August 24, 2023Skimmed. It's an older book, but it seems well-done. The intro is beginner-friendly. The projects are practical things I could imagine wanting in my home / patio. I might revisit this one at some point.

Love it! Gotta be rich to buy the lumber tho...

I've recently become interested in making my own furniture so I headed to the library to see what kind of books they had on the subject. While I enjoyed this book and did find two or three plans to make that were fairly simple, the rest were out of my skill level or just not my taste. I know there are plenty of websites to find free furniture plans on, but I just prefer to have a book instead.

This book is far out of date, style-wise. Some designs are okay, and some make you outright cringe.
While I'm not going to knock it too much - I mean, there are a few decent pieces in here - you can get a much larger selection of plans, much more easily, and for free, from thedesignconfidential.com (among many other websites, of course).
