Rosemary Wells is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. She often uses animal characters to address real human issues. Some of her most well-known characters are Max & Ruby and Timothy from Timothy Goes To School (both were later adapted into Canadian-animated preschool television series, the former’s airing on Nickelodeon (part of the Nick Jr. block) and the latter’s as part of PBS Kids on PBS).

Louise's little cousin's name is Fred in the book, but it's Morris whenever he appears in the show. It seems that this particular book is based on the show (rather than the other way around), so I'm not sure why they made the change. It was confusing for my kids, so we read it as Morris instead.

Part of the continuing adventures of Max and Ruby that my Maddie enjoyes. A safe bet for a quick read.
