This guide for preparing , delivering, and analyzing public speaking opportunities is a solid resource.

The content is well-researched and yet has case studies to make it aplicable to any situation.

I skimmed it, and it give me ideas for how to organize difficult or nuanced conversations, too.

Published in 1995, its content still helps the reader decide how to approach remarks as to best meet the needs of the audience and the speaker.

"Get to the Point: How to Say What You Mean and Get What You Want" by Andrew Gilman and Karen was a very interesting read on communications. It talks about a "proven program" that helps with performance anxiety and social confidence. Gilman and Berg promise to teach the reader how to say what you mean to get what you want. Although some of the advice did seem to get repetitive at the end, like they were trying to fill a quota.

If you can get past the amusingly dated references to overhead projectors, transparencies, and "brand new" videoconferencing technologies, Get To The point is a useful desk reference and read for pretty much anyone above the age of 13 living anywhere but a deserted island.

This book is a no-nonsense, straight forward approach on how to prepare for everything you might need to know to get ahead in any business in which you interact with people. From how to present yourself in meetings to presentations to job interviews, Gilman provides solid insight on how to prepare and execute. The approach is nothing outrageous or mind-blowing, but practicing the techniques listed will garnish real results.

I read a book titled "Get to the Point," but I don't know the author, so I'm not sure that this is the correct book.
