Wow, I have never seen a cookbook where I have wanted to cook none of the recipes. The slow cooker is a marvelous thing, but I feel like this book really lost sight of what the slow cooker does best: takes cheap pieces of meat, cooks them slow, and makes them taste like a million bucks. Like, why would I buy lamb, duck, or rabbit for my slow cooker? I don't know who the audience is for this book, but it sadly was not me.
Glossy photographs and an eclectic mix of recipes are the highlight of this slow cooker cookbook. Most of the recipes are a bit fancy and/or include ingredients which my family would not like, but the food looks delicious. I'm not sure how many of the recipes I'll actually make, but I enjoyed reading the cookbook.
