Brian Michael Bendis

Though he started as a writer and artist of independent noir fiction series, he shot to stardom as a writer of Marvel Comics' superhero books, particularly Ultimate Spider-Man.

Bendis is one of the premiere architects of Marvel's "Ultimate" line: comics specifically created for the new generation of comic readers. He has written every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man since its best-selling launch, and has also written for Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate X-Men, as well as every issue of Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, Ultimate Origin and Ultimate Six.
Brian is currently helming a renaissance for Marvel’s AVENGERS franchise by writing both New Avengers and Mighty Avengers along with the successful ‘event’ projects House Of M, Secret War, and this summer’s Secret Invasion.
He has also previously done work on Daredevil, Alias, and The Pulse.

Colpa mia, l'avevo colpevolmente tralasciato e non se lo meritava per niente!
Primo fumetto che leggo di Devil, a parte le cose storiche pubblicate nell'albo che Repubblica gli ha dedicato anni fa. C'è Alex Maleev che disegna e mi piace il suo tratto, nonostante sia piuttosto sporco.
Storia di mafia, per farla breve. Kingpin è morto e le famiglia cercano di impadronirsi dei suoi affari. Ma lui ha un figlio e una moglie che, pur provando sentimenti contrastanti per il marito, torna e fa quello che deve fare.
Nel frattempo un paio di agenti cercano di svelare l'identità segreta di Devil, che vede la sua vita complicarsi all'improvviso. E ricompare Elektra, personaggio che per me ha un fascino particolare.
NB: secondo il mio catalogo personale, la storia è apparsa anche nel volume della Repubblica. Son passati troppi anni perché la sottoscritta si ricordi.

Una bella storia, cupa e interessante dall’inizio alla fine con un ottima sceneggiatura e un ottima regia.
