Zuri Day

Zuri Day is a hopeful romantic. She believes in happy endings, half-full glasses and dreams coming true. That's why she's thrilled to be a contributing writer to this genre...one of her favorites!

Zuri doesn't remember exactly how old she was when she picked up her first romance novel, but she does remember it was love at first sight. "It was probably a Harlequin," she recalled during a recent interview. "And it thankfully took me away from a fairly dull and routine existence growing up in a small Kansas town."

Things aren't dull and routine anymore. Zuri now resides in Los Angeles with her family and when she isn't writing loves to travel the world, cook vegetarian food, work out, watch sports, attend concerts and theatre and enjoy the simple things in life.

"Many people have given up on love, much less romance," Zuri says. "I'm hoping that somehow, through the love-filled pages of my romance novels, I can ignite the reader's desire to believe again. Because everything is possible, when we believe..."

It was okay

The one thing I hate is the pregnancy trope. But it was good otherwise. I liked the Drakes, I loved Papa Dee. The spicy scenes were great too!

what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man. I love to walk around in tatted jeans and tee-shirts, but when I clean up I clean up NY style. I'm happy for the Dr. and Pappa Dee's great-grand child. Living and growing up in Southern California with flows of grapevines and all kinds of hidden places has to be a great life. Having a man take you on a fishing outing and enjoying nature, love and life is it. I learned some more things about Zuri Day and she is a Angel on Earth.. Great story line and great read.

Another great Drake Series book from the wonderful Zuri Day. I loved Dexter Drake and Dr. Faye Buckner's comical and loving relationship. The wait for Dexter's story was well worth it.

I knew when "Bachelor For Life" Dexter Drake found love he would be knocked for a loop. Dexter definitely met his match when Faye walked into his life. Looking forward to reading more from the Drake Family. Keeping my fingers crossed that Warren Drake's story will be next. A great read and must purchase.

Wine maker Dexter Drake, has it all he has turned the family business into a heaven they have a waiting list to prove it. He is having the time of his life and is the pride of his great grandfathers eye. Faye Buckner live a very quite life and believes in giving back. Faye's quick action make her the apple of the entire Drake families eye. Can she adjust or will she continue to go it alone.

Hee, hee. I'm quite sure that I would not have dated a "Dexter," even in my younger days. But, he is entertaining. If I were Faye, I would've wanted a bit more from him. But hey...

Platinum Promises Zuri Day

Does money make the man? Man is always working toward the goal of making money. Can this pursuit to gander wealth get in the way of understanding what life is all about. In the well written book by Zuri Day, Platinum Promises she insinuates that this could be a problem. You will have to read this jewel to find out.
Can a player be attracted to a beautiful, hardworking, wholesome down-to-earth woman? Can this woman of a less than luxurious lifestyle attract the eye of the rich handsome playboy?

Benjamin Franklin says it well: “Be studious in your profession, and you will be learned. Be industrious and frugal, and you will be rich. Be sober and temperate, and you will be healthy. Be in general virtuous, and you will be happy. At least, you will, by such conduct, stand the best chance for such consequences”.

The so aptly fits Ms. Day's book Platinum Promises and her heroine Dr. Fay Buckner. The finely artistic strokes of a master painter is how Ms. Day creates the characters, settings, dialogue and other story elements. In Platinum Promises I found it to be so endearing, so precious! A reader searching for such tenderness, sizzling, tasteful sensual activities between two lovers will surely be sated with this narrative.

Ms. Day uses the message of dedication for improving life for others as a main artery that beats deeply within the heart of Platinum Promises.

Dr. Faye Buckner has volunteered her medical service in the ravaged areas in Haiti after the hurricane, she has been to the poorest villages in Africa with the Peace Corp. After some many long days, months,of living with the bare minimal human standards Faye goes back to the states California for a much needed time for herself to rejuvenate. I love Faye and would be honored to have her in my small circle of dear friends. She is a classy lady, cleans-up well and is selfless. Her sacrifices for others makes her a near saint without being pious. I also love her candor when dealing with the player Dexter.

The Drake Wine Resort and Spa is just the perfect environment for the fun, laughter, sensuality to take off for Faye Buckner and Dexter Drake. Platinum Promises reminded me of the best old-fashioned love movies where that spark of energy between two strangers ignites the kindling of a romantic encounter. Sparks fly as Faye and Dexter's eyes meet across a crowd area in this case it is the luxurious resort owned by Dexter's family.

Dexter Drake is the player, fancy cars, clothes, deep pockets, handsome and a bit of that arrogant persona that makes him sexy. The yummy body does not hurt either.

Faye Buckner and Dexter Drake grow closer as the big celebration of Papa Dee's 100th birthday bash ensues. Was all the hoopla a bit too much for the Papa Dee as his succumbs to a minor heart attack? Thankfully, Dr. Faye is on the scene to rescue him and is the heroine once more.

Both Dexter and Faye are beautiful together because Faye keeps her mind strong and she is so well grounded in spite of cupid's arrows. Dexter is about wooing the woman, Faye, who is fixed on his radar. Mr. Man is not use to women challenging him and making him look within and at the world through a different prism. Will the searing passion and kindred spirits withstand time and miles apart? When reality settles back into Faye's life she must handle her business and you and I both read with bated breath as we follow Ms. Day's saga of temptation, love, titillating, hottest sex ever and a long distance between two people I don't want separated.

Well, you will have to read this scorcher of a novel to appreciate the manner in which Ms. Day articulate and manipulates the world in Platinum Promises.

Ms. Day's Platinum Promise is truly “platinum and promises” of carnal, fiery, explosive connection not to be forgotten and makes for some beautiful fantasies just before nighty-night time. In my opinion Ms. Day brings it on stronger than a triple espresso.

This book tell the story of Faye who is about to establish her own free clinic, checked into Drake’s hotel and her first glimpse of Dexter Drake is pretty impressing. So is Dexter’s view of her which is nothing like the women that he usual date before when their eyes locked onto each other then. As a guest at the hotel, she was invited to join the 100th birthday of the founder; Papa Dee who is Dexter’s great grandfather and idol. On the day of his celebration, Papa Dee collapsed in the middle of a dance and being a doctor, Faye immediately took control of the situation. It was then, her relationship with Dexter begin to blossom. But Faye acknowledged that their relationship will never be a long term and they come from different world. Dexter, on the hand, is used to being chased by women and being attracted to one who is vastly independent is rather difficult for him to handle.

I like reading this book especially the part where Faye’s best friend becomes the third person the relationship between Faye and Dexter. It makes Dexter felt unsecured in their relationship but it is a competition between the two of them vying for Faye’s affection and attention. I also like the scene between Dexter and Papa Dee. It is heartwarming to see them together and the conversation between them really tickle me. Overall this is an entertaining and fun read for me. ;)

Platinum Promises tells the story of the last Drake sibling, Dexter and his road to love. Dexter is the typical player and charmer who loves to have fun and enjoys women. He takes more after his great-grandfather, Papa Dee than his brother. His vow to never settle down is tested when he meets Faye Buckner during an emergency that endears her to him. Dexter is smitten and stages a full out pursuit of the nurse. He is met with challenges because Faye’s sole purpose is to focus on her career to the point of sacrificing other areas in her life. Do these two make a go of it and pursue the passion that is there. Readers must pick up the third installment in the Drakes of California series to find out.
This book was very entertaining and refreshing to read. Ms. Day did a good job with the character development and I must Papa Dee was a very ENJOYABLE and loveable character in this book. Readers will laugh at his antics but realize he has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Gotta love him.

This is book 3 in the Drakes of California series that also includes Diamond Dreams and Champagne Kisses. The resort and spa is now up and running on the winery owned by the Drake family. Faye Buckner is there on a much needed vacation after offering her medical services in earthquake ravaged Haiti. Used to living in less than ideal situations around the world, getting used to being surrounded by luxury and the attentions of playboy Dexter Drake.

Faye is determined to open a medical clinic and continue her life's purpose of helping people. Drake is determined to enjoy his family and his freedom. The joy of reading this book came from them getting to know each other and dispelling the preconceived notions they have about one another. Can a serious doctor who's main priority get along with someone who is more of a laid back free spirit?

Platinum Promises by Zuri Day starts hot and continues to be a hot read till the very end.

Faye Buckner is in Temecula for just a few days of relaxation before she starts working on the new free clinic she is opening in San Diego. She is staying at the Drake resort and spa thanks to her friend, mentor and father-like figure that is also sponsoring her clinic in San Diego. He believes that she needed some rest before she started working non-stop again.

Dexter Drake’s wines have helped to make his family’s resort and spa become one of the most successful vineyards in southern California’s wine country. He is used to playing fast and easy with all the women available to him. He believes that there are more grapes in a vineyard so why stay with just one. Read More...

The Drakes of California are one of my favorite families. This story between Dexter and Faye was awesome. The chemistry and companionship between them had its ups and downs but they made it through. Dexter being the baby of the family was not use to coming in second to nothing. Faye was very dedicated to her career and had to realize she was being a little selfish in what she expected, but not giving what she was asking for in return. In the end it all worked out.

I absolutely loved Faye and Dexter's story. Dexter was against the whole marriage thing but once he met Faye all bets where off. Faye's life centered around her work as a doctor and getting her free clinic up and running but she couldn't run from a Drake. This book had me laughing out loud at Papa Dee and his quick wit. For a man to be 100 years old, he sure kept you on your toes. Zuri Day is an awesome writer and she never disappoints.

I love the Drake family stories. Add this book to the pile of goodies. Dexter and Faye are a good fit. In this story opposites attract and they find a true Love. Life always makes you become ready for things that may not have been in your plan and that is what happens when Faye finds herself pregnant. Glad it all worked out and their love was enough to overshadow the unexpected pregnancy so they can live happily ever after.

Platinum Greatness

With this being the third book of the series, I knew to expect the heat from Dexter. He brought it & then some. He met his match in Faye ( his unexpected love surrendered.) I have enjoyed the Drakes & now when I re-read Solid Gold, it too will only be better, second time around.

The love story of Faye and Dexter is a believable story. The courtship was not intended and definitely not perfect. However, it is truly a whirlwind affair. The love scenes were very hot and the author crafted them freaky but classy. If the two can be combined. An excellent read!

Enjoyed this book. Idexter and Faye are not your typical couple. They have a oil and vinegar feel, but they are destined to mix better than they expected.
