Rate this book
This book is an analysis of a specific section in the book, The Naked Communist by W. Cleon Skousen, published in 1958. The section to be evaluated is entitled, "Current Communist Goals." From his FBI background, Mr. Skousen lists what he considered to be the top 45 Goals of the Communists, as of 1958. The progress and status of each of these Goals as of 2011 is carefully documented. I just finished “The Naked Communist” by Skousen and “The Naked Truth” by Bowers which is an updated addendum for part of the previous. I finished “Race, Politics and Culture: Critical Essays on the Radicalism of the 60s” a week ago.

All three books intertwine like part of a tapestry. The first two mentioned are an outline of communist infiltration in the US government (written in 1958, revised 1962), and an update on the goals accomplished thus far by the communists/progressives (written 2012). The third mentioned is a series of academic essays by progressives/communists on their failings in the 1960s and a reassessment on how to be more successful in the future (written in the 1970s and 1980s). Absolutely fascinating trilogy of books.

“The Naked Truth” was a good book, worth the read. Nearly all references that were from the last 20 years are Rightwing political pundits (which do have their value). But it has mostly clear and visible facts of modern society. The author puts all blame for every bad of society on marxism, which is not really accurate. But, if you read it critically, you will see a mountain of truth and a hill of debris. There was also a bit of misspelling which always aggravates me.

Overall, both of the “Naked” books have my strong recommendation, with a caveat on the second.

What is overlooked by both Skousen and Bowers is the organized and documented attack on the Christian culture by the Freemasons here in the USA, which was the plow and the fertilizer for the marxist crop. Legislative attacks through the Masonic arm against Christian education, and primarily against private Catholic schooling began in the very beginning of the 1900s, a couple decades prior to any marxist infiltration into our society.

In those early days, the Masons were defeated in the Supreme Court, but they pushed on. It is well documented in “American Masonry and Catholic Education” by the Rev. Michael Kenny in 1926. That book was to be a presentation some 6 years earlier, but was scrapped as it was thought to be over-reaching conspiracy theory. By the time it was published, the Masons had gotten some laws passed in Oregon which the Supreme Court shot down.

In a book written in 1884-5 by Monsignor Dillon, “Grand Orient Freemasonry Unmasked as the Secret Power Behind Communism” documents, 33 years before the Bolshevik revolution no less, that the Freemasons had set up groups around Europe to spread the ideas of socialism and communism.

The Masonic child of socialism/communism became wayward, and broke from its Masonic parents, though maintaining the same Luciferian spirit, with equal goals to destroy Christian Culture and the Western Civilization she had built.

I do not blame Skousen and Bowers for overlooking that part of this continued history. They were blinded by the intense onrush of marxism to realize where it was born. But now there is a multiheaded monster of demonic secularism we must fight. They are organized. They used a several generation plan. We must do the same. Organize and plan for their defeat. Read, my friends, read. Never stop reading.

Not a fun book, but an essential one. Bowers distills the prophetic predictions from one of my favorite authors (Cleon Skousen, The Naked Communist, The 5000 Year Leap: A Miracle That Changed the World) and shows how the Communist agenda is being fulfilled, one by one, throughout America. This has been going on for decades, over a century really, if you include the disastrous beginning of it with Marx.

This is a short, quick read, but not a pleasant one. Seeing how our very own citizens and leaders are so corrupted as to aid and abet the ongoing march of socialism/communism is not pretty. The only question I did not feel was adequately address is: WHY? Since most all problems come down to the basic drive for money (aka power), that is what I have to presume is behind it all.

In today’s world there is always a person calling for a socialist leader who promises free stuff for everyone, this is an unsustainable form of government and this book by Cleon Skousen and James Bowers do a great job of explaining how communism and its counterpart socialism doesn't work. One of the ways that they do a good job at explaining communism is how the historic events are presented in a way that a communist would teach it. To understand how communism has come about the most logical thing to do is to look at the history like a communist does,Skousen and Bowers do a terrific job of presenting it in that way. Another thing that was great about this book was the way that the historical personas were presented. Because of the way the people were discussed it was like you were actually there talking to them about their lives. A final thing that was terrific was the way that this book is presented. Skousen writes in a way that not only explains the subject in a way that anyone can understand, but his writing also causes you to think about the subject. In the end this book is about the philosophies of communism, the leaders of this idea, and a critique of the subject

To those who believe Communism is still alive and threatening to the freedom of those who love liberty, it will be enlightening and confirming. Those drawn to the virtue of the collective will hate it.

Originally written in the '50's, for those old enough to remember the early days of the 'Cold War' and 'Red Scare' fever, it will help them understand what they see in the larger culture today.
