Leonard Malcolm Saville was an English author best known for the Lone Pine series of children's books, many of which are set in Shropshire. His work emphasises location; the books include many vivid descriptions of English countryside, villages and sometimes towns.
Considerably better than the previous one I read (The Flying Fish Adventure). Better use is made of the setting, the children are less annoying, the adults are more present and involved, and the adventure is more exciting. This time there is camping and treasure, which almost makes up for the lack of smugglers! I still like Blyton better.
