Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

If you're looking for a hot and steamy PNR look elsewhere. This was a sweet, quick read. There is a fun splash of paranormal thrown into the story which gives a classic mystery with light romance a cool twist.

While switching viewpoints from a first person POV is not always my favorite style, I must admit this one was well done. I liked both of the main characters and I really appreciated that they were real people. When something bad happens they don't mysteriously get away with only minor scrapes and bruising. Very realistic. I found that some of the conversations seemed a little stilted but the story was fairly clear. There are some things I am still thinking about that must have connected but were left to be more intuitive for the reader I suppose. The paranormal angle seems to consist of psychic abilities but they seem to be fairly common which I did not expect from the setting of the story and each characters reluctance to share their unique ability.

Overall, I found this to be an engaging story with a sharp mystery. Excellent work.

A Gripping, Supernatural Thriller with Heart!

This twisty, suspense-filled ride pulls you in from page one! Laurel’s tangled past and Aaron’s relentless pursuit of the truth create electric chemistry, while the eerie supernatural elements add a fresh, chilling layer. Full of danger, secrets, and unexpected turns, this is a romantic thriller that keeps you guessing and rooting for the characters until the very end. A must-read for fans of mystery, romance, and the unexplained!

Honestly, I wasn't certain what to expect when I agreed to read and review One Small Touch. From the synopsis, I imagined a romance with a bit of mystery. I wasn't exactly right.

There's romance and a mystery is definitely afoot. But, there's a level of paranormal that I didn't see coming. And couldn't have been happier to find.

It starts with Aaron's ability: He's a psychometrist, which means he can sense the history of an object by touching it. This is how he knows, but can't prove, what killed Laurel's husband and her best friend.

(He's not the only one who's got a little something extra going on. But, you'll just have to read the book to find out who it is. I'm not telling.)

One of the cutest aspects of the book is Aaron crushing on Laurel, before meeting her. He's been reading her books to his mother and has grown very ... fond ... of the author's picture. It's really cute.

But the focus of the book is the murder mystery, which twists and turns nicely, as all good mysteries should. Told from the perspective of Laurel and Aaron, in alternating chapters, it keeps the reader involved and invested. I found myself yelling "Tell him!" and "Tell her!" more than once.

The down side? One Small Touch would have benefited from some serious editing and additional punctuation. The writing was, in spots, problematic and unclear. There were a couple of instances where Laurel is describing herself in terms that would have made more sense coming from Aaron.

With that said, I still enjoyed the story and loved the final twist. But, again - I'm not telling.

I struggled to get into this book don't know if it was me or the book, I read something else then tried again once I'd gotten going I was ok. It starts with a couple found dead after their car spins off the road and unfolds from there. Someone is desperately searching for something, we have theft, physical assault, explosions, mystery and of course romance, the characters were very likable and not just Aaron, the police lieutenant or Laurel the widow but the secondary characters as well. While reading there were a lot of things that just didn't sit right most were little things like when Aaron is given the widows name he jumps straight to the author, not just wonders if it's her, then Laurel, while home alone let's a complete stranger into her house and gives him her husbands papers, the scene at the airport, no effort is made to find out who he was, surely there's a list of passengers etc etc it was all little things that should have been picked up by beta readers. Putting this aside I went along for the ride and enjoyed it, it's not a book I would ever pick up and read again but for a free read it was ok.

Typical romance but a great murder mystery. Lt.Aaron March comes upon a fatal car crash, that in the dark appears to be an accident in the rain. But, when he opens his senses, he knows its a double homicide. Laurel Wentworth is a successful romance mystery writer, with a marriage of convenience. When her husband and best friend are killed in a traffic accident, she becomes the target of a desperate killer. Some one comes after her trashing her house, exploding a bomb and tying her up with a gun to her head. A blast of wind coming out of no where has kept her safe. Laurel has been lucky each time she has been spared being killed or seriously hurt. When she meets Aaron she is attracted to him, but wants to be sure its for the right reasons. Aaron wants to protect her and keep her safe but doesn't know what is actually going on. Why Laurel is a target and what are they actually after. Not until the pieces are put together with the help of Aaron's special senses can they finally uncover the secrets of the outhouse and reveal the killer. A cute story that makes you laugh at times and keeps you guessing until the end.

Thanks, Denise McGee, OMG...I was in tears at the end. God what a beautiful way to end such an amazing murder mystery I loved every moment of it. I honestly am starting to wonder if writing books could get us authors into trouble lol, god what a great book and the characters are outstanding. But that ending, good god, I was thinking the whole time till then -.- that jerk deserved to die then wham....:') beautiful ending.

One Small Touch is a romantic tale with a bit of paranormal whipped in for added flavor. It’s an enjoyable read, well-paced, and suspenseful. The characters are likable, and have special talents which help them solve the mysterious death of an unfaithful husband and his girl on the side.
It's definitely worth 3 1/2 stars. I would recommend to all romance readers.

I liked this surprisingly more than i thought i would. The small touch of paranormal was a nice surprise, and the mystery was kind of interesting, but i didn't love it. I would call it more of a 3.5 star though.

A little too weird. A little too sloppy. Too much stupidity for characters and cops that were otherwise intelligent. Didn't work for me.
