Although this books main purpose is to teach vocabulary, I found myself laughing at how cute the illustrations were. The sentences rolled right off my tongue as I was reading this book. The vocabulary fo this book was carefully chosen for children. The illustrations were hand painted and/or colored. The colors used throughout the book were also very vibrant, Spanish-like colors. By this I mean bright blues, hot pinks, reds, even female characters had on blue eye shadow! I love how the text matched the pictures on each page that introduced a new scene and word. this book is great for trying to introduce a new language to chldren.

The book teaches simple words and phrases in Spanish and uses rhymes throughout. It contains great illustrations and some translations. I did not really care for this book because there is no theme or specific direction. It just goes from random to random word, or phrase. Also, some of the words do not have translation so you have to use either context clues or the pictures to figure out what the English translation of the word is.

As a native English speaker learning Spanish, I enjoyed it! The rhythmic phrases/vocabulary were engaging and the illustrations were colorful. I wish the book was more theme driven vs a random assortment of vocabulary.

This book is two fold in it's purpose: it teaches readers come basic spanish, and it also pulls readers in with the illustrations. For a visual learner, this book would be ideal--the spanish and english words are given, and the illustrations serves a trigger as well. This book teaches the reader over 70 words in Spanish and also provides a glossary.

The lyrical way in which this book is written makes the reader almost forget they are learning a new language--it is very well done. I think that parents and children alike can learn from this book--both about the spoken language and the culture as well.

This book is very informational and can teach children basic spanish words, which now days can help children better communication with student's in their classrooms. Almost in all classrooms there are spanish speaking student's who are learning english, this book cna even be helpful to them. Say Hola to Spanish has pictures with spanish words describing the picture in one or two words. for example; Naranjas means oranges and there was a picture of an orange next to the spanish word. Very informational!

This is a pretty cute book that teaches spanish words on each page. It's very simply written, so it's not difficult to read. The pictures in the book matches with the words on the page, so ELL students will find it easier to read the book. The students who speak and can read Spanish may find this book fun to read, because it has cute rhymes that mixes English and Spanish. Great book for non-spanish speakers as well!

I like this book for the idea of teaching your English speakers some Spanish words. I like this idea because maybe instead of always focusing on the English Language Learners to communicate, why not have the others try to communicate in their language?
