This is by far the worst copy of this book ever. Whoever did the copying did a crumby job at it, leave it close to unreadable. Font waste your money in this edition.
In the Western theater of the American Civil War guerrilla warfare was common as neighbor fought neighbor. Quantrill led a band of partisans nominally associated with the confederacy although never officially recognized by the government. The James and Youngers rode with the band for a period of time.
I really did not know very much about Quantrill and this book really taught me a lot about the conflicts between Kansas and Missouri. I recommend this book very much.
