An inspirational story aimed at very young children, The Penguin Way tells the tale of a penguin that does things no matter the odds or his abilities. No matter what the activity is, the little penguin does it to the best of his ability. In so doing he remains true to his own self. Perseverance to the best of their ability is the penguin way in this charming and positive read.

While more than half the book is taken up by ads, what is here in this short book is a fun positive read aimed at a three to six year old audience. The illustrations are simple and clever. The clear text works well for the intended audience though some words may be a bit tough for the young readers. The core message of staying positive, perseverance, and self-reliance is a good message for kids of all ages. Like Scott Gordon’s other books for children The Penguin Way works well and is worth your time.

The Penguin Way (Believe in yourself!)
Colorful children's book about liking yourself. Starts out with other works by the author.
We are all good at something, especially if we like doing it.
You just need a little encouragement to try something new. Never give up.

Penguin admits he cannot do everything well, but he has his preferences. He does his best and he tries hard. Because that is the Penguin way!

What an adorable book. I loved the illustrations. The story was cute. Your toddlers will love it. They will laugh out loud like I did. Fun!

This book is a nice addition to an elementary school classroom library. The nonfiction story is made personal by including the author's first-hand interactions with these charming animals. related to elephants and often called sea cows. They remind me most of porpoises because of their readiness to play with humans when given the opportunity.

Smith gives the scientific background on manatees, explains the three different types and where they live, their eating habits, mating and family life and why they are important. Gordon provides amazing facts, and some cool photographs that can be zoomed if you have a kindle Fire.

I think the author is correct in targeting the reading age for the book at ages seven and older. Perfect early reader for a child who likes animals

A very cute story

I read this to my brother tonight and it is a very cute story. It shows to never give up and do what you love, even if others think you shouldn't do it. You may not be the best at everything in the beginning but wIth practice you can improve. The Penguins Way is simply following your dreams and find what you love to become the person you're many to be.

Short, but has a good message. It gave a lot of sports examples and didn't really give any others - like art, music, math, etc. - and I think adding other examples would have added to the book. Sports aren't the only thing that people expect you to be good at. I think if more examples were used, more kids would relate to the book and the message would mean more to them.

Scott Gordon does it again.
Great book for younger readers. Penguin helps to show that he may not be good at some things, but he is at others. He also helps show kids not to limit themselves to what others think.
He will keep on trying and never give up.

Cute book to read to the grandkids and maybe even take a little from it yourself. Not just another storybook, it has a good message to teach, always easier using cute illustrations, esp. animals.
