The Sheridans' Guide to Cheese by Kevin Sheridan

Rate this book
Brothers Kevin and Seamus Sheridan founded Sheridans Cheesemongers in 1995. Today, they are a byword for cheese, not only in Ireland, where they have almost singlehandedly nurtured a new generation of artisanal cheesemakers, but also in the UK, across Europe and, increasingly, the rest of the world.Their first book, THE SHERIDANS' GUIDE TO CHEESE, is an indispensable handbook for both novice cheeselovers and mature connoisseurs alike. The book is a complete guide to cheese, featuring a style-by-style guide to cheeses of the world, and heaps of practical advice on selecting, buying, aging and storing cheese, as well as tasting notes to help you appreciate every kind you try; an invaluable resource for assembling an ideal cheese plate; wine- and flavour-pairing notes; and even a few useful recipes for delicious cheese-related dishes.

I used this as a resource to help me write an essay on the chemistry of making cheese. Highly recommend if you are interested in the science behind cheese or if you just want to make some cheese at home!
