Russ Manning's adaptations of quite a few of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan novels are somewhat legendary. This volume collects the adaptations of the first four novels – Tarzan of the Apes, The Return of Tarzan, The Beasts of Tarzan and The Son of Tarzan – introducing readers to the lost Lord Greystoke, raised by the great apes of Western Africa, the love of his life, Jane Porter, and their son Jack.

While there are certainly differences between the original novels and these adaptations in places, they are nevertheless a very enjoyable read to anyone interested in the character.

I read this adaptation in DC Comics 1972 digest edition... it's unforgettable. Manning was the artist at this time on the daily Tarzan comic strip, and his adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel here is spot on.

this is a fun and fast paced book. I read it for a college class and probably will never read a second one.

I loved this book. I read this when I was 12 and forgot just how good it was.
This truly has the right to be called a classic of the 20th century.
