how is sheds his skin. This allows children to maybe learn something new.I think that most children can relate to the poems because they are about things that they have mostly done or have seen. Also there are drawings for each poem so they can also imagine what it would be like.

Artistic Elements: This book isn't for younger children mostly because all of the art in this book is just in black and white. It is not really interesting to little kids because they don't have that color to attract their interest.I think it is representational art in this book of poems.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book for older elementary student. They can easily relate and can create a clear image of what is going on in the poems.

Loved this book for the variety of poems and their rich language that I used for teaching in the classroom.

The stories are all relatable and really easy for people to read. I would recommend this book/poem to people who actually like to read about poems and enjoy the rhyming lines. The words used are simple to understand and the poems are pretty short. Most of the poems also teach a point, for exactly there is one about a lizard and it talks about how is sheds his skin.
