Daredevil is gone, but Hell's Kitchen is still a place of heroes and villains. Foggy Nelson (issue #1), the Defenders (issue #2), the many loves of Matt Murdock (issue #3), the Kingpin (issue #4) and a mysterious Guardian Devil (issue #5) will all learn what it means to live in a world without a Daredevil. And without a Daredevil to protect it, has hell come for his city? Who is The Man Without Fear?! Rated T+
I actually again really liked this issue. Its more a reflection of daredevil and where hes at than a 'fight em up' style daredevil story. Intrigue with where this goes next
As others have asked, where is this mini series going? Okay, Matt Murdock is not dead, but is Daredevil? Who knows? Matt is pretty beat up and scarred up. His body is in terrible shape from all those years of fighting villains. A realistic look at the unrealistic world of superheroes. But what the heck? Batman returned from a broken back! Almost every other character has returned from the dead. Why should a few bumps and bruises put a stop to Daredevil? I did like one possible suggestion and have Blindspot become Daredevil for a while. Worked for DC.
Better than the first issue, but still not really what I expected. Didn't know Daredevil had lost his legs, and I think that's an interesting development for him, but I don't know if that one new aspect will be enough to make me follow him. Going to at least give this mini series a shot though.
I thought the twist of who was narrating was a neat trick. And this issue delves deep into Matt's mental-state as he recovers. I found that really realistic. I'm still not sold on how a five-part series needs to stand-alone outside as it's own mini-series, and for $4 US/each. We'll know by the end if this really was worth it, but the story -- while touching -- is also pretty cliche.
Matt is awake but broken physically and spiritually. Pain he can handle, but what about the unknown? Foggy, Kristen, and Sam visit, and he must make s decisions.
The Man Without Fear plot continues here, but it’s taken a totally different turn. I think in some ways I liked the first issue’s concept more. It was totally unique and somehow perfectly fit the Daredevil theme at the same time. This issue was still really strong, and ran with a lot of different themes for Daredevil. Especially the kicking him when he’s down part. And making him question how safe it is for the people he loves to be around him. The usual, as far as that’s concerned. I think that’s the main reason I liked the first issue more – it felt more innovative than this one. But I guess I’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the plot pans out. I’m still really curious to see where it goes, so clearly I wasn’t too upset with this issue.
