Sara Lonnamen is a shy, quiet college student that is struggling to keep up with the demands of her family back home in Wisconsin and her desire to have time to herself a few states away. She falls into the lap of bad boy Chris who physically and emotionally ignites a side of Sara that she herself did not know existed. When a strange turn of events puts Sara right in to Chris' hands, will she learn to embrace his teachings, or will she run from the man who could help her learn what true submission means?

This was a good quick read that is meant to be a prequel to the Learning to Let Go series.
Sara a 20 year old college student is shy and awkward around men. She suffers from feelings of inadequacy brought on from what is alluded to as a difficult family life. Chris is the mysterious bad boy that she meets outside of her accounting class. At first Sara is scared of Chris due to his bad boy appearance; muscles and a mohawk, oh my! As Chris tries to pursue Sara she becomes enticed with his commanding yet gentle presence. When Sara gives in to Chris for just one night she is introduced to a whole new lifestyle that she didn't know anything about but finds very appealing.
"This was more than euphoria - this was freedom."
This was a well written introduction to Sara and Chris. We don't learn much about the characters pasts but the book does have some vey sexy moments and an unexpected twist. It left me intrigued and looking forward to the next book in the series.
Book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
“I can only hope that I am somewhere in that thought that has you changing all these different shades of red.”
This book is just a little glimpse into what the Let Go Series is going to be, a prequel. And like the quote says it definitely had me blushing and wanting a little more than I would like to admit. It’s a super quick read that hooks you in and leaves you wanting to know what is happening with Chris and Sara.
“I’m all in, I’m all in, I’m all in.”
I loved Sara, I loved the banter that went on in her head. She was a cute 20 yr old college student, who had a quiet innocence about her.
“She almost had to pick her jaw up off the ground when she eyed the man, a walking billboard for stranger danger.”
Oh yes, that would be Chris the boy she meets outside her accounting class and let me tell you he screams Dangerous, Handsome, Motorcycle Riding, Alpha Bad boy. Sara is thrown off by Chris but her body is aroused and she finds herself wondering why her body is responding to him the way it is.
”How the hell did this guy get her body to move before she had processed the commands?”
“Did he really just tell her that he was going to spank her in public? Like a child? Oh hell, she knew he was dangerous from the first day she met him on campus. Maybe his muscle clad, leather wearing, bad boy appearance wasn’t a façade and he was the devil sent to tempt her.”
Of course, Sara did what any girl would do, she gave him into for one night and that’s when she finds herself in a whole other lifestyle, one she is pretty sure she wants to learn.
Safe to say I couldn’t buy the next two books fast enough. I needed to know where Sara and Chris where in their relationship, I needed more about them period. To say this book has some HOT moments is an understatement and the ending left me running to Amazon. I will be honest I have read that the first book in the series focuses more on Bryn, Sara’s sister and less on Sara and I don’t know if I am ok with that. Right now I am so invested in Sara and Chris I don’t know how I feel about this sister coming on the scene.
But……
“I’m a big girl, Chris. I think I can handle it. You haven’t done anything to me that I didn’t like so far. I really would like to keep going if that is ok….Sir.”
For hottnes factor I give this one a solid 3.75! I must warn you it is a short read and the way it ends leads me to beleive there may be a follow up story for our young lovers.
A very tastee short read! I am definitely looking forward t reading this whole series...hoping the relationship of the main characters blossoms into something great! What can I say, I'm a sucka for a hot love story :)
This is one hot of a beginning to a series. Dubbed the prequel to the series, this is where it all starts and sets the tone for things to come for Sara. Once she has her eyes opened and her pulse quickened by being restrained, she begins her journey to let go. A wonderful set of characters is introduced in this short novella. Each character is well developed and expressive. The core goodness and adventurous nature of Sara gives Chris a protective side. Sexual Dominates are normally written as controlling and methodical, Chris is not lacking in any of these areas. However, when faced with a new submissive that has never been around the lifestyle he is smart enough to ask for help. It does not show him as weak, it shows how much Sara means to him and in turn, it she gives him her trust. Sara is what most people would consider a sweet and somewhat innocent farm girl. She is written as a natural submissive; in spite of this, she does have a feisty side. She drops the F-Bomb and has a smart mouth when she feels nervous. Her quick wit and sarcasm will have you laughing. This is shaping up to be an interesting series and with this snippet prequel, you will be salivating to read more about Sara and Chris.

2 stars Okay, first I was excited, bad boy biker meets quiet college student, sounds promising right so I thought I’d give it a go. It’s a super short read, wanting to get a sense of the writer’s style and see if I was gonna get sucked into the series, sad to say the main characters didn’t really do it for me. Sara was a little too quiet for me and the description of Chris, with the handkerchief around the neck, distracted me, I spent most of the book trying to picture him and figure out if I thought he was HOT or NOT?!? Sara gets thrown into a lifestyle that she didn’t even know about the next book in the series isn’t picking up where these two left off, it’s with Sara’s sister Bryn … so not really sure I’ll jump right in just yet.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book. There was an instant connection between Sara and Chris. This connection brought a fire to both their bodies that neither could deny, even though Sara tried. Sara soon realizes what exactly Chris is wanting, and this may just push her to her limits. Once Sara and Chris have their night, Sara decides that she may be willing to fully submit to him and have the type of relationship he wants. Before she can let him know, he disappears, and she suddenly has to leave to deal with family matters. Will Sara and Chris get a chance to have the relationship they both want? I sure hope so, because these two are hot together!. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series.
Shy, quiet, tongue-tied-around-the-opposite-sex Sara meets hot, scruffy looking, dominant Chris before class and she falls for him. The story sounded interesting but when that scene where he demanded/commanded her to sit back down, on their first day of meeting, had me raising my eyebrows. I wasn't very impressed on how she just fell into the whole BDSM, okay maybe she was discovering herself. I can still accept her going from shy to exploring with Chris but to throw in another guy and she's okay with that. All these in weeks of meeting Chris. Just too many things going on for a short read. If it was just Chris and Sara, it would have been okay and then throw in the third guy in their full novel.
Second book to read but first in the series. Hazel St. James has my attention and I am truly a fan now. This story takes us into one day & night with Chris and Sara (Bryn's sister from Let me Fly). Chris is a Dom that is instantly attracted to Sara after hearing her say "Sir" to the professor of their accounting class. Their night together is Sara's introduction into BDSM lifestyle. It was hot, steamy and loved Professor McHottie who was able to educate Sara as well. I am off to read Sara, Chris and Darrin's story. I know what you are thinking- who is Darrin? Read Let me Fly and you'll find out soon enough.

I think I loved the shy quiet Sara and really adored the fact that the author actually said this is a prequel to her Learning to Let Go series. I will be reading the second book in the series because I liked Hazel St James writing style. While I did not really love this short novella I do think the series has hope. What I do hope is that there will be another Sara/Chris story in the series because I did not like the ending..
I didn't really enjoy this book. I just randomly opened one on my ereader and I felt rushed and I often thought ''Bullshit''. Dominic suddenly joining them without any fuss seems weird to me.
Also, the way Hazel St James describes kissing grosses me out! ''He quickly flit his tongue inside her mouth, sweeping it from side to side. He tilted his head, continuing to torment her mouth.''
Well, I pass on doing a tango and a wrestle with kissing. Usually that's a big thumb down for me.
I don't know. It's a prologue of a book, but I don't feel tempted to read the rest of the series.
Another good amazon freebie here! I have already purchased the 1st book in the series and I am so glad that I picked this one up when it was free. This is an adult book, if you couldn't tell by the cover! I love that it shows the beginning of everything. Sara struck me as a submissive right from the beginning and I was smitten with Chris. It's just sad the way this ended, but I am glad that I don't have to wait to read on.
I was hooked from the very first book. In fact, it was so good I had to go find all the books remaining in the series. Each story is hot, steamy and intriguing. The books are well written and characters are developed well. I was drawn into each book and once I turned the last page I had to go find the next one. They are so good! This is the first book/series that I have read by this author and definitely won’t be my last.
There really wasn't any story. I felt no connection between Chris and Sara, but yet at the end of the book we read just how "precious she was to him." Huh?? And it kinda read like a bad porno. Oh how convenient- the school professor is also a professor of how to teach someone to be submissive. (Insert eye roll)
A good start to a very interesting series. I didn't want to stop reading it. Chris and Sara have unresolved family issues that I'm dying to find about. I can't wait to read the next book to learn more about them.
*** I was provided a copy of this book by the author for an honest review ***
Whew! That was a short and steamy read. Great introduction to what I hope to be great series of books. I can't wait to read more about Chris and Sara's journey.
This was much better than I expected. The characters had depth, I understood what they were doing and where they were coming from. I couldn't put it down.
